IIRC, it was reported she was sick to her stomach at the neighbor's home and again at the police station. I wonder if anyone though to collect that evidence.

I agree re the hospital - can't imagine they would have pumped her stomach.

I can’t stop thinking about the four hits by the cadaver dogs. A 17 year old girl vanished in 2009 from same town of Shephardsville. I don’t see that she was ever found, but there’s barely any information.

I believe it’s an above ground pool, but let me see if I can find the reason I think that

Hmmm, I can’t find anything that would support my opinion. Does anyone know if it was an in ground pool?

ETA satellite photos of the property show a large round object that I would guess is the pool. I think I saw the pool in a news clip and that is why I believe it’s an above ground.

Yeah, the differences in ages in this case have me laughing for sure.
This case: Grandma is 40 and has a 2-year-old grandchild.
Me: I am nearly 52 and have one child who is 12.

My youngest uncle is a year older than I am, and had a niece and nephew when he was born. My grandmother became a grandmother at 38, but had her last baby at 40.A friend of mine had a 16 year old mother, a 32 year old grandmother, and a 48 year old great-grandmother when she was born; when she turned 16, the entire family watched her like a hawk. You just never know.

I think the second one is actually the one at Charlee's home, but--as usual--I'm confused. Possibly the first one is at the home of Mr. Brown?

At least they are both above-ground pools--so that wouldn't change anything in that direction; but if we are wondering about a location of a very old burial ground, it could matter.

I believe the 2nd one with the deck attached to it is at Charlee's grandparent's home. A brief video clip showed the dogs alerting on the pool and they were on the deck in the video. Perhaps something could be under that deck too?

Sorry to switch the topic again, but I had a thought about where she was during the searches and how she got to the house where she was found. I think it's possible that someone took her, for whatever reason, and Penny either got into the car with them or followed the car. The person may have done something to her first, or may have just wanted to get rid of her, but she was put out of the car on the far side of that home so it took a couple of days to get there. I think Penny may have been leading her home, but brought her to that house when they came to it knowing she could get help. Once she believed Charlee would be okay, Penny ran home for food and water (and maybe to try to let them know where Charlee was and that she was okay.) Since Penny would be more sure footed in that kind of terrain, she wouldn't be likely to get as messed up and dirty as Charlee did, and she probably wouldn't have felt like she was abandoning her if she had left her at somebody's house. She could have even been watching at a distance to make sure someone took her in. All MOO again.

Any chance this could be what happened, or am I missing the obvious that makes it totally unlikely?

Here's some more information about private/family cemeteries in Kentucky. The article addresses identified cemeteries, but there are also family plots that become unidentified after generations of land transfer and environmental changes.

IME. It's not uncommon for a forgotten grave site to cause a small sinkhole to suddenly appear in a pasture. As the buried remains and container decay, the dirt above becomes unstable.

I have no idea if this topic applies to the quadruple-alert by the sniffer dogs in and around the Charlee family pool, but it's one "innocent" explanation I can imagine.

I'm a little surprised that local media haven't approached the Sheriff to ask for clarification about what may be responsible for the enthusiastic affirmative responses from the dogs.

I don't really understand what the sheriff is getting at. Is he suggesting that possibly "two people" coordinated dropping Charlee off maybe at the end of Mr. Brown's driveway and dropping Penny off near a back-way into her home--so they would both re-appear at almost the same time?

Beth's mother said in one of her interviews that Penny did have ticks on her. Apparently, Beth gave her a bath and removed them. But a person can't believe anything they say. So.

Edited to add--If I recall correctly the distance was approximately 1/4 of a mile between the two homes. That's a long way for a toddler, though; and I understand the terrain was very, very difficult.

I don't find it strange that the dog wasn't dirty. Dogs can shake dirt and leave off themselves and she probably was treated with anti tick medication if she lives in an area with ticks.

This may sound petty, BUT... if the dog had tick preventative meds, and this child was neglected, it's going to piss me off even more.

I live in an area that has ticks but I never gave my children anti tick medication, only the dog. I am not sure that the child was neglected except for those hours her grandmother left without supervision, because she was very careless.

State child protective services seems to think that the home was one of neglect. Grandma is an addict on hard drugs; those kinds of addicts tend to get distracted easily and not just one time. When you're a meth head, obtaining meth comes first, before everything else. Always.
