Also in that story:
They say Allen was last seen at a home on highway 2016 in Lee County on August 10. Allan's sister tells WKYT that state police have been to that home before.
In 2014 Patricia Lutes was shot and killed next to the homes mailbox. No one was arrested in that case and it is considered an open and ongoing investigation.

Someone shot and killed 36-year-old Patricia Lutes as she went to check her mail on November 10, 2014, five days before her birthday.

(Lutes' WS thread)

If these killings both happened at the same house in rural Lee County, could they be connected? Or is this just an unbelievable coincidence???

Wow! She has some lutes on her friends list no patricia tho.

I wonder if she'd just recently moved there. Some stories said that she went missing from "a house" in Lee County and some said "her house" in Lee County.

A story on another Lexington station referred to her as being from Breathitt County, which is an adjoining county to the east.

Kentucky State Police confirm that human remains found in Lee County belong to a missing Breathitt County woman.

And since they keep referring to this as a "death investigation," could it be something like an OD?
Dope is bad all over Kentucky these days, especially in the Mountains. Meth is bad everywhere, but the people that were hooked on pain pills have moved on to heroin. That stuff is now being cut with much stronger things like Fentanyl and God knows what else.

Ok looks like she was in a relationship with the late patricia's widow? Hmmmm

This might not make any difference in the big picture, but I wonder where in Lee County her remains were found. I've just seen "in Lee County" or "in rural Lee County." The whole county is what I'd call "rural" and the county seat (Beattyville) has all of around 1000 residents.

Lee County (marked in red) is pretty small in terms of area. Breathitt County is the one to the east/SE of it on the map (just to the right/lower-right).

according to her FB, she's had custody issues ... at one point her son was not living with her and more recently her daughter is not living with her

I generally try to steer clear of FB. Is that where you found that at? Both of the dead ladies dated the same guy?

But that would make sense, since two women were basically found murdered in the same spot.

I can't imagine a guy offing two significant others in the same place unless he killed them both at the same time. These killings were a few years apart. That would be kinda stupid. Not that killing your girlfriend would ever be a particularly "smart" thing to do. But the same exact place in a tiny rural area a few years apart?

This is so sad! She was only twenty-nine and had 2 adorable children. I wonder how close her body was found to where she was living. I'll be curious to see cause of death, if we ever do. This man's first partner was shot and there is no mention of foul play with Mary, yet...I also noticed in the news article confirming her death, the reporter mentions that the comments section was removed because "authorities" had instructed them to do so...I wonder why.

Due to speculation I'd imagine?

Usually in the UK if someone has been charged with a crime but not convicted the article will be closed to comments so as not to create ubfair bias or taint a jury pool. Not sure how it works in the US.

LE must have their reasons in this case anyhow. They may already suspect foul play and don't want to tip anyone off to that fact?
