The 2400 block of Tulane is only a few blocks from Parish Prison, the courthouse, sheriff's office, and lawyer's offices. It would be fairly easy to hail a cab in that area.

It seems like I read that she was trying to catch a cab on Tulane Avenue around 8pm on Tuesday night. I don't know if cabs are easy to get there. The only place I've ever taken cabs in N.O. is in the Quarter. Maybe someone else can shed some light on that aspect of this...

I'm sure Bessie can. I've only caught cabs in the quarter as well...no idea Bessie was also our "cab" for one night

Looking at photos from the clubs facebook page, numerous girls(I thought at firstit was same girl in different outfits but in a few they are together) have the same hip tattoos(look like pistols possibly?)

That was a California location, per the photo's?

I am new to the forum; I joined after I heard the horrifying news that a female torso had washed up on the beach here in Mississippi. I cannot imaging the horror of it all. Someone apparently did not want the victim to be readily identified.

That said, our local newspaper posted an article saying the DNA results could be in as soon as Monday.

From watching the 5 o'clock Biloxi news (WLOX), authorities pretty much indicated that there's a strong likelihood that the victim is Jaren. I pray for her family and friends and cannot even imagine what they must be going through.

I'm not suspect of the b/f at this point since Jaren (assuming it's her body) is the 2nd female from Temptations to be murdered in the past few months.

Interesting that the NOLA media hasn't picked up on this yet (about the 2 women being murdered). Perhaps they're aware of it and just waiting for confirmation on the ID. I did a search to see if there was any media coverage of Hillary's murder and found nothing. I hope word is getting around to the young ladies in that particular business about these 2 murders so they know to be extra cautious (if that's even possible).

Would be very interested to know the details of Hillary's death.

The best news about the case that I'm finding is at wlox.com, gulflive.com, and sunherald.com, all of which are Mississippi news outlets.

I hope the victim ends up not being your former schoolmate, but it isn't looking good.

No idea...I won the fight to switch the tv back about 10 minutes too late, it seems I missed the news about Jaren. Went straight to Margaret Orr and then Kanye Wests' shoes. Grr. Sorry.

Reading that news article, the one about the preliminary results pointing to it being JL, I was so upset to read about the other body parts. How horrifying for her family! How old is JL's child? Poor, poor, poor little dear!

Someone bumped my post from last night, but yes, it would be fairly easy to hail a cab on Tulane Ave. I would think she would have called for a cab, though, if she were going to work.

I've been searching for news, but it looks like it will be at least a day or two before a positive ID is made. Poor girl. It's just so da*n sad. And wrong!
