Another case from the LSU Faces lab.

The victim was located in wooded area near a dump site off of Highway 169 in Caddo Parish. The condition of the plants around it indicated that the skull had been left in that spot between one and two weeks before it had been found.

Looking at it again, I really do think it's a strong match, but I made the mistake again of not checking the exclusions and not being signed into NamUs. *sigh*. Apparently, Darrell Wells has been ruled out. I'll look for some more potentials, although I really thought Wells had a striking resemblance. For some reason, I can not edit the post right now so I can't remove it, which is why I bolded the info.

I'm considering expanding the search to Texas considering how close Caddo Parish is to Texas and the many MP reports there.

As well, here is the current NamUs Rule-outs list, so you don't make the same mistake as me.

Martin Sackler, missing 01/01/2011, from Harrison County, M.S.
Darrell Wells, missing 12/26/2001, from Bossier Parish, L.A.
Benjamin Lund, missing 06/13/2005, from Bell County, T.X.
Adam Dodson, missing 06/01/2004, from Rapides Parish, L.A.

Good to note that Shreveport & Bossier both had an influx of folks from New Orleans at this time as well due to Katrina.

EDIT: Aaaaand I just now realized the person likely died 2-10 years prior to 2005. We are not on our game today lol.

Well, everybody makes mistakes! That would be a plausible theory, IMO, if the PMI was sooner. So little to go off in this case, like many others from the LSU FACES lab. Kind of curious as to the basis of Darrell Wells's ruleout, as dentals aren't available and DNA is. I'm guessing either a DNA ruleout or one based on circumstances.

Yes, they make amazing recons but most have very few details unfortunately.

The appearance looks decently close to me. Charley Project has two more images, although one has a more "prominent" jaw than the other.

The location where Vice disappeared is pretty close to where the UID was found but it seems like they think he met foul play somewhere around Taylortown, LA, while the UID was found in western Caddo Parish. It is important to note that they think the body was left in that part of Caddo Parish for only a few weeks, so maybe someone kept the body and then disposed of it later. Date of disappearance and age would fit in with the estimates. I think Vice is a good potential match.

Martin Hugh Sackler can be ruled out. He was arrested in Alabama in April 2020.
