Flatwoods and Raceland officers arrested Carrie Hall, 25, in Greenup County on Friday around 12:45 p.m. Chief Sammons said the Kentucky State Police arrested Jacob Hall in Boyd County around 3:10 p.m.

WURTLAND, Ky. (WSAZ) - A man and woman from Wurtland are facing charges of murder and criminal abuse in connection with the death of their 6-week-old daughter.

The charges stem from an incident on Nov. 29, 2023.

The couple were separated. Carrie Hall was arrested in Greenup County and is being held at the Greenup County Detention Center, while Jacob Hall was arrested in Boyd County by state police and is being held at the Boyd County Detention Center.

I am trying to figure that out myself. I tend to believe the obituary. So far I have only seen the one article refer to the infant as a female.

I was under the impression at the time of the death the couple were still a couple. Since the death they have separated. Is that not the case? Baby died in November of 2023. It has taken a year for the case to be brought to GJ and for the subsequent indictments.

hopefully the details will eventually come and clear up some of these questions. So far the reporting has been confusing as all get out. Boy/girl? Name improperly spelled, COD? etc. Hoping for more concrete info as the case progresses.

yes and it appears there are other, older children involved with the two charged parents.

per this article the couple is on track for an April 6th 2026 trial. Their final pre-trial is set for April 2, 2026
