The Feds/LE are not tinkering with video, IMO. The mugshot shown is OLD. There has been no mugshot released of TS in THIS case.

I'm pretty sure MemoryFoam meant he'd been tinkering with his own appearance. That's definitely the way I understood it.

Most dancers are freelance employees meaning most clubs do not require the girls to have a set schedule but will usually require you stay between 4-6 hours. Clubs definitely frown upon girls leaving with customers. This is the epitome of why it is so dangerous to do so, but also if a girl leaves (solicits) an undercover - obviously not good. And, if a girl can make money off of a customer but chooses to cut out the middleman (the club) you can see why it is in their best interest to have the girls stay. (not to mention who wants this kind of bad press for their establishment). That being said, it does happen and in this case, where they seem to be friendly aquantiences of many at the club, nobody would ever think Jaren's safety would be in jeopardy.
As for walking to parking garages or taxis in groups, let's face it, that would be ideal but rarely ever happens. I can tell you from my own experiences whenever I work in the F.Q. I always have a doorman walk me to my car b/c the garages are at least a block away. However, I usually have to wait before another host can come and take his post (which you'd think since it's about a 15 minute walk/wait till car comes out of valet they'd have at least 2 available for walks). And not every girls asks for an escort to her car/taxi. I do not believe these guys are allowed to carry weapons so it's merely safety in numbers.

As for background checks, every place I've ever worked at they require you to fill out an application make a copy of your driver's license, etc. I'm not sure if they do a background check but you're certainly known to the clubs. I know I get a 10-99 in the mail to claim taxes so I'm certainly in the system. But the owner's of the Tempations/Stilettos/Scores/Lipstixx are locally owned where as Penthouse Rick's and the Hustler corp have too much too lose so they abide by the law.
And I must also add that in my 10 years of working in the Quarter I have never ever heard of a raid at a reputable club. Ever. I have heard of them on Airline Hwy (Prairieville) but not Bourbon.

I don't live in that neighborhood, but I also don't live far from it at all. As for children, unfortunately my 10yr old twin daughters were in the presence of the TV when the news came on the other night, so they are now well aware of a NOLA girl being chopped to bits. It's absolutely horrific.

And call me barbaric but I too and glad we are a capital punishment state. I wish we had an express lane to death row for people who commit such awful crimes such as this one!

Imagine my shock when I heard the police were in Kenner and found out the house is 4 blocks from I am. Yikes!!

(For clarity's sake, let me say, I LIVE far from here in the boonies of Louisiana but spend over half my time here in Kenner caring for my gram at her house. )

As the investigation into the murder of Jaren Lockhart deepens, the mother of Terry Speaks defends her son.

Deborah Johnson from Mount Airy, North Carolina says she has not seen Speaks in nearly a year, and was shocked to hear he was a suspect in a murder case hundreds of miles away.

She says he is a loving person and she can't believe he is in this kind of trouble -- didn't even know he was in Louisiana, she says, until she got a phone call.

I said, 'well hey Chris,' I said what's up, 'cause I hadn't talked to him in three months, he said 'momma, I'm up here in jail.' I said what 'they got you for,' he said 'I'm a suspect in a murder case,' and I said 'well did you do it,' and he said, 'no,' and I said 'well if you didn't do it, then you'll get out of it,'" said Johnson.

Wondering if you can clarify your comment a little. I'm assuming you're referring to Hillary Moulder's death when you say there's little reason to believe she's involved in any other cases, right? Not that she's under any suspicion what-so-ever in that death (which may have been OD/natural) but you're basically saying she had an 'alibi' at the time HM was missing/died?

I'm also a little confused about when she closed her facebook ... she closed it around the time of Moulder's death OR she closed it when Jaren went missing?

Do you happen to know how long she'd been involved with Terry Speaks?

Sorry for bombarding you with so many questions, just trying to understand and sort through some of the info we've heard.

There have been more than a few people questioning the possibility of her being involved with various other deaths and missing persons on here. I wasn't speaking about any specific one. And I certainly have no idea if she would have an alibi. She closed her Facebook at some point between Jaren going missing and the club footage being released. She even went as far as to create a new page with a different name. She attempted to add some of our former co-workers, but ended up deleting it pretty much right after she set it up. So I'm suggesting that it would be strange if she'd been involved in other cases and was out partying with no fear of consequences, but then this specific time she got spooked and disappeared. Add to that emotional instability, and it becomes even harder to believe that she would be capable of simply going about her day to day life without being crippled by the fear of being caught.

As for how long she's been with him, I WANT to say she started mentioning him shortly after Mardi Gras. I can't really claim that I paid much attention to the revolving door relationships of my co-workers though. So you really can't take my word on that as much more than a guess.

I was going to post the EXACT same thing re: tampering but wasn't sure enough. Unless you also got the info from TD.com or are the source of it there, that seems to seal it for me.

Seems like a bit of a stretch. We all know the saying "the simplest solution is usually correct"

There are stories every day about drug deals gone bad, pickup attempts that end in murder, drug overdoses that end in people involved covering it up. All of those seem vastly more likely than some hair dye ruse or job offer bait.

Bottom line being the killing does not seem planned and was more likely a fit of rage or an accident.

I am just amazed that people think the worst. My first assumption was they they maybe were giving her a ride home, since she took a cab to work.
I may be naive, but just because she was a dancer does not mean she had no morals. She had a boyfriend waiting for her at home......
