Yes, they did and I thought I read that they had removed a few pieces of the skirt and taken it with them. Maybe it looked suspicious. Don't you think they must have found something as the sheriff said it was a major crime scene? Why would he state that? I just hope she is found so the family can have closure, and if the worst has happened, she deserves a dignified resting place.

I do think so. They would have been looking for the clothes and shoes he was wearing for certain. Maybe his bedding and towels and washcloths he would have used for showering. Items from the days Mickey went missing and the truck was burned. There could be accelerant on his clothing. His toothbrush and hairbrush for his DNA. They would look for items to show his mindset. Programs he watched and Internet searches. So many other thing I am sure.

They did certainly take some of that siding but didn't a neighbor state there was new siding? Maybe he said he cut himself on the siding and they wish to prove different.

couldn't they just cut a deal with him - you get death penalty if you don't tell us where body is and life in prison if you do. would that work? i just want her family to be able to have a proper burial and do the best they can to heal

That might be an option that law enforcement explores at some point, but considering he is not cooperating at all apparently, I cannot imagine he would go for that unless his attorney convinces him that they do , in fact, have enough evidence to fry him.

ETA...and I hope they do have sufficient evidence to fry him.

I wish...!
(No, I guess somebody might get in trouble doing that. Or mess up some evidence.)

Yes, didn't one of the neighbors sneak in through a window into one of DTL's crime scenes? Seems I remember that happening.

For months I thought BBM (bolded by moi) meant BlackBerry Messenger and was convinced there had to be an elusive Websleuths app. and that I was the only person in the world who couldn’t access it! :propeller:

I use the tapatalk app on my iPhone and kindle. ;)

I watched the news earlier KLFY stated that Lavergne's girlfriend was indeed questioned the day of his arrest. They also interviewed the reverend/priest at the church he attended. He stated that BSL recently attended mass and had not been to mass in about 3 years. He also stated BSL made a donation to the church. MOO Lavergne knew what he had done and looked for some sort of forgiveness from a higher up. I think things will unfold next week...now where is Mickey!?

Oh wow, I didn't see it, just read the article and didn't see anything about his donation. Yeah, that certainly looks as if he was feeling guilty like I said earlier. Can't buy forgiveness, sorry!

I think that they were looking for more than items.

For those that saw the video you will note both a blue tarp specifically as well as a white tarp further in. There was more than one vehicle on that property which I am sure they processed looking for trace evidence.

Any areas of interest were probably tested with luminol that night.

They would of also been testing the piping, drains, and very well may of removed them depending on what was found.

The list would be long and varied.

I don't think he has a guilty conscience IMO he was probably cosying up to the church because he may have planned on having a wedding there in the near future. :twocents:

Many theories regarding this make sense to me. My #1 belief is that he dumped the bike and her that very night. Breaks my heart. I just think she was already a little banged up from being hit and then he strangled her. Likely right there at WB. That would account for the rumored bruises and cuts to his arms and hands.

For all we know someone did see this take place and he knew it and thought he could get pulled over at any time. He went on to the first place he could manage a potentially combative victim and got rid of all the evidence right there. Then he hightailed it on the back roads home. Once he saw that ole video he knew it was a matter of time and had to cover his tracks. Even if he did not murder her in that truck she might have bled from the accident injuries and that would tie him to her. He had no choice but to burn it as stupid as it was.

I think he knew he would be caught and at least that is less evidence. Same with the skirting.

I agree with this scenario entirely, for what it is worth.
Any clean-up he did at his home, IMO, involved items and clothing he used during the crime, maybe trying to get rid of an incriminating items in case of a search, etc...

LE always removes things from a home when they do a search like this; it does not mean the home was the crime scene; it just means they found things that they want to test and examine, just in case.

From KLFY
"The pastor at Northside Assembly of God, which is located in Crowley, says Lavergne first started attending services after he got out of prison.

Lavergne was first introduced to Northside through their prison rehabilitation ministries program, and up until recently, Pastor Singley says Lavergne had not been attending.

However he was at their church service June 4th of this year. Less than a month after Mickey Shunick went missing. Which was right in the middle of the massive search for answers.

"He would come frequently on Sundays and over a period of time, I don't know how long it was, after time, he no longer attended here. We didn't see him."

I think the church attendance and the donation was probably done for 'show' to convince his girlfriend that he was an OKAY guy. He had her convinced for awhile that his prior conviction was a mistake, and he was going to eventually turn it over in the court system. He is quite a con man, imo.

Grand Juries basically listen to the prosecution present a portion of their case, just enough to try for the indictments. The defense does not get a chance to participate, so generally, the charges will stand, unless they are ridiculous, IMO. I think LE will able to show that it is logical that Mickey is not alive, since they should be able to show A: that he kidnapped her, possibly after hitting her with his truck B: that she was never seen again C: some of whatever other evidence they have, including how they know he was at WB where the bike was found

The Grand Jury is not convicting him, just agreeing with the prosecution, that yes, there is reason to believe that the charges have not been made in haste or without reason.

I'm playing the devils advocate here. Did someone identify him inside driving the white truck the night Mickey was abducted? He reported the truck stolen so how are we so sure it wasnt the thief driving who abducted Mickey? LE said he was in the area of WB that night. Did someone actually see him there or only his white truck without seeing the driver? I hope they have some good physical DNA evidence because without it this could be another Casey Anthony case (they even had little Caylees remains) where he goes free. I was sick when she walked.

I guess we will have to wait and see, but from what I have read he did not report it stolen until at least 5/26 or 5/31, depending upon where you read.

I don't really think they would charge him with murder just because they can prove his truck was involved somehow.

IMO there is a bunch of good physical DNA evidence that LE is withholding from the public - I keep thinking that some of Mickey's strikingly platinum blonde hairs are bound to have shown up somewhere on his property.:sweep:

Each day we find out more about the man police believe is responsible for Mickey Shunick's disappearance. Wednesday, TV0 learned that at the time of his arrest, a woman known as Lavergne's girlfriend, was brought into police headquarters for questioning, and later released.

The church is located right next door to its Northside Christian School, which has raised a few eyebrows from people since Lavergne is a tier 3 sex offender.

But, Pastor Loyd Singley says he knew of Lavergne's past and they worked with his parole officer to make sure he had no contact with children.

"This really raises a little more than my eyebrows... Since when does a Pastor or Parole Officer have the authority to ignore a law put in place to protect children from RSOs"?

LOL. Well, aussie_girl, we dont all eat deer and rabbit...I hated deer the one time I ever ate it (ohhh, it just wasnt cooked right..uh huh) and people tell me rabbit tastes like chicken...if I want something that tastes like chicken, I'll just buy chicken. It isnt the most expensive meat in the grocery store..

BBM: Was he trying to get information on the investigation, and how it was proceeding?
