The rash could have been from caustic materials (some chemical) that he used to hasten the deterioration of the body or to keep it from being attractive to vultures, etc.
That was discussed when there was talk of a possible witness, that maybe BSL wasn't aware of, to place him at Whiskey Bay. I personally have been to Whiskey Bay. I cannot, for the life of me, imagine why anyone in their right mind would ever stay down there overnight. Even homeless people can find better spots. It's pitch dark at night. There are 14ft long gators that call Whiskey Bay home. Its a loud overpass, that is traveled a lot. Chicken said he saw a place with old clothing and some trash. There's been times I have thrown out t-shirts after fishing cause they're nasty and smell like fish. I think its more likely that you have messy fishermen. Again, jmo.

MOO is that the only stalking of Mickey that BSL did was that night in question. I think he happened upon her earlier on in her route, probably took a circuitous route, circling around her, trying to keep tabs on where she was, closing in slowly but surely until he thought he had the right time and the right place. I don't think it's a case of him having stalked her for days, weeks or months, learning her routines. I think BSL is too impulsive for that type of crime.
I may have completely missed it in the earlier threads, has equusearch left or are they still there searching?
Off topic, but so sad:

At least a family gets closure, I suppose. But heartbreaking.
Only speaking from my experience, I personally have never seen a homeless person at WB.... and I have been there quite a few times. My husband and I actually went there about a month ago- him to fish... me, to pretend to fish and get a good look around.

BBMI may be naive, but I think the rash is plain old poison ivy or oak, possibly caught while hiding the bike or Mickey.
As far as the aggravated/1st degree charge, they go together automatically. Any kidnapping resulting in death is first degree. In the first case that was tried against Derrick Lee, they had to charge him with second-degree murder, as he did not remove that victim from her home, so they could not prove kidnapping, and although they apparently struggled, there was no proof of rape in that case. That did result in a conviction and a life term, which kind of surprised me (the life sentence, not the conviction) as I was not sure they could give that, for second degree. After that case was tried, they only tried him for Murray Pace's murder, as a DP case, but were able to include evidence for 4-5 other victims (another surprise, although a good one.) Those were the cases they had DNA from Lee on.
His first trial came 14 months after his arrest, the DP trial just two months later, so 16 months after his arrest. I don't see why BL should need or get longer than that before he goes to trial.
I don't think we know for sure; but I believe their MO is to come and go as requested by LE after the initial stages. So they may leave to do other searches and return again several times.
This body was found close to the town that I live in. Sadly it was found by a mowing crew and they ran over it with the tractor mower. The only thing left was bones and some very deteriorated clothing.
They did release today, on our local news that it was a male. Praying for some family to have closure soon.
My guess is exactly the same as this scenario. He had not seen her before, had not followed her to Taco Bell or to Brettley's etc...that would have involved waiting around to see if she would come out, when at that hour, it would have made more sense that she was staying the night there. Poor Mickey became a victim because she was brave and confident and while aware of dangers, certainly not expecting to run into a monster.

I'd say he was impulsive too, had he not had women's items. That crosses the impulse line to me. If Claires story is the truth and BSL threatened to burn down her home, to me that's not impulse, but pre thought out. Just like he carefully broke into his 1999 victims home with a knife ready to go if she didn't comply.
Don't get me wrong, I'm not saying he ever saw her before that night. I just think he's definitely not a random impulse guy
Do gator bites or scratches look like knife stab wounds?
