Ryan Poston was going to break up with Shayna Hubers, three of his friends testified Thursday.

Prosecutors have said it was that jilting that motivated Hubers to shoot and kill Poston on Oct. 12, 2012. They said she went to Poston's Highland Heights condominium that night to either keep him as a boyfriend or put him in a body bag.

Just days before his death, Poston confided in two friends that things were going so well in his new law practice that he had to move on.

"He had said he was trying to end the relationship, that he didn't want to date her anymore, but just couldn't seem to get away from it," said Ryan Church, a friend of Poston.

As Bolte approached the witness stand, Hubers appeared not to look at her. Instead, Hubers seemed focused on papers on the table in front of her. During another portion of Bolte’s testimony, Hubers stared straight forward without expression. During at least one moment, Hubers was markedly shuddering while Bolte was on the stand. It is unclear whether Hubers was bothered by Bolte’s presence or whether the room’s temperature was causing her to shudder. (Reporter’s note: the courtroom has been extremely cold; many in attendance are wearing jackets or sweaters.)

Bolte testified that she never met Poston in person. Her communication with Poston started January 27, 2012, via Facebook. They became “friends” on Facebook but did not directly message one another. Then, Bolte posted something. Poston commented.

Bolte explained that she became bored one evening and asked her Facebook friends for help reviewing movies. Poston “replied to one of them and left a funny, interesting comment.” That led to direct messaging. Bolte described it as “lighthearted” and “funny banter.” She said Poston was “funny and smart” based on her messages with him. He “piqued her interest.” The direct messaging led to texting.

In the days leading up to the date of the shooting, Poston and Bolte made plans to meet. The plans were to “meet up at a local low-key place, grab a drink, maybe shoot pool,” she testified. The goal was “something low-key and simple.” Poston alluded to perhaps meeting up at an event something in the future, but the plan they agreed upon was to meet up at a bar. “We had friends in the same friend circles,” Bolte noted.

Jay Poston took the stand Friday in the fourth day of Hubers' retrial. He said his son came to his house late one night in September 2012 very upset. Ryan said he was trying to move on with his life, but Hubers wouldn't let him do it.

Prosecutors in the case claim Hubers shot and killed Poston on Oct. 12, 2012 because he was planning to break up with her. Three of Poston's friends acknowledged that in testimony Thursday.



Authorities said Hubers went to Poston's Highland Heights condominium that night to either keep him as a boyfriend or put him in a body bag.

Hubers has a different story. She told police she shot Poston in self-defense and that he was abusive.

"I asked him what's going on, and he said, 'Dad, she won't leave me alone. She won't leave my home.' I said to him, 'Ryan, that's your home.' I said, 'She needs to leave your home,'" Jay Poston said.

Betcha Shayna was very jealous of Miss Ohio (she's beauty, IMO) if Ryan told Shayna he was going to meet her. Did he tell her?
 
"I had talked to him before then and said, 'dad, like I gotta... she just does not want to go away,'" he said.

Carter said his stepson was trying to end the relationship with Hubers and was excited to move on.

"He was happy because he said, 'well... and I have a date tomorrow night with somebody who I'm excited to meet.' He said, 'well you know, she's beautiful she's tall, she's blonde, and she's Miss Ohio,'" he said.

The woman who put six bullets into her boyfriend watched the victim’s father describe her as a relentless and obsessive, jilted girlfriend, on the fourth day of testimony in her murder trial.

“Ryan was my world, my absolute world,” Jay Poston said about his son, Ryan Poston....

Prosecutors are still calling witnesses. The trial is expected to last until the end of August."

Men went after a woman for her purse, containing $75K. She fought back.

She sure wears lots of makeup....
