Nola.com was the only news source reporting this last evening. I wasn’t sure it it was considered as a reliable source. I follow their fb page.
Yes nola.com is run by the local newspaper, so they are reliable. I guess now we know why they are investigating. But again, he was seen on video walking around on his own. So I guess short of someone putting him out, I don't think anyone could be involved in this event. This poor child has been through a lot.

If the police had responded in a more timely manner, would it have made a difference? Who knows. But they will or should have a lot of explaining to do. A multi hour response time is inexcusable.

Yeah a lot of explaining. A difference in this case maybe or maybe not but had that been a kidnapping?

No. I do not think so, here. He was last seen on camera running towards the lagoon at about 630am. Mom didn't call until 10am. But like TMich said, they are only lucky this one didn't really make a huge difference. One of these times, it will be someone who could have been saved, if only they responded.

Dear Websleuths Members

We have been approached by a reputable production company asking us to help them find a member of Websleuths who is an excellent sleuth for a new show about cold cases.

Please understand that you are giving out your personal information. If you are worried about people finding out who you are, this is not for you.

I will forward the information to the production company. After about 30 days, I will delete the information you sent me from my computer. The production company will have your information.

If you are chosen, you will be on camera, and you must be able to travel. It is a considerable time commitment.

If you feel you have the sleuthing skills and are interested, please email me at [email protected] the following,

*A picture of yourself

*Your real name and your Websleuths user name

*Your phone number

*Your state.

*Brief description of your cold case or web sleuthing experience, along with any collaborations you have done.

Remember you will be working as a team.

If you have any questions please post them HERE and not on this thread.

Thank you.

Alligators are known to store their kills for later by pinning them underneath rocks or tree trunks underwater. That might’ve been part of why it was so difficult to find him

The lifelong abuse that that little Bryan suffered is horrifying. How was his mother allowed to have custody of him, or of any children. For that matter, why was she never in prison for child abuse? Those of you who are following the Emmanuel Haro case will recognize that the injuries that Bryan received at three months old, are almost identical to the injuries that Emmanuel's 10-week old half-sister received at the hands of their father. Those of us following Emmanuel's case have been astonished that the father didn't receive a prison sentence, and served only 1 day in jail + 179 days in a work release program. He went on to father 2 more children and is now charged with Emmanuel's murder. Bryan's mother was sentenced to a 5-year prison sentence, but received probation. She has had 3 more children since then, and her youngest is only 4-weeks old.

The 12-year-old boy who was killed by an alligator after escaping his bedroom window in New Orleans had a traumatic brain injury from his mother, not autism, according to reports.

*****
According to a report from The New Orleans Advocate/Times-Picayune, the Department of Children and Family Services responded in 2021 to a call from Bryan’s school reporting bruises to his inner thigh and face. The 2021 states that Bryan had an individualized education plan at school because of a "traumatic brain injury (non-accidental)."

Police reports obtained by the newspaper show that Bryan’s mother called an ambulance in late 2013 and said her 3-month-old baby had stopped breathing and was vomiting blood and milk. Bryan arrived at the emergency room with a damaged lung, retinal hemorrhages, fractures in both legs that caused his ankles to bend outward, and a skull fracture with swelling.

*****
Bryan was placed in foster care and was later given back to his mother, but reports of abuse continued. The 2021 DCFS report said he had bruises on his face and inner thigh and had tapeworms at least twice.

Court documents state that Hilda Vasquez was unable to explain how her son’s injuries occurred. One record noted that, prior to the hospital visit, she and her boyfriend were watching television when the baby began screaming as if "someone was squeezing him."

*****
Hilda Vasquez was sentenced to five years in prison for child abuse, but later received probation. Before her guilty plea, court records suggested that supervised visits with her son would be in his best interest. However, it appears she eventually regained custody of the child.

Court records also show an arrest for a probation violation in 2017.

It's terrible to see a post about a missing child with autism and click in and read enough to breathe a sigh of relief and think "at least it wasn't the parents this time."
*sigh*

As far as I’m concerned, the Haros should get at least one cellmate.

These people should NEVER be given second chances with the lives of their babies!

This poor child got taken away all chances at life. He deserved a loving family and not to meet an end like this but at least he got away from his monster parents
