Found Safe KY - Charlee Campbell, 2, *autistic* & Pitbull Terrier Named Penny, Bullitt County, 7 Jun 2018

Also per article above:
"He also said a family friend was seen at the home and that deputies were planning to search his property."

Who is this family friend? I don't like this at all. The whole story has been suspicious from the beginning. This isn't looking good for Charlee.
I thought that was a reference to Bailey but I could be wrong.

Possibly bad reporting, or the grandparents called him a family friend before clarifying he's related.

Now I'm wondering if Penny is truly missing. We've received a lot of conflicting information. At least LE has.

I really hope they find little Charlee and her dog safe. I would think if they were in the woods they would have been found by now, unless the dog wasn't with her. Really confusing case.

Now I'm wondering if Penny is truly missing. We've received a lot of conflicting information. At least LE has.
A quick summary: 1) Family friend leaves at 4:30 am. 2) Grandfather leaves at 5:30 am, says Charlee was asleep in her bed. 3) Grandmother awakes at 9:30 am and finds the door open and Charlee and Penny gone. 4) Neighbors video shows no other cars coming or going. 5) Cadaver dogs hit on family pool.

Yep, we've been here before, I think. Hope I'm wrong though.

Edited to add two other points I forgot--so I'll start at: 6) Grandmother initially forgot to mention to LE about the family friend leaving at 4:30 am. 7) Sheriff [earlier] doubtful Charlee is "missing" in the woods.

Wait, someone was walking TO the house at 4:30? Not from the house? At the same time cousin/family friend left?

Searchers looking for missing toddler in Bullitt County
Investigators are also reviewing home surveillance video from a neighbor showing a man walking to the house around 4:30 the morning Charlee disappeared.
Investigators will be searching his property today.
The sheriff says no matter the situation, crews will not give up on this search.

If Charlee is no longer with us and the pool is involved, then why would the dog be missing too? I'm beginning to think maybe the dog fatally injured her and they put her in the pool to cover it up and are hiding the dog. :( I'm so praying this is really a custody dispute and she is safe somwhere.

It's not looking like they're in the woods.

That exact thought crossed my mind as well.

I posted earlier thinking that this case was going to end well. And it had to go all pear-shaped after that, didn't it?

A couple of thoughts.
Pit bulls: as noted, this breed is extremely loyal, but it's also got certain breed traits which can be negatively reinforced depending on the surroundings. One pittie can be a fine family dog; more than one can start to get volatile especially with line bred from fighting stock.
The grandparents' pool: is it covered or opened? That might seem like a strange question, but not everyone opens their swimming pools even in the summer.

It's covered.

I don't think the poor dog had anything to do with it.Sadly we know who the true monsters usually turn out to be.

Animals take better care of their babies than some humans.

Right now the possibilities are endless. I feel sick for Charlee. Just sick.

No matter what the circumstances, the responsibility ultimately goes back to the caretakers of the child.

Sure seems like a lot of people converging on the grandparent's house the day before Charlee's disappearance. The Dad of Charlee and then some sort of relative who stayed the night. The timing seems odd imo.

@ about 5:04 minutes:
It’s been going on for a while. Actually, the father told me that he hasn’t seen the child since last September. So, he has been out of the picture; the actual father. But now he was down here yesterday afternoon with some family and went back to the house and talked. And I think they denied him visitation for whatever reason. But we don’t know all the details yet.

I’m not positive, but it is my impression Charlee’s real Dad is somewhat cleared in the investigators minds. Since this presser was from today, I think he is saying that Charlee’s Dad came to the house yesterday afternoon, most likely after finding out she was missing and has not been in contact with her since last fall.

IMO

Also, I think the friend/relative/temporary POI are the same person, and it’s just been reported in the most confusing way possible. I think he was probably named a POI because he was the one seen on camera near the house at 4:30 and the police probably hadn’t been told about him until finding the video?

All IMOO. Lots of confusing details to sort through

It seems to me that they are not telling the truth of when she went missing and how.
