East Feliciana, La. (WAFB) - The Louisiana State Police has issued a Level II Endangered Missing Child Advisory on behalf of the East Feliciana Sheriff’s Office for a 2-year-old child who was reported missing from his residence in Slaughter.

“This is a child that may need our help. And we’re going to make sure that if he does, we’re going to do the right thing,” said East Feliciana Parish Sheriff Jeff Travis.

According to LSP, the child was last seen with his father, Orin Hollingsworth, on Sunday at 4:30 p.m. and is believed to be in imminent danger.

2-year-old Hollingsworth was last seen at his home on Maglone Lane in Slaughter.

“What I’ve been told by my deputy who responded, that the parents had an argument over some issue, and the father left and he took the child with him,” said Sheriff Travis.

Carson Jeffery Hollingsworth is a two-year-old white male with blonde hair and blue eyes. He is approximately 24″ - 30″ tall and weighs about 24 pounds. He was last seen wearing a white t-shirt with the words “Chilling with my Cousins” and a white and purple Luvs brand diaper. He was not wearing socks or shoes when he was last seen. Carson suffers from a severe medical condition that requires daily medication.

Louisiana State Police says, Orin Hollingsworth is wanted for questioning in the child’s disappearance. Hollingsworth is a 35-year-old white male with brown hair, brown eyes and a beard. He is approximately 6′1″ tall and weighs about 220 pounds. He is possibly driving a 2003 white Chevrolet Tahoe bearing Louisiana license plate 860EIT.

“I don’t know that we necessarily have any specific info that we are concerned the father would harm the child. But again, as all the information came in today off the call yesterday, we just felt like it was better to locate the child, find him, and make sure he’s okay,” said Sheriff Travis.

So why did Louisiana State Police issue a Level II Endangered Missing Child Advisory and not an Amber Alert?

According to State Police’s website, a case has to meet certain criteria to qualify for an Amber Alert, including reason to believe the child’s life is in danger.

But, the agency can always upgrade a case to an amber alert situation at a later time if needed.

“We cannot find the father, the mother cannot find the father, and we feel concerned that the child. And that’s why we did this. But this is an ongoing thing, a lot of times it’s normally a civil issue, but in this case we felt like it reached a different level,” said Travis.

Law enforcement is hopeful they can bring this 2-year-old child home.

“We always have to take anything dealing with a child seriously, because quite frankly, our greatest assets are our children,” said Travis.

Anyone with information as to the whereabouts of Carson Hollingsworth should immediately contact the East Feliciana Sheriff’s Office at 225-683-5459 or local law enforcement by dialing 911.

My bad. I looked for a thread on him but clearly I'm a little lost this morning.

What do we know about the dad? Would he harm the child? I hope this little guy comes home safe.

I'm so scared for him.

JMO I'm worried that the dad is frustrated with how much work goes in to taking care of the little one. Have we learned what condition the child has? Were the parents arguing over the child? I have questions...

Me too. I'm very worried. Between his fathers history (RSO) and Carson's need for medication, this little tyke needs to be found ASAP!
