Snelling had been a member of the University of Kentucky’s competitive cheer stunt squad for the past three seasons, the school told the local news station WLEX in a statement. Her arrest citation, which was obtained and reviewed by WLEX, says police were called out to Snelling’s home on 27 August to investigate a report of “a deceased infant being located inside … a closet”.

The baby was “wrapped in a towel inside … a black trash trash bag”, prompting police to read Snelling her Miranda rights as well as interrogate her, the citation said. The citation added that Snelling admitted to investigators that she had given birth to the child and then tried to conceal that by “cleaning any evidence, placing all cleaning items used inside of a black trash bag, including the infant”.

So many people would have been thrilled to adopt this sweet baby.

According to her citation, Snelling admitted to police she gave birth and concealed it by cleaning up and placing all used cleaning items inside the same black trash bag where the baby was found.

She's scheduled to appear in court in Fayette County on Tuesday afternoon.

This unfortunately seems to happen more frequently than it should. One case that eludes me had the mother posting photos from her prom/spring break, near the due date, but not really appearing pregnant.

yep, agree, it is quite obvious to me she is in her late second to beginning of her third trimester in this photo shoot posted in June. IMO there is no way people around her had no idea she was pregnant.

Her life is ruined. This is a horrible thing. Lexington has a baby box I'm pretty sure. Makes me wonder if she gave birth alone and the baby was born dead or died.

Depending on the circumstances she'll probably end up serving time. I hope she gets some mental health help. Something isn't right in this scenario.

Moo. I'm not excusing the behavior just trying to understand. UK cheerleaders' grades and behavior used to be tracked on a monthly basis.

It has not been reported if she is claiming stillbirth or what. They are awaiting the results of the autopsy.

Abortion is a felony in KY but that doesn't seem like it was something she wanted anyway. She looked AWARE of her pregnancy, had a boyfriend who seems in the picture, has some education, has a drop box plus other options available besides putting her baby in a bag in the closet.

I think we're missing a big chunk of info for this to make sense.
