I do wish we had any idea of where her apartment was

I find it interesting - and admittedly slightly amusing, if it wasn't for the sad context - that we speculate with great rationality about where she could be going, why she took a certain route instead of another, what she was doing in those missing 50 mins, etc etc...
If I think at when I was a "regular, very responsible 22yo college student" I shudder; I used to go to bars by myself, be in questionable areas in the middle of the night, tipsy or drunk, coming home by myself cycling or walking, I would stop at food trucks to have a snack, talk to random strangers, etc... all with total fearlessness and ingenuity!
So I find it hard to think logically about all the things she may or may not have been doing/thinking.
We obviously have to make things make sense somehow because the search needs to start somewhere, but sometimes people just do random things.

In this specific scenario it could really be anything from an abduction to an accidental drowning.
I'm hoping phone data and maybe more CCTV will help LE to generate some leads.
Would be interesting to see if any car was seen coming and going from the area where she was last seen.

MOO

Yeah usually the first stop after bar was eating somewhere. Sadly even some of the past drownings had cases where the victim stopped to sit down and eat, and then still ended up off course and by the river.

If (if) she'd had to pee on her walk home, would she have maybe sought out the cover of one of those large trees that line the river? Some of them are perched right at the top of a steep sloping rip rap / rock / boulder bank.

I hope EH is found safe soon.

I thought the same. As she appears to be on her phone was she meeting someone there? Or went to relieve herself or take/smoke something?
Can anyone show a street view of how secluded it is down by the Mississippi on Front St
?

Thanks for taking all those pictures.

For now, her Facebook page has been taken down, as well as that of her mother, Amber Heinz. There was a very adorable picture of Eliotte, as a toddler, and her mother, both very dressed up and most likely it was when Amber got married, whether it was to Eliotte's father or to someone else.

I wonder if they found her?

Public records show an address for an apartment at 1425 8th St S in La Crosse.

From the Bronco to that address is 1.4 miles.

Bringing this forward, as some are asking where Elliotte lived.

How far is the Marriot from her apartment? On my phone, can someone throw up a map?

Local news report from today. I wanted to note the spot where the reporter is standing and looking at the river, while she talks about the search. She's standing in the parking lot south of the Courtyard hotel, which is a block south of Eliotte's last photo. You can see it's some distance to the river, with a bunch of pipes and stuff in the way. If you can see it, there's a big black pipe running along this whole way, and I have to keep telling my self it's not a sewage pipe. I'm attaching my own photo from this same spot.

The next photo is from where Eliotte was last seen, looking west. Hopefully you can see there's a path to a couple of benches that overlook the river. There are cameras here.
There's also a walking path that goes along the river, and ends where those benches are. So she could have been walking along that instead of on Front St, if she wanted to be by the river.

I also mentioned in my previous post that the big city park (Riverside Park) is a few blocks behind Eliotte in her last photo, and that park is where you'd normally go to be by the water. The park is closed at night, but it's possible she went to that park after the bar, and then it would make sense why she's on this street.
So what I'm trying to get at is that whether or not she went to the park, she definitely walked past this little overlook spot. It's possible she passed that up, went further south, then saw a bunch of nasty pipes and decided to climb over one to get to the river. But to me it doesn't seem like she wanted to do that, she looks like she's trying to get home.
I'm going to post again with some more photos from this area. I hope these are helpful.

edited to hopefully fix images
I apologize, the 2nd photo in this post is not what I meant to attach. I said it was Eliotte's POV in her last photo, looking west. But it's actually what she would have seen if she had walked in the direction (which she did not.)
Below is what I meant to post, her POV from near where she was last seen, and looking west toward the river.
Either way, hopefully it shows that she had opportunities to go toward the river if she wanted to, so the idea she accidentally wandered into the water is very unlikely.

What is worrisome is her age, so attractive and petite frame. Not unlike Eliza Fletcher, Mollie Tibbets, Dru Sjodin, Chianti Dixon. I have noticed that most women who are abducted are petite.

I have been following many of these cases. I hope that she is found safe quickly.
Completely agreed on this. There are certain ranges in terms of height/weight/age that predators seem to hone in on. This is a concern.

The river itself is a concern. The undoubtedly desolate streets (particularly in nearby industrial areas, I was just looking at Hood specifically) are a concern. I can't see if her phone's actually started/powered on, a dead battery's a concern if she were out with friends.

Also concerning that when I streetview through from Bronco's to 500 Front, she'd have made a sharp turn almost immediately after she'd pass Grand River Station, which operates Trailways out of La Crosse (and also has many apartments, I believe, above). I see it listed as closed Sunday, but still see departures from that station on Sundays, and I've actually gone myself on departures from closed stations, you'd just need to have your ticket and wait in the approprate area outside. I would imagine it's a similar situation with arrivals. Further, there's a known issue in La Crosse with people camping out/sleeping near that station.

We don't know where she lived. I just checked and studios there at Grand River Station La Crosse are pretty modestly priced. Like others on here, want to know where she lived and worked. I see some speculating the 8th st. address is the one, but not sure. It might well be, she was probably working in conjunction with a hospital for her school program, and there's a hospital right across the street from that apartment, I believe. The route from Bronco's to that address also passes in very close proximity to the Grand River Station, in fact I think it goes past a massive parking lot that has to be associated with the station even if just by proximity.

There clearly are concerns, but they might all end up meaning absolutely nothing because there could be some much more optimistic explanation with a very happy outcome. She's on the younger side, and younger people tend to be more adventurous and impulsive. And another possibility is that she was not the least bit adventurous but was dedicated and she experienced an extended contact with someone who needed immediate help in connection with her counseling/psychology background/duties. If her phone had power, maybe she was speaking with someone with some kind of actual counseling emergency.

As for the 50 min gap between bar closing and cctv photo I don’t find it odd at all. I used to go to the bars until closing time and usually I would hang out with friends in the outside the bar chatting for a while since we would walk in different directions. Sometimes it would be something quick to snack close by before heading home. IMO

The different route could be that she was heading somewhere else not her dorm / apartment. Afterparty or a friend house. Imo

I would like to know if she was on the phone or texted someone on the way.

I don’t like that there is a river so close by and I hope that she is not in it .

Have we seen anything about who was there with her?

Do police or family have access to her iCloud account --- is it possible she was walking to meet an uber instead of walking all the way home that late at night?

Someone posted an article that said she initially left with a friend and walked with her to her apartment, then was headed to her own.

I’m concerned they may have been followed by someone.

It's always a red flag when a young person goes missing late at night next to a body of water but in this case, the water is separated by greenspace or buildings in most areas from the main roads. You would think someone would end up in the water if they were trying to pee or vomit over a railing. Although there is a walking path along the water, we know she was walking on the main streets past this area... just seems like different circumstances to me than many of the other unfortunate similar cases we've heard about where there is a low river barrier or ravine down to the river that someone could fall down.

<modsnip: Quoted post was removed due to non approved source>Are there other similarities than female college students, 2 and a half hours apart? Emma disappeared from a fairly quiet area, near the Big M hiking area at Platte Mound. She was found fairly quickly and there have been no reports of foul play (neither confirming or denying). Given the lack of information I assumed a fall perhaps. There really is nothing out there on her death other than the sad news from her sister on FB.
