I think the hotel and boaters, etc helping in the search is wonderful. How coincidental and tragic the woman at the hotel had a similar experience. That said, I can't imagine SS's friends or family having to deal with organizing a fundraiser with the mental anguish they are suffering. Someone (local?) mentioned that churches, etc stepped in to help support with past searches. Thats how it's done in my area as well. If that's the case why is this different? Another thought, if SS was murdered, it would be in the best interest to find whoever did it. That would terrify me if I lived in the are. JMHO

Not family, but friends could. It doesn't take much to put the Cajun Teams PayPal on your FB and ask that it be shared. Maybe they have, and many people donate to causes, and don't make their charitable contributions public. Maybe her friends have already donated to the reward fund? I don't know how much more anyone could do, unless she had a home church.

I'm not seeing or hearing about flyers with her pic and a phone # around town. Usually a bunch of local businesses post them. I haven't spoken to anyone who has seen them and I haven't seen them either. There are still people in Richmond and Berea who don't know she's missing.

A reward offered?

FYI to self and others about TOS and some subjects we need to avoid.

I am not understanding why this is being treated differently.

Look at the search grid. It was in a rural area. Only a couple three people from Garrard County would even know her, based on her FB, and they could have just been FB friends. The bar she left from, is 30 miles from her home. The home it's said she walked away from, is at least 30 miles from the bar, and 30 miles from her home. People in the area have looked around their properties and have zero problem with them searching, but voluntary, organized, searches are not being done per LE. The Bar is probably distancing themselves, (see fiery crash I-75), GC property owners have checked their properties, fearing they'd find her, from my understanding. Madison is her home. The Cajun Team is staying at least 30 miles from SS's home. It's a bit of a snafu.

She didn't go missing from Madison, and by the time the rest of the world figured out what she went missing at all, (this thread started on the 8th, I believe), and potentially, who with, and from where, she'd been missing for five days. Recovery mission or she ran off was everyone's first thoughts. I'm thinking the former at this point. I feel no spark of hope when I talk to folks.

That's true. I thought it seemed desolate but was thrown off by a post yesterday or day before that seemed to say the opposite.

Just a possibility, The man in the truck may have given LE info he knew that lead to the warrant to search (someones reasonable statement would be all thats needed to get the warrant . My reason for saying this is that people tend to talk when caught by surprise. If he had any knowledge, thoughts, or was involved he probably thought he was being arrested and was terrified. One of the 1st things he said was he was on his way to talk to LE. Generally thats a way of showing submission and cooperation or appear to be on "their" side (even if it is untrue). Catching someone off guard throws them off from the planned scenario they may have rehearsed over and over in their heads if questioned in a more controlled setting. It's a tactic LE will purposefully use (though this may have been luck) to get information. I used that technique if I knew someone I was investigating for the court or was under my supervision was lying. It isn't hard to throw someone off guard and I would imagine the man in the truck got the double whammy, fear of being arrested and the shock of being stopped. Just my 2 cents.
When he was stopped, was the male individual in the truck really on his way to LE to make a statement?

I realize that she didn't go missing from Madison, but this IS her home. People who live in Paint Lick and Lancaster DO commute here for work and school. We had posters of Alex Johnson up all over town and he had no connection to Richmond at all.

There’s no way of knowing this.

It's not what I'd call desolate but it may be what SS would call desolate. If that makes sense. Unless she knew which road to take, the one to the front, dead ends, to a private residence, the road to the back of the house is taking her further away, and to the right, will get you to Richmond Road, but it's a good hour walk. If she headed toward Lancaster, her best bet, it's well over an hour walk, but it is more populated. A lot of the property in front of the FLR House, is fenced with hard to scale fencing too, and perkins has sharp embankments, with fencing along most of one side. Walking down FLR was her best bet, and there's just been no sign. I've not heard of a scrap of material or a lost scrap of anything being found.

With Daniella Vian (who is still missing :() the restaurants where she had worked let friends/family have car washes and other ways to raise money and awareness.

Heck, I would reach out to her former high school - it hadn’t been that long since she graduated, I would be asking everyone from work, school, nail/hair salon to tattoo place.

True, I don't think I saw any here, but it is odd I guess, but who would get that going? A general resident of Madison County? Her photo, has been all over t.v., and the nat'l news. I just feel that folks think it's too late.

Friends and family. Those are the folks I usually see getting these things organized and if they have a home church, they'll usually support in some way. I think that SS was no longer employed anywhere when she went missing, that makes a difference too. I know the old place I worked for no longer even has the same President, or Veep, they'd not know who on earth I was now, and companies don't want to get involved in these things. I follow the Rhoden/HHG thread. The company that 90% of the family worked for wouldn't even let the surviving family hold a fundraiser. In my fam, I sincerely doubt they'd be holding fundraisers. It's a "thing" with some families in this region. They'll go broke first. Ask for folks to be watchful? Yes. Ask for funds? No.

I can't remember how long it takes to get those phone records but I would love to know if she did make a phone call to somebody else to pick her up that morning.

If per chance she made a FT call, or one of those IM calls, that sucks your battery too, and getting into her FB account can be a pita. She's not declared deceased, no one knows her pw, she didn't have a work around for anyone to get in, in case she got locked out, apparently, or that FB would get shuttered, imo. Getting a FT call from a missing phone, that probably uploaded the small piece of data from it they need, is also going to be a pita. From what I gather that info is stored differently. I don't use either, so am not real sure, but did a tad of reading, and it seems to be a different, harder, way of getting any info from those type calls.

Her best friend started a GoFundMe to raise money for a reward. It has not accumulated enough to post a reward. Maybe she could donate it to Cajun Team.

No idea. But like I said, truth or not he would still be caught off guard.

I'm still shaking my head that he would travel that far to drink with a headlight out.

But what if she was murdered? I would think people would be concerned about safety. No one can possibly be sure of what happened unless they are withholding information from LE or the killers themselves. And it would be foolish to feel safe based on ones thoughts or opinions. Theres also the basic principle of justice being served.
ETA: The more posters etc the more awareness
