RICHMOND, Ky. (FOX 35 ORLANDO) - A Kentucky man is behind bars, accused of abusing a newborn girl so viciously that he broke 27 of her bones. Kentucky man accused of breaking 27 bones in newborn

The child had around 27 bone fractures, the arrest citation reportedly said, including her skull and spine, and was suffering from retinal hemorrhaging and other internal injuries. Kentucky man charged with child abuse after newborn girl found with 27 bone fractures

On May 25, paramedics and Richmond police officers were dispatched to a home in Madison County. Dykes’ daughter was taken to the hospital where medical staff treated her for 27 fractures in her skull, ribs, spine, arms, legs, hands and feet, according to medical records. She had bruises on her head and stomach.
[snip]
Dykes allegedly told investigators he became enraged and blacked out before slamming the infant against a bed and punching her, police said. He allegedly resurfaced from the rage to find his daughter with cuts and bruises on her head.
Infant hospitalized for nearly 30 bone fractures. Central Kentucky father charged.

"She was beaten with his fist in her head. She was picked up and slammed on the floor several times. It’s unimaginable that a father could do this to their daughter," Richmond Police Assistant Chief Rodney Richardson said.

I can’t even imagine a punishment befitting this crime. Incarceration just doesn’t seem enough.
Praying for this little girl.

I hope she doesn't suffer too many long term effects I cannot believe she survived such a heinous beating. poor lil thing. One of the linked articles states in March he attacked his GF the mother and choked/strangled her. With the baby being 3 months old that would mean she was either ready to give birth or had just given birth around that time.

Baby bones are flexible and don't break easily. I cannot imagine the force necessary to cause those injuries. Going to try to read up on more of the domestic situation/ mom. Poor, poor baby girl.

ETA from the fourth article in the first post, Police: Newborn child 'lucky to be alive' after father breaks 27 of her bones, "Dykes told officers he has multiple personality disorder, had a lot of stress and went into a rage. He went as far as to describe the violent acts using a teddy bear and apologizing for his actions."

Multiple personality disorder? Doubt it, but if so should have been medicated, no?

It also says he was her primary caregiver. MOO, but I wonder if that means mom was working outside the home and "dad" stayed home.

Mom was assaulted in March, so probably after she gave birth.

Well, he sounds like such a prize. I hope LE throws the book at him, there's no excuse for what he's done.

Babies' bones are so soft and pliable compared to an adults bones, so he had to have been using a great amount of force repeatedly for this to happen, IMO.

With his history (as mentioned above) and now what he has done to this little bundle of innocence (his own flesh and blood, no less), if he ever sees the light of day...he is a time bomb just waiting to kill, maim and destroy. This crime is what the death penalty is all about, IMHO, MOO.

Sean Dykes - admitted to unimaginable crimes against his 3 month old baby.

According to the arrest citation, Dykes said the only possible explanation was he punched the baby in the head and agreed all the evidence suggested he was responsible. He said he was sorry for abusing her and would apologize to her if he could.

Oh, okay he is sorry! gimme a break!

right?? he shouldn't even be allowed to mumble the words.

thanks, I missed that, so this guy has a history of violence in the home.
Appears that way, I need to find it again but there was another article that said he was the primary caretaker. I'm going to keep digging again to find that and find out maybe why.

So, according to the above articles, this guy was arrested in 2018 for beating and trying to strangle the mom of the child while she was pregnant. Nothing came from that, apparently. Then, later we learn that HE is appointed primary caregiver for this child. I SURELY MUST BE MISSING SOMETHING IF THIS IS TRUE. Is this true, does anyone know?

In this article it says:
Dykes also was accused in March of shoving his girlfriend and her mother to the ground and attempting to strangle one of them.
