Hi all - Jumping in to to say if anyone has trouble finding Hillary's sister's comment on the SunHerald article, sort the comments by "newest first". It is the 3rd or 4th one down. I post there as "LMO1" -I was going crazy all weekend, wondering why Hillary's murder wasn't investigated, so I threw caution to the wind & asked the question to the readers because that's the newspaper Hillary's friends & family would most likely read. I almost didn't say anything; thinking it might be innapropriate but i'm glad I did because now everyone will know that along with Angela Ball's case - the police are doing seriously horrible & dispicable things by ignoring these murders. Oh! Another thing, very soon after Hillary's sister posted & several of us replied -the SH took the story off the "front page/popular stories" & BURIED it. I know that paper; they didn't want bad press about the police "out there". We all need to keep the conversation going, because more women are going to die if LE keeps that lacidazical attitude. ~~~ Okay back to lurker mode!

I'm glad they are releasing the video of them. If this is tied to any other missing and/or murdered women then hopefully it will help to put the pieces together and whoever is responsible will be caught.

It does seem awful daring for someone to plan this in advance and then be seen by other people and on camera with Jaren. Maybe someone else paid this couple to lure her? Maybe they went somewhere to party and something went wrong? There are so many possibilities at this point and it will take a combined effort from LE and the public to solve this crime.

I'm glad that MS LE is involved. I don't know if larger cities don't have the resources to put into solving violent crimes or what the issue is, but there seems to be so many victims that just get briefly mentioned and probably more that don't get any media attention at all.

So glad you posted on the SunHerald article about Jaren and brought up Hillary's case...and, got a response. The SH can try to bury the story if they want but, I've been corresponding with a journalist for another publication and have made her aware of not only Hillary's case but Angela Erin Ball's as well. Hopefully several journalists will start picking up on these other 2 unsolved cases and start asking LE questions.

I'm wondering about the facts that it seems she left work earlier than she was supposed to. Wouldn't she give them a reason for leaving early or was she let go earlier because business was slow? Just curious if she had volunteered to leave early (to catch a ride, meet up with friends, go eat someplace with the people she left with, etc).

I am hoping they release the video later and that helps to spark interest and information in the case.

While i am really appalled by how she was disposed of, I AM glad for what that means. Had she simply been killed in New Orleans and dumped in New Orleans, she would just be one of hundreds of unsolved murders each year in New Orleans.

But the perps have now committed a crime that spans TWO states and many different areas so a LOT of LE is involved. The fact that there was 2 states involved may mean that the FBI could be called in or used to help find the perps. That can mean all the difference in getting justice for Jaren.

So I really hate that they did that to her but am very thankful that their actions have greatly increased the number of LE departments on the case.

Hey all, I'm new here and not really sure how this works. I'm from uptown in NOLA and I have an interesting tidbit to share. A friend of mine on fb posted that she was walking in Gretna yesterday when it started to rain. As she was walking a car pulled over and the male driver asked her if she wanted a ride. She declined and he drove off. Sure enough it started to pour. She took shelter under the elevated West Bank Expressway. Well the driver circled back and again asked her if she wanted a ride especially since it was raining harder. She told him she didn't usually do accept rides from strangers but she leaned in closer to get a read on him(to see if he Seemed trustworthy(???!!! I know, crazy!) as she looked at the inside of the passenger door, the inside handle was completely missing. Could be something. She did not give a description of the car nor make a report to the police. I could message her on fb to see if I could get a description and post it on here May have nothing to do with this case but seems like he was up to NO good to me.

This should definitely be reported to the police. The car description and driver's description too. I wish she had gotten a tag number.

I was going to ask the unthinkable and say was it a white truck but now I see it was a car. Please encourage your friend to report it and she was smart not getting in the vehicle..up to no good seems to be an understatement in my book!..

Thanks for the kind welcome! Got an ok description. And it was a truck. It was a brown chevy truck. She didn't get the plate number, unfortunately. I did tell her that she should still file a report. Also, a friend replied on her post saying she was fishing in Waveland on Friday night when a car drove up and a man asked her for directions because he was "lost" but then she noticed that his plates read Hancock County and she started freaking out. Her boyfriend then walked up and he sped away. I told her she should report that too. Is there a point where everything becomes suspicious and then LE starts getting bogged down with reports? I don't know but, the way I look at it, it's better to be safe than sorry. Scary.

:what: Geez, sounds like your friend def. dodged a bullet. I've had literally dozens of piece-of-junk, sub-1000$ cars, and I've never had a missing inside door handle. I used to own a used police car, the rear door handles were disabled to prevent escape.

8pm - This is the last time that Jaren's boyfriend sees her. She leaves a home in 2400 block of Tulane Ave in a cab which delivers her to her place of employment, Temptation's in the 300 block of Bourbon Street.

-According to HCSO(Harrison Co. Sheriffs Office, MS) , Grannan states that they know she made it to work and was there throughout the remaining late night hours of Tuesday(6/5) and into the early morning hours of Wednesday(6/6) . Grannan states they know the exact time that Jaren left her place of employment early morning hours of Wednesday(6/6) and that Temptations video surveillance also shows Jaren leaving the club with an unidentified man and woman. According to Grannan Jaren left with people "who are not known to everyone".

Thursday June 7-

Cleaning crews dredging along the beach in Bay St. Louis, MS found a woman's torso. Coroner, Faulk stated the torso was from age 15-22yoa female, it had 3 piercings(2 chest, 1 navel) and that especially the navel piercing was of importance due to it being distinct. It was a long chain, with a long triangle shape with rhinestones on the bottom of it. Faulk stated that there was one stab wound to the chest of the torso.

According to HCSO(Harrison Co. Sheriffs Office, MS) Grannan says that by Friday they had joined forces with NOPD and together investigators spent all of Friday and that night interviewing "witnesses" as well as those close to Jaren. In fact it was at this early point that investigators knew the exact time Jaren was last seen leaving her job.. as well as investigators had already viewed Temptations video surveillance and seen that Jaren left the club accompanied by a man and a woman. Grannan said that these 2 individuals seen leaving with Jaren were "not known to everyone".

Saturday June 9-

An early morning fisherman alerted to a limb(left upper thigh) that he discovered. Immediately both Harrison Co. and Hancock Co. Sheriff Office's mobilized a search which recovered additional limbs(right and left upper arms) as well as the head...this further verifying the remains to be those of 22 year old, Jaren Lockhart of New Orleans, LA due to the limbs and head matching up with the torso and identifying the known tattoos and piercings of Jaren.
They are going to continue with the DNA matching process, but are already in the phase of identifying those responsible for Jaren's murder.
