Isn't this amazing? Just zipping right on through. No live stream, tweets or stardom and fame. As much as I miss informative, continuous tweets I'm glad this egotistical murderess isn't getting as much attention. Ryan and his loved ones will still get justice but her name and face will be forgotten in no time at all.

I second that!

They don't mess around here in Cane-Tuckee :giggle: And just for the record, we do wear shoes and have regular teeth

I guess this murderer didn't have time to get all dolled up and throw herself on National TV ... for example, oh just off the of my head  Inside Edition or 48 Hours Mystery! She did however borrow the "self defense" bull$hit and the Einstein IQ from another killer though. She is also much more attractive than inmate 281129. I guess SJ didn't have enough time to make a new website for Shayna being "innocent." He takes a fancy to the attractive killers...Casey and 281129 :dervish:

I often wonder if JA had of slaughtered HIS BROTHER would he still be promoting her innocence?

I just can't see this jury opting for acquittal. I am unsure about the jury's take on the DT expert's testimony concerning Hubers' mental state. If they believe either Hubers or the victim was unstable they may not all accept murder. One of the manslaughter charges?

I don't know about this jury, I don't like the prosecution and that defense attorney told that jury if she was acting in self defense then she had no RESPONSIBILITY to stop shooting him until he was dead. I have never heard that one before. Jodi would have loved this state. Stab him a gillion times until you are sure he is dead then shoot him in the head. She could have walked in KY.

Wow! That was like... 10 days!!! Very quick. Waiting for a verdict in The Jerice Hunter trial as well. That Trial moved pretty fast too. I guess that must be the norm!
After The Arias Trial I expected these things to take Forever!!! How Nice to have the wheels of Justice move So Quickly!!!

I always thought that Self Defense was Equal to *Reasonable Force* Just enough force to stop someone from hurting you. I mean... if someone punches you in the mouth its not logical to shoot them in the head! Not that that's what happened in this case. You can't murder someone because they kick you!!
If Ryan was on the ground and shot already... why continue to shoot him? That's not self defense... that's murder.

I think any trial where the DP is on the table will last longer but the Arias trial was one for the records IMO.

The psychiatrist the prosecution called to the stand, and the psychiatrist the defense called to the stand both agreed Hubers has post-traumatic stress disorder, but the prosecution's witness said she had it before the shooting and it was not a result of the shooting.

Both psychiatrists also agreed Hubers is bipolar and had a problem with alcohol and prescription drugs, but the prosecution's witness said Hubers did not appear to be affected by the problem in the police interview just after the shooting.

............

Commonwealth attorney Michelle Snodgrass went to testimony of their forensic experts, who said Poston was shot while he was sitting at the table.

“There is no other justification for six bullets, there is no justification for her comment after comment after comment about, ‘I knew he was just about dead and he was twitching so I thought I’d put him out of his misery,’” Snodgrass said repeating similar statements made by Hubers,”That is cold-blooded murder.”

According to the video commentator at this link, the DT, in closing, stated Kentucky's 'stand your ground law' to claim that SH was not required to stop after the first shot. According to the DT, she was justified to keep shooting in self-defense as long as he was alive. SMH
OMG!!! That means she was allowed to finish him off, even though he was seated at a table. So much for the "nose job" comment!

Oh my goodness I sure hope they don't do that. By the evidence entered this case in no way is it a manslaughter case. That would be a slap in the face to not only the victim, and his family, but for every victim that has died and will die from a domestic violence homicide.

I hope the jury does their job correctly based on the evidence entered and will come back with M1. As far as I could tell there is no evidence he was attacking her. Do I have that wrong and she suffered wounds from him or did she come out of this unscathed? I think he was sitting at the table when she shot him in the head and kept shooting because she wanted him dead where he wouldn't be able to date another woman ever again..

But, like I have said countless times before, when the defendant is a woman I am very nervous and worried whether true justice will be handed down for the victim.

Even though our courts are making progress when it comes to gender bias we still have a very long way to go for all females to be treated equally.

I just pray this is one of those times where the jury will put aside the gender of the offender and look at the heinousness of the crime, and the motive, which is so obvious.

I don't believe her babble anymore than I believed Arias'. In fact the similarities are alarming. Its hard to believe there could be two psychopaths who could be evil twins but it sure feels like it.

IMO

"You may hear something in this case about Shayna Hubers firing multiple shots. If you believe that she acted in self-defense when that first shot was fired, she is not required to quit shooting. He was alive for all six shots. Whether the number of minutes or seconds after that lasted greater or longer, that is not her responsibility once she acted in self-protection," Mejia said.

Prosecutors, though, argued that six shots add up to murder and pointed to text messages where Hubers said she would shoot him at a gun range and make it look like an accident.

Friday verdict. Arizona could learn some lessons of time management from this case. No nonsense. I like it.

NEWPORT – The trial took nine days, but it took a Campbell County jury just under five hours to find Shayna Hubers guilty of murder.
