Does anyone know what that sister failed in poloygraph?
Jury Seated in Pembroke Triple Murder Trial

Diana Phillips testified last month during an evidentiary hearing that she found what she thought was a shell casing on the back porch of her brother’s residence five months after the murders. Defense attorney Tom Griffiths said the fact Diana failed a polygraph given by investigators about finding the shell casing should be admitted as part of Martin’s defense.

Judge Atkins disagreed and said the polygraph will not be admitted as evidence. He also ruled the shell casing found will be allowed as evidence.

He was court martialed even without the Phillips' testimony.

The court-martial found Martin guilty of two counts of mishandling classified information and assault on a child under the age of 16, an Army statement said. He was punitively dismissed from the Army, forfeited all pay and allowances and was sentenced to be confined for 90 days.

Pilot accused of triple murder claimed in interview one victim had affair with his 'bigamist' ex-wife
Thanks, Interesting article

Waay too many initials for me to follow this story.
What's the point of using initials? To identify the people involved?
How about first names?
This story in itself is confusing, nevermind only using initials.
Personally, I don't appreciate having to stop after every initial, to figure out what person has those initials.
Thanks in advance :-)

So, after reading the Daily Mail article let me see if I have this straight: CM "marries" JH in 2004 (but wait...she's still married to husband #2 and lied to CM about the circumstances of that marriage). In 2014, CM files for divorce but come to find out, their marriage was never legal since JH was still married to husband #2. In the meantime, JH has been having an affair with the neighbor, CP (unknown when the affair started). Following CM's telling JH of his intention to file for divorce in 2014, CP and JH gather evidence that leads to a court martial of CM. The military hearing was scheduled to occur in 12/15 and CP was supposed to be a witness at the military hearing, however its in dispute as to whether he was to be a witness for the defense or prosecution.

On 11/19/15 (approximately 2 wks before the military hearing), CM allegedly kills CP in his basement and attempts to burn down the house so CP will not be found after the house collapses. He then allegedly kills CP's wife (PP) and his neighbor, ED, and proceeds to place their bodies in a car together and set it on fire. The purpose of killing PP and ED (according to CP's good friend) and placing them in the car together was to make it look like they were having an affair and that CP killed them, burned his house down and then went on the run. Except, CP's house didn't burn and he was found dead.

Ugh, what a mess. So diabolical and just evil.

What do you think happened? I’m confused :(

CP was murdered in the morning, then thrown in the cellar? Then ED came over in the afternoon, found the dog tags on the ground outside, picked them up and put them on the shelf? Did he go over because he saw CM over there? When was he killed and where, in the house then? PP came home after work, walked in and screamed...because she saw a dead body or because someone was there waiting for her?

I am sitting on the confused fence with you!.
All IMO

Calvin was pushed/tossed down the cellar stairs after being shot. When? Early in the afternoon. Had to have been in the daytime before Pam comes home from work.
Someone did try to clean blood up in the kitchen, but it wasn't a big area.
Blood is found in the back yard, with the old gun that appears to be Edward's. The holster was in his chair, along with a piece of fish for supper that night thawing in the kitchen, the window overlooks the Phillip's back porch. He had spoken to his girlfriend and mentioned cooking fish for supper. I can't verify time of that call.
Pam comes home, killer is there, Ed sees this through his window, runs out with his gun. Doesn't shoot, nor call 911.
Ed lays in the back yard until ? Because they both wind up in Pam's car and driven away to be found burned the next day, Nov 19
Both loaded up in Pam's car .
Kit took off his dog tags and laid em on the shelf with Calvin's phone and wallet. Ok.O H and they were hung on kite string(appearing)
Pam's phone winds up in Joan's yard. Joan takes it to AT&T, several weeks later, I think.
A 22 casing was found in the ?kitchen, if I heard correctly today.
A 45 casing was found 5 months later, mysteriously. Where was that casing found in relation to this cellar door?
All those cops went in there and they looked at Calvin's wallet, did they look at/take the phone? Why not look at the item on the string?
Joan and son now get their subpoena's squashed completely and don't have to testify. Whereas, it should have been they have to come to court and can take the 5th. Why would either need to take the 5th?????

Has anyone done a timeline?

6/7/21 Monday, Day 3 of Trial: Judge Atkins informs jury that one juror has a serious medical condition and won’t be returning. One alternate left for trial. Hearing going on. It’s about Joan Harmon & her son invoking their fifth amendment rights. Prosecution says they were never suspects, but JH’s attorney said the son was once a suspect & incriminating questions by defense would come up. Bigamy thing just came up too.Judge asks defense if allowing defense witnesses to invoke the 5th would impact Kit Martin’s 6th Amendment rights. Right to invoke the 5th Amendment affirmed. State witnesses: Detective Mark Reid on cross. Katie Rogers was a paramedic. Major Garrett, re Martin’s court marital in 2016. Trial continues on 6/8/21.

Here is my idea of what happened:

Joan Harmon and Cal Phillips were having an affair so it was no problem to see her at the Phillips house as she lived in one of their houses after the split with Kit Martin. She asked for the Phillips help when she had no place else to go. And, what happened? Cal went over to the house to "work" on it And her...

Joan Harmon looks like one of those women who preys on men to get ahead. Anyway, she goes over to Cal's house when Pam is at work, with or without her son; Cal meets her/them out in the yard, he gets wounded by one of them shooting him. Then, they get him in the house where he is shot again. Reason for the shell casing found in the back near the cellar door. They toss Cal down into the cellar and try to start a fire down there to burn the house down around him. Doesn't take off burning Just charred wood and some half burned paper.

Dog tags, cell phone and wallet are planted on the shelf but too far up for discovery in a messy house. Kit's dog tags but were the wallet and cell phone his as well?

Anyway, they wait for Pam to come home and surprise her, killing her and they stuff her into the car and Ed sees that and runs out without calling 911 or even getting a gun. She/they killed him and then think "Ha, we will make it look like they are having an affair" and put him in the car as well. Had to be 2 people there since they took the car 5 miles away to the field and burned it.

I might be all wrong but there are some very devious, evil women out there preying on men for what they can get. She has got away with a lot. Married several men without divorce or widowed and got away with it. Had her kids say Martin beat them and sexually abuse her and her kids. She told Martin she would ruin him.

A rather troublesome doozy from many directions (imo)!

Good morning, this ought to be interesting testimony from the step daughter.

  • #214
I am surprised, is she Martin's girlfriends daughter? If so why is she testifying? That may mean the mother and son know something.

  • #215
Okay, for being young she certainly has no memory of stuff.

A nothing burger. Why did prosecution call her, then suggest they were going to play a video to refresh her memory, but never did. Her brother is up now.

The crime scene investigators did not find Pam until later after they got Ed's remains out of the burned out car. She must have been put in the car first so her bones were under his.

Re: the dog tags Martin is not a dumb guy. I doubt he would put his dog tags in the house if he killed 3 people there. Just screams "I did it"

I have never seen such a discombobulated, disjointed, abruptly cut off trial. It goes here, it goes there, many questions are left hanging. I sure hope much of this will be clarified. I've also never seen witnesses be allowed to ramble on.

Who is this on the stand now?

He may get away with this
