LA - ***ARREST*** Mickey Shunick, 21, Lafayette, 19 May 2012 #35

We're not saying that hearing about Mickey is the reason for BSL's going to New Orleans. He was just trying to set up an alibi in case he was called in for questioning for whoever the girl was. Nobody knows of he even knew her name at that point. The fact that he's a RSO would make it pretty likely that LE would want to talk to him. He could then tell them, "May 19th, that was the day I had to go to Ocshner Hospital because I was attacked."

And RSO with a DWT no less.

Just want to pass on a self-defense tip given to me years ago, especially for women. Whether you are carrying a knife or use a bunch of keys through your fingers (like knuckledusters) - make your defensive attack very strong and very quick, so it surprises your attacker and really HURTS him - then RUN - don't stick around for a fight. A lot of ladies (even in the worst case scenario) might hesitate to inflict great pain, but this is a case of saving your own life - so just have no mercy. Pepper spray in the eyes is the ideal way to slow him down while you escape - plus a swift kick where the sun don't shine. Also, I think they used to sell alarm devices that blast your attacker's ears and also bring attention to your plight. Anyone see those? Screams often go unnoticed, because too many young women scream for stupid reasons - a bit like the boy who cried wolf too much. JMO Be safe ladies, get self defense classes, don't walk or cycle alone at night, never take a lift from a stranger, or someone you only vaguely know. :cupcake:

Best scream my LE hubby to,d me to use was FIRE...everyone (& you won't admit it but you would) stop & watch a fire! I have and photographed it for the FD...

I think his hairdresser said he was ready to go out to work around June 21st...did we ever determine the dates he would have gone prior to that time? If he returned a car June 4th, he could not have gone before June 5th and yet to go again around the 21st, it seems he would have just been getting back. I can't figure out a period when he could have been gone for 14 or so days between 5/20-6/20. Do we know if his shift IS 14 days at a time?

I am wondering if he might have been given time off when his dad went into the hospital. I think he may have had emergency family leave or something. Do they give that to a worker if his parent is very ill?

I need to find which issue it was, but I. The Houston Chronicle, an interview was done with a lady named Jane E. from Special K9s...she verified that there was blood at WB that went into the water to across the bayou and down the bayou, east. Does that make sense to anyone?

I only found 6 articles online at The Houston Chronicle site, and none of them mention Jane or K9.

I still wonder why BSL changed the skirting around his trailer. Being that he is so reactive as opposed to planning his actions I suspect that something was under the trailer and caused some kind of damage to the skirting which required him to change it. With him running all over the place between NOLA, Lafayette and East Texas, did he really wake up one day and say to himself "HHMM maybe I will put new skirting on my trailer, especially since I have all these nice stab wounds" ?

He may have had FMLA or he may have asked for some time off for all his stab wounds to heal.

No, we have confirmed he arrived at least by 10:14PM, as that is when JPSO began their initial report on the incident. 11PM emerged due to an error in reporting.

We do not know the time he arrived at the hospital. We only know that JPSO began their report at 10:14PM and by that time, NOPD was already finished with theirs.

Okay, sorry about that, I missed that completely.

Can you post the links for that info, please, and what is JPSO?

Good thinking!

However, the exit right BEFORE Whiskey Bay, the Butte LaRose exit, will take you to a very heavily wooded, very desolate road.

You're right. I guess I was just thinking about the rest area being there.

It's not a huge difference, but we know the original timeline is a bit off. We know he was in Ochsner's ER at least by 10:14PM, not the original 11PM we were told. The JPSO Incident Report reflects that it was started at 10:14PM.

Someone needs to let KATC know to update their timeline.

JPSO= Jefferson Parish Sheriff's Office

10:14 -- JPSO gets the call
10:16 -- Call is dispatched to the responding officer, JP146
10:51 -- JP146 advises JP184 that BSL is uncooperative

10:16-10:51 -- JP146 arrives at Ochsner. Security personnel tell him NOPD has just finished up with BSL. During the same time frame, BSL tells the officer NOPD interviewed him for two hours. That puts NOPD there at approximately 8:15-8:45. BSL would have arrived at Ochsner no later than about 8:00 p.m. That's three hours earlier that what the media reported.

Now if we could only get a copy of the NOPD report.

This is a little off track but.....I had read somewhere in a recent article that BSL's girlfriend was questioned the day he was arrested (not implying she was at all involved). I looked back through my pictures of a screenshot I had taken on June 27th. It was a post made in an earlier MS thread, which was deleted shortly after (bc at that time, no one in here had any idea about BSL) The post basically said quit focusing on the truck, case has been solved, "THE PERPS GIRLFRIEND SANG LIKE A BIRD" This was on June 27! Looks like this wasn't the first time she had been questioned by LE.....

Yes...Daddy was a mud engineer & when my Paw Paw (his Dad) had a stroke/heart attack they flew him home...especially if a family called the company to explain the situation.

Please remember there was initial conflicting information on the date the truck was reported stolen in Montgomery Co. It appears now that May 31 has been confirmed by LPD.

May 31, 2012: Montgomery County Sheriff's Department says Lavergne reports his truck missing.

Just a question..if she were put in WB with the bike....and the current took her away...where does that water take you?

I didn't see this - can you find a link for us? I'd like to read it - it doesn't make sense (at least I don't think it makes sense :blushing: ) but maybe it was worded differently. Thanks!
