There are two that are near High Bridge and I can't remember which one is state owned and which one is privately owned (but the public can still use it). One site is almost right under the bridge, if I am remembering correctly. It's off Lock 7 and HWY 29. There's a little sandy "beach" area there. Good for fishing. You can also get access to the Dix River (which goes on into Herrington Lake). Shakertown uses one of them for their boat tours. Camp Nelson is around 15 miles or so. It's really pretty paddling under the palisades.
Messing around with the map. The Other Bar>High Bridge Boat Ramp, Kentucky River> Home that was searched. If that was the travel route it's a 1 hour 24 min trip
Google Maps
If the travel route (all of this is speculation) was from The Other Bar>House that was searched> to High bridge boat ramp it is a one hour 45 min trip
Home searched> High Bridge Boat ramp is 44 min trip

I think that if her body was put into the river then there's a good chance it got caught on something or washed up on the river bank when the rain hit. In many places along that river, the mud on the banks is so thick that it can go up to your knees. Tons of trees and branches. Garbage that flows along in the water and then gets washed up on the edges. A body could easily get caught on some of those things. When it rains, too, the river gets super fast and carries all kinds of things along.
If the body was put in at the High Bridge boat ramp is there anything to stop it from going over lock 7? Would the water that gathers at the bottom of the keep a body trapped in the circulatory motion?

If the 3 guys didn'

That's why its important to provide links.
Exactly. And thats a big reason it's against TOS not to. It's also very frustrating for others

"
So they have her phone now.
"
I don't read that article as saying they have the items pictured. They are asking if anybody has information about them. They aren't saying anything one way or the other about possession, though my interpretation was they are looking for them.

-Sorry my quote didn't work.

Do they have her phone and purse or are they looking for them? They asked for people with information about them.

I don't think LE has them. These are just pictures of what they look like. Maybe pics taken that night at the bar? I'm wondering if the snap on the purse is broken.

You're right, her body could literally be anywhere. She may not have even been thrown in the water.

That's what so frustrating about searching for bodies. Many times the police dont even know where to look. It truly is like looking for a teeny tiny needle in an unknown haystack.

I have so much respect and admiration for searchers.

As for her floating to the top if the temps are cold at the time the body went in they will stay submerged, and will not rise to the surface until it warms up.

Cold temps and cold water slows the decomp waydown including slowing the decomp gases which causes bodies to rise to the surface.

That is why many victims who went into the water during the winter will rise in the spring.

That is also why they are described by LE as 'spring floaters.'

If they do find her in water soon imo she will be submerged floating very close to the river or creek bottom etc.

When they do that they can easily get hung up under fallen trees or other debris making them even harder to find.

Imo

There have been dive teams coming in, from all over the country, to look for a fella who went missing in Laurel Lake (London, Ky) back in 2012. The lake is filled with trees. Last I heard, they think that they've located his body, using technology, stuck, in a tree, 120' from the surface, yet they have still not been able to retrieve him. The lake is very dark so divers have a hard time searching. It's entirely possible that something similar could happen, with this case, if water is involved, only no one knows for sure, which water source to focus on to dedicate a search. I'm 99.98% sure this is a recovery mission. There's one other thought, if she were walking, and it was dusky morning, someone could have hit her, and she drug herself off the road and passed away. The driver could've looked in the rear-view, didn't see anything, and shrugged it off. It happened to a friend of ours, only they lived. The driver, left the scene, not really knowing that he'd hit anyone but noted a "thump". They'd been knocked into the ditchline, out of sight. The driver got to thinking about that thump, and came back to the scene.

Honestly, I'm not sure. I haven't been over to Wilmore or High Bridge in probably 8 years. There's a lock fairly close to me and things get "trapped" in there all the time. In fact, colorful balls get trapped in it. It's kind of bizarre the way they circle around and around. And they stay for a while. It's like a horror movie.

This is a photo of Lock 12 in Estill County. It's my own personal photo so I'm not sure about TOS. If Lock 7 is similar then something could absolutely get trapped there.

I have pictures of the ramp and the area under High Bridge. I'll look at them and see if I can see anything.

Okay, this is the area under High Bridge. You can see the little sandy area I was talking about. This is also Lock 7. You can't see the boat ramp in this picture. It's right above the lock. I don't know if this will help visualizing or not.

Again, my own personal picture.

Yes, because after a while people can't remember what was truth and what was speculation-especially new people entering the thread.
OT but maybe not because it's making this case harder to work with. But I Agree. Not to mention there is usually so much info to keep track of it is hard for those that have started from the beginning. I have read and reread so many articles regarding this case and someone brings up something I missed from one with no link and it's hunting time. I have great appreciation that others have brought out info I missed in this case but with no link it's like hearsay in a courtroom.

I absolutely think that is a plausible alternative to there being something nefarious about her disappearance. Those roads are dark and curvy after dark. Even if she'd made it out to 52 and started heading towards Richmond (that'd be a heck of a long walk), it's still dangerous and there's not much of a shoulder. This could have all just been a very sad accident.

It is always possible LE could have viewed the vehicle that night on a traffic cam.
If Police saw the vehicle on a traffic cam, I think they would have identified the owner sooner,

It’s definitely plausible. I think the dogs would’ve hit on her scent though, had she walked off in a certain direction. I’ve followed another case closely and they brought dogs out and they followed the girl’s scent from her house, her family farm and it just stopped where her car was found along a highway.

The pic reminded me of Niagara Falls. Much smaller scale but that's what happens. It isn't until spring they find suicide victims.

Yeah, that's kind of the kicker in that scenario.

I don't know what traffic is like where the house was located, but if she made it to the road after sunrise, I don't think it would be long before she was picked up.

I think that was her friend & she was probably looking at the same pictures we were.

Her friend has stated in other interviews that they know the names so it’s not a stretch that they know the ages.

Very nice pic! You would love Lake Erie LOL. Heres a view from google earth. I don't know when the locks open & close but looks very possible for a body to remain trapped.
