This is an ID I've been hoping for for a very long time. Thank you so much, Othram for giving Patricia her name back. I looked on Ancestry and found nothing matching her. I wish more was known about her. We still don't even have a concrete year of death.

Patricia was seemingly older than originally thought. She was believed to be 12-16 by some estimates, but she was around 18-20 at the time if the PMI is accurate.

Either way, rest in peace, Patricia.

Thank you @othram for giving Patricia Armentrout her name back. She was one of my pet cases along with Pamela Hupp formerly Lake Pontchartrain Jane Doe.

Her supposed age of death being 18-20 does surprise me a little, considering Patricia was estimated to be a little younger. Hopefully we find out more about her soon including a photo.

Found some more information about Patricia M Armentrout. It turns out she was adopted and lived under a different name when she was alive. Her identity was only confirmed when investigators received her birth certificate from a family member in another state.

The video also states that she was last seen in West Virginia in the 1970s. Warning there’s a photo of her remains

“I was sitting, working a detail, and I got an email that had a report in it from Othram,” Shirley said.
Othram, a forensic laboratory in Texas, had been contacted by KSP to analyze the bones, which had been tucked away in evidence for years. Using advanced DNA technology, the lab was able to develop a DNA profile from the remains, a major step forward in the investigation''.

“This is a case that really and truly was stuck. An identity couldn’t be determined. It took DNA testing. It took genetic genealogy and then it took some pretty spectacular work on behalf of investigators to dig through a very complicated story to get to the bottom of who she was,” said Dr. David Mittelman, CEO of Othram.''

Patricia Armentrout​

In July 1984, a woman's body was found along Interstate 65 just south of Bowling Green.

In 2022, the Kentucky Office of the Medical Examiner sent the woman's DNA to Othram. In October 2024, she was identified as Patricia Armentrout, who was 20 at the time of her death.

That is not the name the woman actually used, though. She'd been born in Bethesda, Maryland, but was adopted, according to Othram's website. Forensic genealogy allowed investigators to find her biological family, but they are still searching for what her name became once adopted
