Just a thought: I strongly believe Brandon is a pathological liar, so he believes his own lies and ties himself in knots finding ways to cover his 🤬🤬🤬 and recounting his version of the truth. I'm wondering if he may have driven around areas unfamiliar to him on purpose, so that he could believe his own lie in not knowing where Mickey is - and perhaps he actually got lost (if his GPS was in fact broken). If he did this, then he may not be able to give police the exact location, but only a rough idea. :waitasec:

Also worth noting: Whiskey Bay, the Atchafalaya Basin, Bayou Teche, and just about every other body of water around here is chock-full of alligators.

I don't know much about alligators.
Are they attracted to the scent of blood like sharks?
What will they eat....I mean...how much....
If a 100-150 pound dog passed and was thrown in a swamp, would they eat the whole thing?

I hate typing that! Let me change it to: if I cut a 220 pound RSO who is guilty of murder in half and threw half in a swamp...would alligators consume all of it?

Snipped:
i'm thinking they won't release anything until the trial. they don't want the defense to know how to and what to prepare for.

No, each party has to exchange the evidence they intend to use prior to trial during discovery exactly for the reason to give the other side an opportunity to prepare for it or to challenge its admissibility. Not all evidence can be used (for example, I will be watching whether evidence of BSL's other crime(s) will be allowed to be introduced because the thought is it can potentially sway the jury & result in an unfair trial). Generally, you only have to disclose who your witnesses will be & what they will testify about, who your experts are & what their intended testimony will be, and a list of the exhibits and demonstratives you intend to present at trial. There are other things that could come into play like testing - say BSL's shirt was found with blood and the prosecution tested to see if it was Mickey's - the defense has a right to those test results & an opportunity to do their own testing with a sample if the prosecution plans to introduce such evidence at trial. The witness and exhibit list is filed a certain amount of time before trial, either designated by the court or local rules and any evidence in dispute will be covered in the pre-trial conference. I think we will know a lot more 30 days or so before trial.

The rules for cross-examination and what you can use are a little different. I'm too tired to go into that at the moment.

Gators are attracted to the smell of blood and animal remains, the more putrid & stinky, the better. They will eat ANYTHING...if a gator leaves leftovers, other gators will show up and finish it. A 12-foot gator can eat an entire adult deer.

No disrespect intended to the pastor, but seeing as they met BSL through a prison ministry, then it seems he'd already know BSL committed and was convicted of a violent crime, no? Perhaps not every member of the church congregation knew, but probably shouldn't have issued a statement, IMO.

And vise versa or it's concealing evidence...hence the reason for an evidentiary hearing

Yep! Exactly. My hubby is an attorney, so I get lots of expert legal advice and info.

This is a little off track but.....I had read somewhere in a recent article that BSL's girlfriend was questioned the day he was arrested (not implying she was at all involved). I looked back through my pictures of a screenshot I had taken on June 27th. It was a post made in an earlier MS thread, which was deleted shortly after (bc at that time, no one in here had any idea about BSL) The post basically said quit focusing on the truck, case has been solved, "THE PERPS GIRLFRIEND SANG LIKE A BIRD" This was on June 27! Looks like this wasn't the first time she had been questioned by LE.....

I believe LE talked to the gf just after BSL left to go offshore, according to Adam. Then they arrested him the day he returned.

So is it possible he drove the car he rented to the truck to set it on fire?

He could have driven the rental car to where he left the truck but he would still have needed a way to get from Coldwater, TX to Spring, TX as he could not have driven both vehicles there at the same time.

Sure... if ya don't want to get caught or have the body found prob not the best idea.
You would need to have it small enough pieces for the gator to swallow. To insure nothing gets left behind, gators can't "chew" their food. They snap it...

and place the body in a remote place so that if when the sun comes up and they haven't fed no one will see it...

"Inside an alligatorÂ’s strong jaws are up to 80 sharp, cone-shaped teeth. An alligator uses its jaws and teeth to catch prey. With one snap, a large alligator can crush through bones or a turtle shell. But the alligator cannot chew...

The blue work bag pictured earlier along with some cement blocks from under his home tossed in WB would be less likely to be found than burying her on land... but there are so many places! Unless he tells we may never know!

Nolaally, prosecutors & others always use the change of venue excuse as an arguement for not releasing info in a missing/murdered person or other high profile investigations. I have dilligently researched, not only LA but many other states and change of venues are almost nonexistent, although routinely filed.

Why is there such paranoia over a change of venue motion which is virtually never granted..even in the the highest profile cases?

Derrick Todd Lee, Baton Rouge Serial Killer

One month earlier at the De Soto murder trial the prosecution decided not to go after the death sentence because they "couldn't prove the required 'aggravating circumstances,' such as a rape committed with a murder, to secure a death sentence," Melinda Deslatte reported in September 2004 AP Worldstream article.

However, Lee's second trial for Pace's murder was different and of specific interest to the families of the murdered victims because for the first time he faced the death penalty by lethal injection.

Realizing this, the defense team, led by Mike Mitchell and Nelvil Hollingsworth made every effort to make sure Lee got a fair trial. Initially, they argued to have the trial moved to another location and have the pool of potential jurors tossed out because of concerns that the ceaseless media coverage of the murders and Lee's arrest would bias the jury.

However, State District Judge Richard Anderson, who was presiding over the case, rejected the defenses arguments believing that it would indeed be possible to find an unbiased jury.

He said he was stabbed when he stopped to ask directions....maybe thats how he kidnapped Mickey ..bystoping her to ask for directions.

Hopefully they've got him video recorded doing
what he did with no possible way for him to say
anything but O.K. I'm guilty.

Am I misunderstanding something here?
To be going to the GJ on Wednesday it HAS
to be a rock solid case doesn't it? (death penalty)

They must not need any more time to prove the case...

They just need to find Mickey!

I think he will end up spilling the beans...
He seems like the kinda guy that acts big but...

Come on look at how a 220# man
chose a tiny victim...
and she got him good! (allegedly)

By all accounts, it certainly appears that BSL is an arsonist, among other things.

I don't think he burnt Mickey's remains with the truck.

But, unfortunately, I do think it's possible he burned Mickey's remains elsewhere.

Perhaps the searchers should be looking for possible burnt locations, firepits etc., in addition to graves.

Regarding Brandon's "progression" of criminal activity, it would seem that he went from break-in's (in his 1999 charge) to blatantly driving around hitting and abducting females on bikes.

This is another reason why I think there are other victims.

I think he has gotten away with many other crimes, and he was casing for his next victim.

The change of venue is going to depend on what judge is assigned the case. I am hoping for the same one who signed the arrest warrant ;)

I know they won't show everything at the GJ, just enough for the charges they present. They may not even need to say whether or not the DP is being sought yet, just that it is a capital case, not sure. But then they still have time from the 18th until the trial to beef up the case.

I have never heard of too many murder suspects rushing to go to trial. It will probably be a while. Gives them time to try to find Mickey, as well as time for him to consider a plea.
