You can't take only 65 to Ft. Knox from Bardstown, you would take Bluegrass Parkway to E-town & head north on the Dixie or on 65. Most locals avoid the traffic on 65 at all costs unless traveling to Louisville.

I thought you were saying from Etown. When I lived in Louisville I took the interstates e wry where I went. Now that I live outside of Louisville, I take the back ways everywhere. It's like I had no concept of traffic and congestion until I stopped driving in it.

The what's for dinner question/answer is a joke. BH did not admit he does not remember what is for dinner because this would be most likely unbelievable...He knows she was cooking for about an hour and a half but does not say meat and potatoes or roast chicken or homemade pizza....he says nothing special haha what a joke. I personally could only think of 3 reasons why I would answer the dinner question this way. 1) We had an argument, I got mad and left the house to plot my next moves for the evening and was not there to see what she ate. 2) I know what she ate for dinner...nothing!...because something had already happened by then and if I say she had hotdogs for dinner, they won't find hotdogs in her stomach during the autopsy if they find her body and get close to T.O.D. 3) We did actually have roast beef and potatoes but if I share this info and they do find her body and autopsy results show how far along the food was digested LE can tell when she was killed (assuming she is found dead) and that time could very well be close to when I said she was playing games on her cell phone...just MHO. Has it been confirmed that relatives of BH did see CR that Friday night like at 8pm or 9pm at the small family gathering on BH's side?

I don't know why it's always bothered me but he mentions them having leftovers and the kind of food that is quick because they had somewhere to be. An hour and a half to cook leftovers is a long time. I want to know if she was really at the get together that Friday evening. Not only have I not heard anything otherwise in the news, I've also not heard anything from friends around town.

Yes it all seems quiet from his side. Why is that? A personal statement from his family, something, anything. Ive seen a post or two from a friend in SM but nothing formal. It just seems strange to be. MOO

The whole thing of her leaving the baby there makes no sense to me. I have been thinking of scenarios.

IMO, they fought. She left and took the baby with her, that explains why the diaper bag was in her car. He chased after her. Somehow got her to pull over. Did something to her. Took the baby with him (left the purse and personal items but didn't think to take the diaper bag.) Disposed of the body.

I kind of think the same thing. Or I wonder if something happened on the way back from the get together that Friday night and she never actually made it home. Which then makes me wonder if maybe he called someone for help. I wonder what car they took to the house that night. Other than his work truck, I don't know if he has another car so I also wonder if they would normally take hers when they were going somewhere with the baby.

It seems that arranging for her to show one of their rental properties to a "stranger" would create the perfect opportunity to do something dirty while keeping your own hands clean. IMO she never made it home for dinner or to the family farm. :moo:

I think someone would've heard something if she hadn't made it to the family get together. It's a small town and everyone talks.

Sn: I found the statute for cars left on highways and interstates. It's KRS 189.753 for abandoned vehicles on state highways. If the vehicle has been left for 3 consecutive days, it's then considered abandoned and LE tags it and has it towed. From there, they have to notify the owner by mail after running the plates or serial number to determine who it belongs to.

Who else attended this "family farm get together"? She must have dropped the youngest off with his father before she went to the real estate appointment. Do agents show houses with children in tow? WAS the showing confirmed? Could the diaper bag be always left in the car for convenience? What food items were picked up at Walmart? Were those items found at her home? Were they part of the questionable dinner? JMO

BBM IIRC someone posted up-thread that the Friday night trip to the farm was with just BH, CR and their son. The big family get together was on Saturday and BH already stated that Crystal was not there. :moo:

:seeya: Good Morning, Y'all !

Checking to see if there are any updates ... just did a Google search and found nothing new :gaah:

Any suggestions for websites to check for updates ?

TIA!

That's what I'm confused about. Was it the moms farm they went to Friday night? And then the uncles house he went to that Saturday? Or is it backwards? When I read the transcripts, it was hard to tell from his answer and he kept bringing up his uncle and his age and where he lived that it made it confusing lol.

I can't find anything. They haven't been reporting on it as much so there's really nothing going on there. I've been checking FB to read the news articles on her missing page. I was also reading another online forum that I usually don't like reading because it's for local communities so there's a lot of gossip but her whole thread has disappeared from the city and county pages...hmmm.

:seeya: Thanks, jULIA!

Yes, now that's very interesting that that thread "disappeared" ... hmmm is right!

Where is Crystal?

Maybe there were too many rumors and they shut it down because it was hurting the investigation? Hopefully no news is good news. I wonder if they've finished searching her car. I'm not sure how long that takes, especially if something was sent to the crime lab in Frankfort.

I had no idea that there was an unsolved double homicide in Bardstown and an unsolved murder of a police officer.

Yes confusing indeed haha...what I think makes it confusing is BH is talking like Inspector Clouseau and NG is either trying to be too sneaky and is confusing the situation more or she is truly lost when conducting her interview.

