i have a ten year old daughter. omg. i can't even THINK of her being raped and beaten to death before my eyes.

i have a myspace profile. and there is NOTHING on it with my real name, location, nor the fact that i have kids. my family teases me saying 'are you ashamed that you have kids? or 'are you afraid to scare guys off because you don't show your kids' because i'm not listed as a 'proud parent' or show pictures of them in my profile.

i have been reading websleuths long enough to know you DONT DO THAT EVER!

I understand how people can be upset that Jennifer broght his man around her children, but people can be very deciving. I don't think they should be attacking her for doing this to her children...

Well, I am of the old school that you do not bring guys around your children until you are seriously dating them. Every Tom, Dick and Harry should not be exposed to your children or vice versa. You take the time to date and investigate the guy. This is your only defense against a crime such as this. We have seen it happen time and time again. Yet, there are posts such as yours that want to give the mother a free ride. Sorry, but when you become a mother, you have to put your children first.

BTW, I am certain that she didn't want this to happen to her children or herself. From her myspace, she seemed like a nice person who was extremely desperate. When you are that desperate, you leave yourself wide open to sometimes lethal mistakes.

ETA: I apologize if I sound harsh. I can assure you that I made plenty of mistakes when I was younger. I just hope and pray that everyone wises up and becomes more cautious. Sad tragedies such as this one will hopefully prevent other women and children from falling prey. Everyone really needs to be vigilant. :o

I agree. No one is attacking the adult victim, but being realistic about what can happen and how children who have no choice should be protected above all else. This was no stranger pedophile who broke in or serial killer stalking from afar. This was a recent man friend who is reported to have babysit the kids while the mom was at work. I will speak of this sort of thing without attacking unless the moderators say not to comment.

I do have a child, who I'm extreamly over protective of, thank you very much. But for all we know he may never have been around the children. I read she drove him to work, but I have never read any where she had the children with her. They could have been at school or with a friend when she was with him. We just don't know what happened. That was my point. Maybe she was old school as you put it and getting to know him when he just droped by knowing she had children and attacked. I don't think she took him but so serious. I don't see him mentioned on her myspace. Surely she were "extremely desperate" she would have been happy to have a boyfriend and write about him. I think maybe he thought it was more of a relationship than she did.

You know, I just read the Kentucky.com story all the way through for the first time.

I don't think there is a penalty available to the Justice System that adequately punishes such an incredibly vicious, animalistic crime. This guy deserves summary execution the moment he's found guilty. Period.
