A man reported missing Wednesday is now in jail on charges of second-degree murder and obstruction of justice as the investigation continues into the disappearance and suspected death of a man who worked with him.

Bond for John Hardy, 43, of Bossier City, is set at $1.3 million.

Hardy, a former Bossier City police officer, was arrested early Saturday morning in Shreveport then transferred to Bossier Maximum Security Center.
Meanwhile, a large presence of investigators continued to work a scene in north Bossier Parish in the Rocky Mount area, where dismembered human remains were discovered Friday.

Investigators at the crime scene could not give an exact estimate of how long it would take them to process the scene. The Bossier Parish mobile crime lab was parked at the scene along with about a dozen vehicles including ATVs.

So many gruesome things that stand out in this article. I’ll never understand why some people choose to make these type choices that lead to hurting or taking the life of someone else. :(

Louisiana man accused of killing associate enters plea

This guy isn’t helping himself at all, IMO...

Hardy was arrested last month and taken to a hospital due to a prior leg injury. While there, he tried to overpower a deputy and escape from custody, Shreveport police said.

“He attempted to disarm the deputy of her firearm and was unsuccessful, but he disarmed her of her pepper spray and pepper-sprayed her and attempted (an) escape,” Cpl. Angie Willhite told the Shreveport Times.

A medical assistant also told the newspaper that he tackled Hardy and put him in a chokehold to stop the attack.
Hardy faces charges of attempting to disarm a peace officer and battery of a peace officer in that incident, according to news outlets.

Bossier homicide suspect attempts escape from hospital; faces more charges

A Bossier City man accused of killing, dismembering and hiding the body of a business associate faces more charges after overpowering a deputy and trying to escape from a Shreveport hospital.
A Shreveport police detective investigated the incident and obtained arrest warrants charging Hardy with disarming of a peace officer and battery of a police officer. Instead of being booked into the Shreveport City Jail, Hardy was taken back to Bossier Max under the guard of additional BPSO deputies, Wilhite said.

His bond on the SPD charges was set at $50,000
on top of a $1.3 million bond at Bossier Maximum Security facility for murder charges.

Hardy was scheduled to appear in Bossier District Court on March 24 for a bond reduction hearing. His attorney, Dhu Thompson, said in court documents that Hardy is not a flight risk and that his family would monitor him if he was to be freed pending trial.

Recovered skull identified as partial remains of homicide victim

Here’s another article updates a day ago. Unlike the one I posted above, this one seems to be a little more updated...

The identity of a skull found earlier this summer in the north end of the parish have been confirmed.

The skull belongs to 48-year-old Garrett Wilson, a Bossier City man whose dismembered and burned remains were found on Feb. 21 on a private hunting lease near the Rocky Mount community in north Bossier Parish.

Crews conducting a routine bridge inspection in June at the base of Highway 160 east of Ivan Lake found Wilson’s skull just underneath the water. Positive identity was determined recently by the LSU FACES Lab in Baton Rouge.

John Hardy, 43, of Bossier City, has been indicted for second-degree murder in connection with Wilson’s death. He’s held on a $1.3 million bond.

Hardy has pleaded not guilty. He’s scheduled to be back in court on Sept. 10 for a status conference.
