They have denied finding any clothing or speaking to Radar. Frankly, I’m glad to know they are not speaking to that rag.

I was pretty sure the article was fake. Toney and the Cajun search team have been very respectful to LE. They would never share information like that. It would come directly from LE!

I don’t know if they’ve participated in searches. There was only one search in the very beginning coordinated by friends and family that consisted of individuals volunteering their time. The other searches mentioned in the media have been by LE and SAR teams that haven’t asked for volunteers. Texas Equusearc posted about accepting help from the public today but that’s the only SAR team I’ve seen that’s allowed civilian volunteers.

I think this is a great question, that if you think about for a minute can be very telling for those 3 men. Obviously they dont have P.R. help because they arent talking to the media, and once they gave the address of one of the men it opened up a lot more info, so these guys arent walking around town or going to work without being noticed IMO.

I’ve been thinking of these 3 men too. They were reported as co-workers early on, not necessarily close friends. I wonder if they’re still co-workers and what, if any, response their employer has had. I wonder if they’re closer/friendlier now than they were initially. Or, have 2 of them distanced themselves from the one who stated SS left the home. No doubt they’re all 3 being observed / monitored as part of the investigation. There’s radio silence and usually you hear rumblings of something. LE is keeping a tight lid on this and I sure hope that means good news soon, as in SS is located.

What if one (or all) of the men reportedly with SS were on probation or had past issues with LE, therefore felt the need to stay silent?

Which is the other gossip and entertainment site.
I don't think there is anything new, other than they have not found anything and are still searching.
If there were burnt clothing found, they had nothing to do with the case anyway, from the way it sounds. Imo

Not surprised. Any active investigation I ever worked on in my career that got international attention D.M. always overdid the "facts" to make it more lurid.

There have been some groups doing that. There can be problems with it, though.

Hypothetical situation...

For instance, an untrained group is out searching. They find something, like say an article of clothing, that looks like something Savannah wore that night. Because they're not trained in the handling of evidence, they walk all over the scene, potentially destroying any footprints or tire treads that may be there. Then they pick the article of clothing up with their bare hands, getting transfer DNA on it and potentially shaking off any hairs or other smaller traces of evidence that may exist. Lastly, they remove the article from the scene without taking a picture of it the way that it was found so LE has no idea how it looked when it was discovered. Then, after all that happens, they go on social media with photos of them holding it, talking about how they found "evidence". The family see it and it generates a lot of upset. In the end, it winds up not being anything at all. Then again, it might really be something, but in court it's thrown out because of the way it was handled.

This is why volunteer search groups need to be trained and organized and why groups of people can't just go out on their own. Things like this happen a lot. It's why we ask that, if a group wants to search, they meet with an official SAR official and have someone speak to the group before they set out.

Now, with all that said, we do need more searches. We do need more organized group efforts. There are ways to do that, however, that are mindful of evidence.

When we searched for Tricia Todd we were given very strict instructions on what to do if we found anything. Don’t touch it, call for an officer, and carefully back out of the area. This was all gone over before each search. We also had to put this app on our phone that showed where we walked. At the end we sent it to the person running the searches so they could keep track.

I think they have all been questioned.
Maybe they are investigating them and we just don't know it.
I hope they find something out soon. It would be terrible if two years from now we are still trying to figure out what happened to her. Imo

The only mention in msm that the men were co-workers came in an interview with a girlfriend of SS. She said "I think they were co-workers". It is up to posters to decide how to accept that statement. I have not accepted it as fact. It could be or not.

It is all about generating ad revenue and hits any way they can. I hope some of these sites get sued and shut down for propagating fake news.

I don't trust any news organization to give unbiased news. That's why its important to use more than one source if possible. That being said, DM sure knows how to get photos.

The description of the 3 men was speculation by SS best friend, and never confirmed by LE.

I agree. This is bff's direct quote to Fox news:

Speratos told Fox News that two of the three men appear to be in their early 20’s. She thinks the three are not close-knit friends, rather co-workers who decided to go out and pick up girls in Lexington on the night they met Spurlock.

Spurlock’s best friend says she would have ‘jumped out of car’ before going to rural county with strangers

I am male & therefore don't have an original equipment "hinky meter". But if I did, these three men would not be setting it off.

That article and her best friend contradicts herself. SS did call her mother and if you want to continue to party at 2:30 in the morning, what options do you really have? You’re not going home especially with your kids and mother there. She makes it seem like they drove 4 hours away.

I don’t know. I don’t see what the motivation would be to intentionally harm a women you just met in a bar who faced timed her mother with you inside the car right by her. Not only that, they went to a guys house who still lives with his parents. If they did intentionally harm her, it wouldn’t have been at the house.

I wonder if any of the 3 guys or their families have participated or have been active in any of the searches in any way ?
I was going to ask that because in my mind it matters , but I don't think there have been public searches, olny SAR right?

The public search this Saturday is the first official one. However, small groups have formed on their own and have gone out. These searches weren't sanctioned by anyone, including the family.
