Wow, that didn't take long. Had to be people known to the victims. If it were random, I doubt they'd have made arrests so soon.

If the friend with the inhaler used it while playing Monopoly and returned to get it afterwards makes me think he frequently needed the inhaler. But if he did use it fairly regularly it would seem to me he would keep it in his pocket. Also, if he needed the treatment often wouldn't he have had back up inhalers at home, so why would he need to make a trip back to the Pence home that night rather than waiting until the next morning. If this homicide did happen in this narrow window of time I just can't wrap my head around this friend not seeing or hearing anything strange. Of course, JMO

Good points. And wasn't he with another guy when he was there earlier that evening?

As I wrote in my earlier post, I suspected that two people were involved. I am very interpreted to hear the details.

Scuttlebutt -- Dame Rumor's hand-maiden -- suggests robbery the motive and the arrested not known to family -- in which case color me shocked. We'll soon see.

I was reading through the articles again, and found something I'd missed. Now I'm wondering if it wasn't random.

"But, investigators did confirm that a bike that belonged to the Pence’s next door neighbor was found in a different neighbor’s driveway across the street. Also, at the corner of Clifford and 9th, a purse that was inside of a Volvo, was found outside of the car. Its contents were found thrown out on the road."

Guess I've been hearing the wrong "scuttlebut", because until I came across that last detail I posted, I'd not heard or read anything leaning in that direction (with the exception of the bike, which could be evidence of either known or unknown assailants).

Could prove to be nothing but suggested strongly on site linked in comments under nola.com article above.

The inhaler story seems to be a piece of fiction to provide a reason to place him back at the scene close to the time of the murder. The fact that they've announced two arrests.....but are waiting until after church tomorrow to hold a press conference....is an indication to me that the killers are known to the family and to the community.

Those were my thoughts too about Inhaler Guy.

I just saw that and I think it probably has a nugget of truth.

If he could play flag football and not need the inhaler, it is a red flag that he claimed he suddenly did need it. Too old to still be hanging around with high school pals and just playing monopoly.

I just figured it -- "Yeah; left my inhaler over there, had to go back" -- was perhaps a way to explain his later presence if he was, or thought he might have been, seen returning to the Pence residence.

you know i'd really prefer if you'd all agree with me that this crime was committed by close acquaintances of the family instead of a random act as i'm in this big ole house alone tonight as the hive has went to the family vineyard out of state without me this weekend (she nervously typed) okay???????????:scared:

work with me people :gaah:

I agree. He may have been concerned that something else was going to happen. I just don't believe these young guys were the innocent bystanders the media has portrayed them to be. The fact is that nobody age 25 wants to be a bystander, they all want to be participants and too often their parents are not aware of what they are participating in because it is easier to be in denial. Been there, done that.

I think the perps are acquaintances of the son. May I have the address of the vineyard? It sounds very healthful.
