This is my first post but I've been lurking for quite sometime. This case really hit close to home as I lived in Lafayette for 30 years, and a good part of that was in a neighborhood between Ryan Street and the Circle K. I now live in Spring, Texas and I'm extremely curious about the distances travelled between the location of the burned out truck (San Jacinto County), where the truck was reported as stolen (Montogomery County), and the city of Spring, Texas which is located in northern Harris County.

Sam Houston National Forest covers 163,0456 acres in San Jacinto, Walker and Montgomery Counties. Since there is no specific info on where in San Jacinto County the truck was found, I'm using Coldspring, Texas, the county seat of San Jacinto County, as a reference point.

Only checking Enterprise Rental locations, I found 3 locations in Huntsville (31.5 miles from Coldspring), 4 locations in Conroe (35.5 miles from Coldspring), and 1 location in The Woodlands (46.5 miles from Coldspring). Yet he rented a vehicle in Spring which is 51.6 miles from Coldspring. Keep in mind that the distances could be shorter of longer since we don't have the exact location.

It appears to me as if he would have had to have transportation of some sort for the time period between the truck burning and the car rental. An unknowing accomplice?

Wasn't it rented through his insurance claim on the burned vehicle? So no fake ID and I see no reason they can't rent a vehicle, just think the notifications from his driver's license have to be automatic.

I agree with you on the notification on his DL, and it would automatically show up if he gets pulled over for something (when they run his license). They don't ask you if you are a RSO when you rent a car, and there isn't even a place on a rental agreement to put it on.

Yeah, he did his time (not enough time) but, just b/c he's out doesn't mean he's scott-free. He has to have his address registered, has to notify his neighbors, and his vehicles have to be listed in his RSO info for obvious reasons--b/c he is STILL a threat to society. So, if he wants to get around that he can just go and get a rental car. Not right IMO. Do they have to get special permission before hand? When an RSO turns over their license to get a rental car, do the powers-that-be get automatically notified? They should...I hope so. But even still, they could just use a fake ID to get a rental car and no one would be the wiser.

I dont disagree with you, however, for rental clerks to start getting into RSO info that would open up a whole can of worms/liablity/training...etc. its not profitable to the rental company. that is why its on his license. He isn't in trouble for crashing cars. He is in trouble for other things.

Seems, the Girl friend would believe/rationalize, whatever BSL convincingly told her..
Chances are good that the person doing the RSO check may never see his vehicle. Many RSO's may be driving a loaner car from a friend or relative.

IMO, the new identical truck could have been aged by a quick drive through the woods on a logging road and was purchased by BSL to prevent suspicion by friends & neighbors, etc...as well as a poor attempt at a ruse should LE come knocking on his door.

Many sexul predators past were of low or average intelligence. Gary Ridgeway's IQ was low 80s, yet thought by the green river task force to be idiot savant. He evaded arrest for 2+decades & 70+ innocent victims..

Sexual predators/serial killers simply hone their skills with each successful abduction and innocent victim devoured...

Or one of many supposedly abandoned cars parked behind their homes. BSL had only 2 vehicles listed on the RSO site. But all these other vehicles on his property belong to whom?

Respectfully, if our good Chief knew exactly where she was taken there would only be one location.

if they know, they aren't telling us because they don't want to hinder the investigation. i'm thinking that it is most likely on coliseum. when i listen to the entire presser, that's the impression i get. he says "somewhere back there" and he includes st. landry because that's where the photo of truck is then he says coliseum because i believe that Craft thinks that's where she was taken then he says Bertrand because that's where the Advertiser video footage is. so you've got 2 streets mentioned due to early and late footage then you've got a street mentioned in the middle, maybe because that's where she was taken.

either way, we need to find Mickey

Well everyone was running around saying "if you know someone who has a white z71 and suddenly is trying to get rid of it..." so he knew he couldn't just get rid of it. But the really stupid thing is, the people closest to him would KNOW that he had a new truck. Obv it would be brand new, clean, not a scratch, with a temp tag. Ummm hello, are you going to get a brand new truck and think your girlfriend is going to get in it and believe it's the same one you had last week? The coincidence that his truck was stolen and burned and he had a new one just like it stands out more than if he would have just kept his and tried to clean all shreds of evidence.

Agreed. It is an act that is just all kinds of stupid, but certainly indication of desperation.

There was crime scene tape put up in an area. The dogs hit on Mickey's scent on each side of the foot bridge near the printing services building on the campus. Now you can take this as my opinion as I do not have a link. Right there by that coulee.

Y'all like to disagree but my opinion is that Mickey was knocked off her bicycle and she ran down to that area or he grabbed her there after she was off the bike and took her down that a way and there was a struggle. She was there somehow. Maybe he carried her over that bridge. We do not know.

Is this (dog's hitting on Mickey's scent) inside info from your LE connections? Can you confirm this to be factual?
Can you attach a map? or addresses so that we can build a google map of the area that you are talking about?

Sorry for all the Qs, but this is new information and your sources will help establish credibility.

i am so sad that the forest is that darn big. Mickey could be anywhere. i'm feeling very discouraged right now and wish that slight torture was allowed in the US to get perps to fess up

Maybe when Mickey got to the end of St. Landry by the open fields she sensed she was being followed and cut across the grass (northwesterly) toward Coliseum Road and he followed and knocked her off the bicycle? It seems pretty desolate there…

Yeah, I get that he reported it stolen. My specific question was whether they traced the truck to him via PLATE or via VIN. Wondering if we knew, b/c someone suggested he possibly had kept the plate, and put it on his new truck.

I'm sure he reported the VIN and plate number when filing the stolen report. If the vehicle had a tag present, it would have been legible, even if the vehicle was a total loss. Doubt it would be in any condition to transfer to another vehicle though.

To remove your tag prior to your vehicle being stolen & burned would be a huge red flag, imo...

It's starting to encroach on nothing more than morbid curiosity that some want to see video PROOF that MS was hit by or even under a truck. What other purpose could that serve?

That part is in LE's hands now.....

I am not aware of anyone that would want to see this. I have seen that girl since she was a little thing and it disturbes me anyone could think such a thing. This is an investigation and we all must deal with what has happened and what evidence may bring her home.

Great find, thank-you for posting!

There are "numerous other cars" according to this article. So, add this unidentifiable Silver Car, to the two red cars, as known BL vehicles.

Do any of the locals know exactly how many cars are on his property, makes, models or colours?

If this guy is a repeat offender, knowing the vehicles he could have been operating in would be useful.

Is that trailer sheeting in the back of that red truck bed? If so, it looks new.

That's what I was thinking too. So, if this white house is the one that burned down, wouldn't that cabinet have been destroyed, assuming the cabinet was in the home at the time of the fire?

The pic on his mom's fb page with the cabinet in it definitely looked like it was taken inside of a mobile home.

The white house is on Elaine St. In Churchpoint. BSL lives on Elaine Lane in the community of Swords. Closest town is probably Lawtell. Churchpoint is about 12 miles south of where he has his home. There is a lot of rural farmland in between the 2 areas.

LOL. I'm thinking the person meant he might have removed the tag PRIOR to setting the truck on fire. So he could go buy a new truck and put the old tag on it to "trick" everyone. Which yes, doesn't seem smart.

Umm...a couple pages back someone did post, saying they hoped if there was any such video if would be released. I was thinking "would you really want to watch that? Why?!"
