I don't see the evidence.. They don't even know how the murder was done. They have no weapon at all. No dna linking Josh Y. Nothing.. And right now am watching the video of the interrogation and don't see anything but a teen kid. Nothing like an adult in this video. In fact I am wondering why a minor is being questioned without counsel or parent or guardian.

The Det. is trying to trick him. I get that police can do it, but this is a kid. Whose father is a monster and a manipulator..

Is this interview after the dad said that it was Josh Y so that he could get off? So that is why they are pushing so hard at him??

I think they were trying to get to the truth since he had made inconsistent statements.

A weapon does not need to be found. If that was the case a lot of defendants who toss weapons wouldn't be found guilty. They know that Trey was bludgeoned to death with a blunt object. JY's second cousin said he brought a baseball bat to her that was bloody to get rid of........

IMO

I honestly, without bias cannot see what you guys are talking about. At all. He looks like a regular kid to me.

To me his demeanor says, he is telling the truth. He is not rude or crazy, He is not acting evasive. Just stating his side of the story.

I do not see anything but a 15 yr old kid. Nothing.

ETA: Just finished the whole thing.. I don't see what others are seeing. I am not one for looking at anything but evidence.

They may not have a case against him, no. I don't know yet.

But WOW on this interview. Now I'm only at 16 minutes, but it's clear that he's not intimidated at all by LE/the law, and he is adamant that his father is the greatest thing in the world.

He likes it :( Very much. I can't support a kid like this in the least. The amount of evidence will matter for whether he should be convicted or not, but morally I think the kid is just not OK at all. Unfortunately, he also seems very 'together' and smart, so I don't know that he could be changed. I was hoping I'd get a vibe that said he was also immature and intimidated or something. I don't get even a hint of that with JY.

I don't know yet if I feel JY is innocent or guilty of being involved in this hideous crime. When the state presents its case then I will have more of a concrete opinion one way or the other.

They dress him like he is some kind of nerd. Now I do not believe that part is true even if he turns out to be innocent of these charges. In fact I don't know one 17 year old teen that would feel comfortable wearing an old man's sweater vest.

I was reading a little about her and her story. I am not sure if I believe her. It sounds a little far fetched and like a story would make up to feign knowledge of something. The kid kills someone then runs next door for help in getting rid of evidence...and she does it? I just don't buy it. And JG has a history of witness tampering/intimidation.

The dad is also now saying he acted alone.

He wears what they bring him to look presentable in court.

I just cant see one's own flesh and blood making things like this up.

I can see a family member helping him. We have read about such cases before where family members did help get rid of evidence.

They bring what makes him look geeky and nerdy as if he is a weakling that couldn't do something like this. It is a game all defense attorneys play.

He would be just as presentable in a dress shirt without the old man sweater vest, imo.

I just don't buy the story. I also read she has a history of lying for JG.

I don't believe this either considering the police never found proof of anything there.

I don't think so. I think he looks like a teen boy dressed for court. Should they put him in cut offs and muscle shirts? He is in court and dressed as he should be. OMO

I don't really care about stuff like that, just like I don't really care when people get all bent out of shape about Jodi and Casey getting droll for their trials. Who cares?

I don't see anything out of the ordinary with the kid's clothes myself. I know plenty of teenagers who dress that way for occasions.

Isn't there more to these interviews than just this one that has been put out now? This wasn't the initial interview. This was a re-interview.

I suppose the jury will see them all. One of them will be the entire interview that the policeman mentions in this one where he plays a snippet of it for him to listen to.......I am sure that one too will be played in its entirety.

Don't get me wrong; I would not convict him unless there were enough evidence.

But I definitely see a disturbingly composed, clever kid who knows his way around an interrogation better than most convicted murderers, imho. He is amazing. He never did explain the huge inconsistency in his re-tellings about where he was that night.

Really, y'all know 15-year-olds with nerves of steel like that? In such an emotional and frightening situation? He challenges the detective often while being questioned about changing his alibi, basically. He pulls out the harassment card at the end, even.

I wish I could see his face closer up to better see if the arrogance he shows could be a defense mechanism or anything. It could be, theoretically. But wow on the cool-as-a-cucumber part, imho. I don't have much hope about him :(

Now I may have to try to find the (rumored?) video where he laughs as he films his dad beating the dog so badly. Ugh. I believe I'm sucked into this case, yeah!

I care because it is done to deceive.

I hadn't kept up with this one until yesterday, and I missed a bunch of testimony, too. I'm trying to find all that stuff now.

They'd better play them all :) The hard evidence will still matter most, of course, but an intimidated kid will tend to act certain kinds of ways, and that does help folks try to figure out what on earth went on.

To have him dress for court? I don't think that is deception but respect for the court. How would you have him dress?

This never matters to me. I don't see how this has to do with the case at all. What matters is the evidence they have and do they have anything against this kid.

  • #278
I figure all defense attorneys do that whether the person is innocent or not, so I don't factor in the dress in court either. I never believe the person is what their dress looks like anyway. I was best friends with a psychopath for years, lol. Appearances mean zero to me now that way!

I wish HLN would make a distinction between Joshua (the father) and Josh (the son) it gets really confusing sometimes.

Oh I am not even close to thinking he is guilty or not guilty. I have to hear/see all the evidence before I will form an opinion of not guilty or guilt and that includes watching the defense CIC. At the end of the trial I may even think the state has not proven its case BARD.

He definitely comes across as thinking he is smarter than LE and thinks he can maneuver around their questions. He was extremely calm for a 15 year old being questioned about such a serious matter. He is as cool as a cucumber.
