Even if there was, isn't it void if a person commits suicide? I'm not sure???

My mother owns a insurance agency here in Florida & at her company they have a two year suicide exclusion. Though from what I've learned from her that can differ from company to company.

By using fire to cover his crime, imho, causes the crime scene to be in chaos, thus destroying any evidence, or at the least, evidence being contaminated by the presence of first responders who'd job is to put the fire out first, then investigate, or discover the victim.

There is a reason why police call the fire department the Evidence Eradication Team.

I missed the beginning of today's testimony. But I'll tell you, his version of the events that night don't stand up to the smell test.

He already had Vashti in his arms, allegedly, he's not going to throw her back on the bed in a burning bedroom. At the least he'd move her into the hallway, before running to the children, to at least get her away from the licking flames.

IMHO, he shot Vashti prior to getting the boys, but hadn't set the house on fire yet. The gunshot probably woke up the kids and he most likely heard them crying for their mom. He rushed into their room and grabbed them, explaining the loud noise was thunder and there was something wrong and he needed to take them to the car or outside. He then buckled them into their seats and then ran back inside to set the fire. I don't think even he would endanger the kids by setting the house on fire before they were out of harms way.

He was most likely already in the home and had just set the fire when he called 911, thus his sounding out of breath. He over reacted in his phone call. He's supposed to be a seasoned LE, they do NOT act out of control in a moment of crisis like he allegedly appeared.

BS said fireman are stupid, or something like that. He had to show how mocho he is by running back into a burning fire and trying to save the day. I'm waiting for the superman cape to be revealed.

Wonder if the pros was aware he was going to trash the victim like this? An affair with a VP of COX, puhleeze! .............. I wanna' see the proof!

Can we pin this post to the top of the thread! IMO that is the timeline for Mr Seacat on the night he killed his sons' mother.

Per hWild:

The great @tedrowlands says that #Seacat showed emotion, overly dramatic but never she a tear. He is in the court room. Jury was attentive

Most have suicide clause no coverage for first two years.

Are we close to starting back? Kids are being uncooperative and I wanted to have peace when recess was over

It is very hard to find any information on BS or the trial. I did however find this article about the house and insurance. Nothing about Life Insurance.

The Seacat residence, which has been sitting in ruins since the night Vashti was killed, will soon go up on the auction block. With Seacat in jail for his wife's murder, he hasn't been making mortgage payments. But Rich Forrest, Vashti's brother, disputes that Brett Seacat was even on the deed to the house and that, late last year, a judge ruled that Brett Seacat was common-law married to another woman before he was married to Vashti.

"Which brings up the question to our family, was he ever in fact married to my sister?" Seacat said. "And if he was not, does he have any entitlement to any insurance money that exists? Does he have any claim to anything?"

I think Fran is right on point. The kids were still in the house when V was shot. Thus the thunder talk (thunder = gun shot). If the kids were in the car buckled up, it would be unlikely they would have heard it (possibly, but not as loud as if they were in the next room).

I tend to think/agree that BS shot V, then took the boys/doggies out of the house and buckled them in the car. Then went back in and set the fire (making sure she was dead first).

He used the whole getting the kids out of the house and buckling them up, as well as the doggies, to put time between the fire and 911 call. He had to make sure that enough evidence was burned before calling 911.

JMHO.

Sorry but the guy sucks. plain and simple

I'm kinda glad I can't see his face while he is testifying to all this alternate reality stuff. But his voice does indeed remind me of another unsavory character who also sucks plain and simple... :D

I have wondered some more about why Brett Seacat would make a point of saying the boy's nightlight was off and their door was closed. I think he is hoping that a juror or two thinks that Vashti wanted Brett to have to take longer to get the boys and therefore not be able to get out of the house before it blew up with her, her boys and Mr Wonderful dead inside it.

Please just hand it to Prosecutor... Please...

He remembers saying that he had to get that car out of there...

Not before this.. but only now does he realize this..

He left the key to volkswagon in the house.. So he had the keys to the truck but not the volkswagon when he was running out.

He does not remember if he moved the boys first or the dogs first....

Nice.

  • #1,199
How did he put the kids in the car without the keys? Such BS...
