In an interview with LEX 18, Chief of Patrol Darren Francke of the Montgomery County Police Department in Maryland confirmed that 13-year-old Wynter Wagoner was kidnapped.

According to police, the suspect has been identified as 37-year-old Christian Delgado.

The Montgomery County Police Department (MCPD) said Wynter Wagoner, of Rockcastle County, Ky., was found on Dec. 26, inside a home in the 12000 block of Dalewood Drive in Silver Spring.

It’s quite common when the victim is a minor. Especially in cases that involve kidnapping of children by strangers. You are essentially publicly identifying a child that is likely a victim of SA, which can be a stigma difficult to overcome.

Christian Delgado, 27, spoke during a hearing Monday in Montgomery County District Court, telling the judge, “The whole thing is a misunderstanding” and that he’s a “model citizen.”

Montgomery County police said a tip, from someone who had a strange feeling seeing the girl with Delgado, led to her being found in a Silver Spring home over the weekend.

Delgado asked judge John Moffett to release him so he could go to Kentucky to turn himself in to face the charges, saying that would allow him to prepare his defense, talk to his lawyer and not be a burden on taxpayers.

The judge denied the request and Delgado waived his right to an extradition hearing. He is being held at the Montgomery County Central Processing Unit, where he’s awaiting extradition to Kentucky.

Several members of Delgado’s family left the courthouse without comment. But in the courtroom, the family member who tipped off Montgomery County Police to Delgado’s Wheaton home on Friday was there. The judge and the defense attorney then quickly told her to stop speaking about any facts in the case.

Model citizen? Pervet was playing house with a 13 year old. I'm glad the family member said something. Wynter is young and may not understand how wrong his actions were. Rather she went willingly or not. When she is older she will come to the realization of how much of a bad person he really was. I'm glad she was found safe. And I pray the book is thrown at him.
