White supremacist to judge: blacks and Hispanics fine, but no Jews on my jury

OLATHE, Kan. — The defense and prosecution are preparing to select a jury next month in the capital murder trial of Frazier Glenn Cross. He is accused of murdering three people outside two Jewish centers in Johnson County on April 13, 2014. The victims are Reat Underwood, 14, his grandfather, William Corporan, 69, and Terri Lamanno, 53.

Hope his wishes weren't accomodated. In fact, it would be sweet if all 12 jurors were Jewish!

Frazier Cross’ opening statements focus on his belief in genocide

sbm
“The defendant, out of his car, pointing a gun at Terry LaManno, and Terry was begging for her life, ‘No, No, No!’,” said Johnson County Assistant Prosecutor Chris McMullin, who then quoted Cross. “I did it and I am proud of it. I planned it, I plotted it, I schemed it.”

Prosecutors objected to the first sentence of Frazier Cross’ opening statement, causing the judge to dismiss the jury and warn Cross that if he does not choose his words carefully, he could cause a mistrial during his opening statement.

Prosecutors are close to finishing case against F. Glenn Miller Jr. in anti-Jewish shootings

After three days of testimony, prosecutors said Wednesday they are nearing the end of their case in the F. Glenn Miller Jr. capital murder trial.

Johnson County District Attorney Steve Howe said the state will rest its case Thursday after one last witness.

Miller, who is representing himself, will then begin presenting his defense. He asked District Judge Kelly Ryan if he could wait until Monday to have time to prepare.

Ryan told Miller that he found the request “a little more than ironic” because Miller had insisted on having a speedy trial. Ryan said he would take up Miller’s request Thursday after the state rests.

Frazier Cross begins his Defense by first asking for a delay. In making "radical" phone calls that he knows are being recorded, Prosecutors think he is trying sabotage the trial.

Throughout the discussion, Cross interrupted the judge. Ryan told Cross his disrespect could lead to his removal from the courtroom.

The judge called the jury back into the courtroom just before noon and granted Cross his continuance until Friday.

Cross, also known as Glenn Miller, is representing himself in the case. He said he needed extra time to recuperate because of his health and to give him more time to prepare his defense.

Bit surprised there isn't more interest in this case. Three killed (including one child) in an indisputable hate crime, and a 'colorful' defendant who insists on serving as his own legal counsel.

I agree. I almost wish they would not try to get the DP in this case. If he gets the DP he will get all these extra days in Court and automatic appeals. All the more time to spew his hate to the public. He is already like 75 years old and sick. To me just cut his pain meds and let nature and the Good Lord run it's course.

I agree. Even if given the DP, he would die before he was executed -- the only thing is he would have, in his appeals, courtrooms as platforms to defile with his white supremacist rhetoric.

Cross has no defense other than to explain why he had the right to kill these 3 innocent people. He feels he is the authority to rid the world of all jews who are taking over the world. imo

The judge agreed with prosecutors.

“The genocide is not admissible, how much clearer can I make that to you,” the judge said.

“You are saying that this court will not let me read about genocide…. Beam me up, Lord,” Cross replied.

F. Glenn Miller Jr. tells jurors he regrets not killing more people

With chilling nonchalance, F. Glenn Miller Jr. on Friday described to a Johnson County jury how he used a shotgun to kill three people last year in Overland Park.

“It’s premeditated, no doubt about it,” he said as a courtroom full of spectators looked on in silence. “I’m proud of myself. I feel good about it.”

The biggest regret he has, Miller said, was that he didn’t kill more people.

Closing arguments on Monday.

And the clip!

“Yeah, I probably would have,” he told Howe. “If you had been there, I’d have probably shot you too.”

He doesn't appear as unhinged as I'd expected.

Sounds like there was fireworks to start with this morning.

Jury gets the case in Frazier Cross trial

10 a.m.

A judge has ejected a white supremacist from a Kansas courtroom after the man objected to jury instructions in his murder trial, saying he doesn’t respect the process.

Frazier Glenn Cross is acting as his own attorney. The 74-year-old repeatedly complained Monday that the court was telling the jurors what to think.

There usually is with this guy. Too bad this wasn't streamed.

So, the jury has had enough time to introduce themselves, pick a foreman & fill out verdict forms. Any guesses on when they'll be back? I'm sure there will be another outburst when verdict is read!
