Of course, Woolheater was the very last one I found, but I think he’s a strong possibility! Especially with his prior injuries! Physical description fits perfectly also...

I found an older reddit thread where Woolheater was thought to possibly be this UID but I guess he wasn't actually submitted as a possibility :( So, you definitely should send in.

Oh thank you! Reddit is unchartered territory for me and I didn’t see a link when I googled Woolheater, so that’s good that he’s being discussed elsewhere. (I see now where Janeway mentioned him upthread here also!) Per Doe Network, William has DNA available but this UID does not...dental comparison is the only possible means of comparison (if the info is accurate)

The problem I’m having is that I’ve not found a good contact in Kentucky!! Half the emails are coming back “undeliverable” and there are multiple phone numbers listed for some contacts. I prefer email and it’s most convenient (for me) since the time I’m usually able to submit is outside of normal business hours.

I finally finished the spreadsheet for KY UID cases, well not finished but I got most of the basic info entered! Based on that info and a lot of what I’ve seen on these threads, I think Amy Burrows-Beckham may be receiving an email from me in the next few days! (Bless her heart :D)

If anyone has been in contact with Amy and knows whether or not she’s still overseeing these cold cases, let me know! :) TIA!

Does "[email protected]" still work as an email contact?

Ksponline.org/cold_case.html

The Hazard Ky State Police Post is the closest to Letcher Co. The main # for KSP Cold Cases is 800-222-5555.

Let me know if these don't work, I will try to find additional contacts.

@fred&edna I think the first one you listed is one of the ones that did go through, I just never got a response. But if that is a universal contact for the majority of cases from KY, I’ll make note of that and use it! I usually try to find an ME to submit to (in my experience, they seem to be the most receptive and responsive), but a dedicated “cold case” unit is just as good!

I’ll find out tomorrow hopefully and keep the threads updated!

Eta: thank you @carbuff !

It's been a long time since I was in Letcher Co and I wasn't planning a visit, but if continued no response I just might have to schedule a road trip :)

I just wanted to thank you for looking into all these old cases in Kentucky! This is my home state, it is very much appreciated!! Thank you for all that you do here...

Welp! [email protected] is not a good address :mad::( or [email protected], but I’ve contacted the kyunsolved one that fred&edna mentioned... we shall see! I’m in and out and can’t call right now, but will make time later if all else fails!

and you’re most welcome @Kudzu ! Several of us are to thank, I hope we can do some good for your home state! :)

XXXXX
Thank you so much for your interest and hard work on these cases! I appreciate you sharing your labor of love! I will be sure to check out your possible matches. I’m glad you chose KY! You can always contact me with possible matches or questions about the cases. I’d love the help!

I’ll let you know how these pan out!
The labor of love she’s referring to is a spreadsheet I’ve been working on for Kentucky. Some of you may have noticed it in my signature. If you can find my signature (because I could not until yesterday! :p) There are links to that and a document containing newspaper articles, they’re both for KY UID only. It’s something I made to keep track of just these cases but shared it so that anybody else could use it to! :)
I’m beyond thrilled!

eta: I made sure to tell Amy (and the other KY contact) that this was a collaborative effort by several of us!

Woohoo!

We should definitely keep working these cases. Real progress can happen when there's an LE/ME type person on the team :D

Great work!!

Did you submit Woolheater or any of the other names mentioned?

Unfortunately I’ve not submitted any  :( The moment I try to get at least an email sent out, something else comes up and I don’t get the chance to make contact. Not for lack of want to or trying.

That's how things go sometimes...I'd add it to my to-do list here, but I've got several pages of threads to update exclusion lists for.
