Found Safe KY - Charlee Campbell, 2, *autistic* & Pitbull Terrier Named Penny, Bullitt County, 7 Jun 2018

Also, I think the friend/relative/temporary POI are the same person, and it’s just been reported in the most confusing way possible. I think he was probably named a POI because he was the one seen on camera near the house at 4:30 and the police probably hadn’t been told about him until finding the video?

All IMOO. Lots of confusing details to sort through

That's what I'm wondering, because earlier it was said RB left the house at 4.30 am, and that was after it was reported there was a man hanging around the house about 4.30 am.

But is he still a POI or not?

With four cadaver dogs alerting I don't see how this can now have a happy ending :-( I hope I'm wrong, Charlee is adorable and precious and innocent.

I’m not positive, but it is my impression Charlee’s real Dad is somewhat cleared in the investigators minds. Since this presser was from today, I think he is saying that Charlee’s Dad came to the house yesterday afternoon, most likely after finding out she was missing and has not been in contact with her since last fall.

IMO
Oh, I don't think Charlee's father has anything to do with this at all. I question when Charlee actually went missing and whether or not Charlee's was, in fact, at Grandma's.

He has been cleared per reports.

Please help me understand these statements from an article at WDRB.com
Family member in custody as search continues for missing girl in Bullitt County

"Police say right now Robert Bailey is considered a person of interest in the case. "

Then from the same article:

"Bullitt County Sheriff Donnie Tinnell says Bailey was a guest in the home from 11 p.m. on June 6 to 4:30 a.m. on June 7.

Tinnell says the grandmother initially forgot to tell police Bailey was there. He is not a suspect in this case, although Tinnell says he is a convicted felon with an outstanding warrant. He did not say what the warrant was for. "

Is he a person of interest or no?
A bit late on this one, but I think that what they were saying is that they don't believe he had anything to do with her disappearance, but think he may have seen something that might be useful.

Do cadaver dogs recognize diff between human & animal remains?

Say, for instance a raccoon or opossum got under the pool cover & died--- are these dogs going to hit on that scent? Or no? Anyone.

I so wish she was somewhere safe watching cartoons & drinking lemonade.

(Edit: gah, I'm so dramatic. Just picturing my kids at that age. Sick to no end about children going missing)

I agree. Do cadaver dogs recognize diff between human & animal remains?

Day, for instance a raccoon or opossum got under the pool cover & died--- are these dogs going to hit on that scent? Or no? Anyone.

What I've heard is that pigs are the only other animal that they respond to, but I have no idea if that's true. They have to be trained to check for human scent or they'd be going crazy (and taking everyone with them) if they responded to the scent of every animal that had died in the vicinity. MOO

Well it's looking like "someone died" in or around the pool. Unless all four dogs are mistaken. And I'm wondering if grandpa really checked in on Charlee at 5:30 am before he left for work? I'm not sure if I buy that. I know my husband doesn't look in on our kids before he leaves each morning because he doesn't want to wake them. If grandma likes to sleep in that's all the more reason not to risk waking little Charlee.

Trained cadaver dogs only respond to the scent of dead humans. They are not confused by other dead animals.

I thought that was odd as well. Wondering if he looked in on her everyday before he went to work.

Dozens search Bullitt County for missing 2-year-old

Charlee's mother, Natalie Quick, said she understands why authorities interviewed her family.

"This is their job. Everybody has a job to do and no matter what it takes, if this is what you got to do to bring my daughter home then let’s do it. If you got to question me and search the house, whatever you got to go to bring her home let’s do it. I have nothing to hide, just find my kid," Quick said.
Is that quote from the video because it isn't in the story you linked.

Thank you @Confusion and @Jethro. Good to know. God have mercy on this little girl.

Oh wow, I copied and pasted from my browser and just refreshed (after I saw your post) and it's no longer there. I will go back and delete. I wish I had taken a screen shot before I refreshed.

You can see an interview with Charlee's mom at this link by clicking on the line at the bottom of the video that shows a negative time.
Subtract 5:30 Eastern time from the current time (Eastern time) and go that many negative minutes back.
WAVE 3 News Live Stream

For example it is 5:41 where I am at. 5:41-5:30 is 11 minutes or -11:00 on the bar. It should be close to where to start watching. As time moves forward the amount of time you have to go back increases.

I don't think the poor dog had anything to do with it.Sadly we know who the true monsters usually turn out to be.
Animals take better care of their babies than some humans.

...the door was open...
Scary -- she may have seen something & wanted to get closer to it; the dog could have sensed another dog or person near their house and began barking & wanted to get out -- Charlie could have let the dog out and then followed him. If her dog was chasing another dog or person, or both, there's no telling where their dog and their Charlie may be. SMH.

No worries. Things are moving fast as the news programs for the various channels get stories out. It appears that Natalie Quick has done interviews with more than one station or media outlet. So, that quote will probably come back at some time.

There is a video at this link which shows the sheriff having trouble holding back tears. They don't think Charlee even had shoes on. It's bad when the sheriff cries.

Here is the link. I have trouble playing it, but it's probably due to problems on my end. (Someone else posted this earlier but I only discovered the video when I went back to check for information about the pool cover--sorry I can't remember who the original poster was to credit).

And at the time of the video, they said they were considering withdrawing the searchers. That's a bad sign, too.

Person of interest cleared, search for missing 2-year-old in Bullitt County continues

The thing is that if there was a body in that pool, as indicated by the cadaver dogs, it didn't get out by itself.

I hope that doesn't come over as snarky. That's not my intent in response to *you*, but I can feel it in myself as I'm thinking about what might have happened to little Charlee.
