:uthere: Let's get back on topic, folks. Lots of interesting comments here about drugs, but at this point none of it applies to BSL. If I recall correctly, his criminal record is free of drug offenses, and LE has not indicated drugs were a factor in either of the murders for which he's been charged. It's an interesting topic for another thread, but it's starting to derail this one.

Thank you for directing us back on track. I kept going back to previous posts trying to figure out where the meth rumor got started. I thought maybe someone had linked an article about it and I was going nuts trying to find it!

Unfortunately I have had to skip over many posts trying to get up to date so I don't know if anyone commented on a post inquiring about searching Swords as was done in Lafayette.

Lafayette is a city with residences, shops, businesses & streets. Volunteers can walk streets, sidewalks, parking lots of businesses, etc looking for anything abnormal.

Swords is a community. Although HWY 190w passes through Swords there really is nothing there but a house here and there and many acres of farmland, fields, wooded areas and gravel roads. To get to BSLs on Elaine St you take Jessie B Rd. Both of these roads are dirt&gravel roads. Houses, trailers, and abandoned buildings are interspersed often tomes several acres apart. I have read that TES volunteers were on ATVs driving down roads, looking in ditches and in pipes.
I am pretty sure the cemeteries have been looked at as well. The 2 closest to BSLs are freshly cut.
Sad to say but Louisiana has thousands of acres of farmland, fields, woods, bayous and wetlands in which to hide a body.

It also appears BSL has learned not to leave his victims alive or where the body can be found.

I read bits & pieces of the LP story & accident. BSL called
friends for a ride that night. Elsewhere I read he had a '93 Ford around that time. Where was his truck the night of the accident that he needed a ride?

Does anyone know the number to the tip line? I think they have changed it a few times. Thanks

Oddly enough a lot of serial killers aren't that bright...there are exceptions, TB comes to mind.

No matter their IQ their lust for killing often takes over and they get sloppy or more traceable.

I agree and would also add they dont process fear. Not as we do and it adds to their risk taking :moo:

Just joined Ws. I have been following since May. Great job to you all. Has anyone attempted to prepare a timeline of events of crime related items since 1999 or so (eg fires, accidents, missing persons) and perhaps compared to a parallel timeline of traumatic events or IMO what I would call "trigger" events that may cause unusual behavior by BSL. For example, holidays, divorce, release from prison, release from being offshore for 2 weekes, etc. It would be interesting to view any patterned behavior.

LE has info we don't have and the searches have been local to Lafayette and surrounding areas; they even called TM back from TX to help, so I feel that they are confident that Mickey never made it to TX, either alive or deceased.

What was BSL doing from 5/20 to 5/25?

Has anyone posted any updates of possibly routes BSl could have taken to get to his house from the last seem footage?

Well, I've noticed you trying to be meticulous with the facts and also exploring all options. Sounds like journalism, yes.

An alibi can be for many purposes - not just the traditional one of trying to place oneself elsewhere at the time of the crime!

i didn't realize this. i see where you are getting at now. so it's just to make his lies seem true - have proof of being in NOLA so friends, fam, and work believe he was mugged. he's just a web of lies. spinning spinning spinning.

I live in the area and offered several times as I know the "back way" and the way locals take. No one took me up on the offer, however. I know how to take a screenshot but not how to link maps that I create in google maps. Can someone help me with this technicality? I think I could assist.

To me it seems BSL thinks he's smarter than he is. It seems he has done a lot of dumb things, i.e, burning his truck then buying an identical truck, whiting out his RSO status on his driver's license, concocting a mugging story that everyone could see through.

He may be spinning a web, but he's the one getting caught in it.

Ms. Pate's brother said something to the effect that his sister's lifestyle involving drug abuse was what killed her. When drug addicts or prostitutes are murdered, it seems like few people care, and many of the serial killers who have racked up extremely high murder tallies targeted women with severe problems: drug addicts, prostitues, runaways, etc.

When BSL saw Mickey out late at night, he could have gotten the wrong impression, believing he was targeting another woman with serious problems, who society wouldn't truly care about. Making such a miscalculation and attacking a "regular girl next door" caused the ensuing tidal wave of concern and support, made finding the perp an urgent social matter, and ended BSL's hobby of destruction.

Definitely agree...I don't think BSL knew what he was getting into by taking Mickey...

wish i could help, but like you, i can only do a screenshot. well, actually, what if you type in the Advertiser on Betrand in the Point A box and then in a B box put the street you think he would have taken next and so on Point C, D etc until it is a map of the route you think he would have taken?? then you can link us to is or right click the map and paste it with the little mountain image by using it's URL??

i'm just guessing here. not sure if that will work.

Have no clue but alot has been said about this picture and those bags. To recap: Vaccum cleaner, shovel, mop, broom, pressure washers and that something is hanging out the bottom of one of the bags. About 2 threads back. Happy reading....

Possibly rifles?