GRACE: After 5:00. And what, if anything, did she do at that time?
HOUCK: It was a normal -- normal evening. At that point, she showed the property and came home.
GRACE: Well, what day of the week was this?
HOUCK: This was on Friday, would have been July 3rd, 2015.
(So rather than ask about the rest of the evening at this point, NG asks about their July 4th plans and this causes some confusion)
GRACE: Did you have July 4th plans?
HOUCK: Yes, we did.
GRACE: What were they?
HOUCK: My uncle, Fabian Ballard, and Loreto, about 49, had a large gathering at his home. My mother has a very large family, there`s 13 brothers and sisters, and we -- we had planned on going there on Saturday, July 4th.
GRACE: Did you go?
HOUCK: Yes, I did. I went with my family.
GRACE: And what time that was?
HOUCK: That was about 5:00 or 5:30 on Saturday --
GRACE: OK. Let me understand the timeline, Mr. Houck. So on Friday night, she shows a property in the evening, well, the evening, she gets home after 5:00.
(Confusion sets in)
HOUCK: No. Incorrect. Incorrect.
GRACE: No? OK. Explain.
HOUCK: Friday evening.
GRACE: Friday? Yes, that`s what I said.
HOUCK: July 3rd.
GRACE: Correct. That`s what I said

Then later on after the supper conversation.......

HOUCK: She did not. We just ate here at the house. It wasn`t anything special or new anything like that. We knew that we had plans, wasn`t going to kill a lot of -- kill a lot of time and then we proceeded -- we proceeded out there to the family farm.
GRACE: OK. Now. On July 4th I thought was the family farm get-together, no?
HOUCK: Well, the Fourth, that right there is another family member.
GRACE: Oh, I get it.
HOUCK: That we went to.

(So now instead of NG asking details about what family farm they went to Friday night she decides just to skip to what happened when the got back home)

GRACE: I get it. So that night, you get back and what was she doing when you went to bed?
HOUCK: She was playing games on her phone.

So after trying to understand this clown show, to me it seems that Friday night was probably the mother's farm BH and CR went to for a visit...then for sure on Saturday was the uncle's place because BH's mom has 13 bros and sis' so lots of people were gonna be there.

Any word if the older children have been questioned? The two she dropped off to dad are old enough to know if they went to Wal-Mart prior to being dropped off.

They could be a wealth of information. They would know who she was on the phone with and if they were arguing and what was said during all the phone conversations.

Kids are very good 'listeners'!

I'm not sure from just the transcript (not having seen the show/heard the audio) whether he was actually answering the question about cooking with his "hour and a half" statement. I thought so at first, but now I think he meant something else.

GRACE: And what did you guys do for supper that night?

HOUCK: We just ate here -- we ate here at the house.

GRACE: Did she cook?

HOUCK: For about an hour and a half and then we left here about 7:30.

A bit later when Nancy asked again, "Did she cook that night, Brooks?" he replied, "She did not." (Hey! A straightforward answer, imagine that.) That's in line with the assertion that they were having leftovers/something quick.

Since he did state directly that she didn't cook that night, his statement only really makes sense if he was saying they were "at the house" "for about an hour and a half" —in other words, from when she got home from showing the rental property (which could have been around 6, considering the WalMart receipt time stamp plus the rental house showing) to when they supposedly left for the family farm (7:30).

Another thought:

Actually, re-reading the section of transcript right before the one about supper, it still seems to me that BH is saying Crystal brought two children home with her that evening, not just the 2 1/2 year old. I'd love to know how old the other child is. Old enough to confirm that yes, they did go somewhere that night? Or that maybe they went somewhere all together, but mommy stayed behind? That kind of thing?

Why does this other child not figure into BH's narrative of the rest of the night? Where was this other child while the baby was running around loose at midnight while Crystal supposedly played games? If this child was likewise dropped off, like the other kids who weren't BH's, why was that left out of his timeline of events? Is there something sensitive about it?

[Relevant part of the transcript below, BBM:]

GRACE: So Friday evening, she shows the property at a multi-property spot that had been advertised in the standard. She gets home after 5:00 and what children, if any, did she have with her at that time?

HOUCK: Two children.

GRACE: And --

HOUCK: The other two children had already been dropped off at their dad's house.

GRACE: And what did you guys do for supper that night?

I have always wondered about that discrepancy in number of children that came home versus number of children heading out to family farm. The oldest daughter was with grandmother, 2nd oldest lives with other grandparents, boy & girl were dropped off to their dad prior to real estate showing. That only leaves 2 year old. Why would he lie about that detail? In addition if the second child was there for the night did a Brooks contact the child's father & say -hey Crystal is no where to be found, want me to drop off Suzie Q? Just does not make sense.

Crystal's little boy is turning 10 tomorrow. The community is trying to throw him an an impromptu birthday party and are gathering up things to help him celebrate since the family is so busy with searches. They said that all he has asked for is for his mommy to come home. :( Bardstown has some mighty fine people living there. I have faith that he will have a good birthday and maybe will get his little mind off his mommy for a little while.
