There have been dive teams coming in, from all over the country, to look for a fella who went missing in Laurel Lake (London, Ky) back in 2012. The lake is filled with trees. Last I heard, they think that they've located his body, using technology, stuck, in a tree, 120' from the surface, yet they have still not been able to retrieve him. The lake is very dark so divers have a hard time searching. It's entirely possible that something similar could happen, with this case, if water is involved, only no one knows for sure, which water source to focus on to dedicate a search. I'm 99.98% sure this is a recovery mission. There's one other thought, if she were walking, and it was dusky morning, someone could have hit her, and she drug herself off the road and passed away. The driver could've looked in the rear-view, didn't see anything, and shrugged it off. It happened to a friend of ours, only they lived. The driver, left the scene, not really knowing that he'd hit anyone but noted a "thump". They'd been knocked into the ditchline, out of sight. The driver got to thinking about that thump, and came back to the scene.
