I think we will know a lot more if they release the information about the tides. The thing that has me so puzzled is how quickly she was found, from when she was seen leaving the club, that means she almost had to have immediatly been killed and dismembered, with in a couple of hours, and it seems as though dismembering someone would take awhile, plus WHERE would you find to do it without lots of blood somewhere, then on top of that the perp still had to dump the body and it float to its resting place all in a matter of about 36 hours. It just doesn't make since to me, because the perp would have only dumped the body in the cover of night which would have only been a few hours from 2am til about 6am. The question is could you kidnap, kill, dismember and dump a body in a matter of 4 hours to have the full day to float to where she washed a shore, or does it make more since tat she was kidnapped and possably killed then transported to a location in Miss., dismembered and then dumped the following night and washed up the next morning..... UGGG I dont know if this even makes since.

I (think)her body ended up near where she used to live. IIRC sweetly1 stated this. I COULD be way off base!
IF this is true (not saying it is) it sure seems like regardless of when she was killed she was dumped "in the area" and locating her remains happened rather quickly.
the perp might have hoped bull sharks would get her remains OR knew that she would wash up and be identified...

I just don't think she ended up near where she once lived (in another state) by accident...

Totally agree. My only question is why these posters to newspaper stories claim "the police can't find" the boyfriend. Not true from the MSM. LE is remaining mum, but has indicated they have spoken to him. I'll stick to what LE reveals.

I think the first I saw those comments was after this article came out.

http://www.nola.com/crime/index.ssf/2012/06/tattoos_help_mississippi_deput.html

in which the motel worker says that he hasn't seen the boyfriend since he moved from their room. It could be a broken telephone game. People snip quotes, they get read by someone who didn't read or understand the original article, and then "the motel worker hasn't seen him since" morphs into "the boyfriend hasn't been seen since".

My thoughts are that she may have been transported to MS via vehicle. As far as where in MS, I have no idea, other than it was probably a location west of Waveland. I think at some point she was moved to a large boat and taken a good ways offshore...far enough to where the perp may not have realized she was going to wash ashore so quickly or even at all. I also believe the boat could have been where the perp mutilated her body and tossed the parts overboard.

Here's a link to a map pinned with locations where body parts have been located so far http://goo.gl/maps/x5TZ

I did know her, and she was really an awesome gal. She had this carefree energy to her that was pretty unique.

I also know that she was street smart. I know this because she was a co-worker for a while.

Please accept my condolences for this tragedy :-(

Also, even though Jaren was street smart, she may have still been fooled by a sociopath. They're usually quite charming when they want something.

RIP, Jaren.

snipped:

Hi MSGulfCoast and welcome to WS!!!
So glad you posted on the SunHerald article about Jaren and brought up Hillary's case...and, got a response. The SH can try to bury the story if they want but, I've been corresponding with a journalist for another publication and have made her aware of not only Hillary's case but Angela Erin Ball's as well. Hopefully several journalists will start picking up on these other 2 unsolved cases and start asking LE questions.
Thank you for the warm welcome; I'm just waking up (& quickly catching up before work!) I'm glad you have a good journalist working with you; some of them sadly "phone it in". Speaking of that: The SunHerald is not the place to go for the latest news; they seem to be a day late with everything (I know because I've been reading them literally 35 yrs!) WLOX.com is best place for updates from Mississippi LE.

Also, others have mentioned that it's good that MS LE is on the case - very true; we have maybe 6 murders each year on the entire MS Gulf Coast; New Orleans area has a minimum of that, every single week. So our guys aren't overwhelmed like N.O. - nor are they jaded.
~Now it's off to work!
Oh!! I just went to the SH & noticed the article is BACK on the "front page/most popular" stories -thanks to the readers of Websleuths, no doubt! :)

I listened to this today, and it reminded me of Jaren. There has been a lot of talk about the way Jaren lived her life. Take a moment to enjoy this song, think of Jaren and remember that she was someone special.

I don't know. You think that she did make a lot more than $50 a day? I know that dancing can be lucrative but it really depends on the clubs and how much money their clientele has to burn.

But their lodging wasn't their only expense. That just put a roof over their head. As they were in a hotel it is unlikely that they had a kitchen so they wouldn't be able to cook their food so factor 3 meals a day eaten out for both of them. And they didn't have a car and apparently Jaren had to take a taxi. Plus its hard to grocery shop when you don't have a car and/or a fridge to keep perishables so you end up buying stuff at a much higher price at convenience stores instead of grocery stores.

After all that I'd imagine that they probably didn't have a lot of extra cash. I could be wrong, but it seems to me that they were in a situation where they had to spend a lot of money just to live each day.

From that link:

Fighting tears, Friedman read aloud a passage Lockhart recently posted on her Facebook page.

"I am working every day toward my legacy. It has error but each mistake has been priceless to the journey. I wouldn't exchange my past experiences for the world. They are what have shaped me. Every trial, every struggle, every heartbreak, every broken dream, every crushed hope, every loss, has helped me grow mentally and spiritually. Were it not for my crazy messed-up life I would not have all the life experiences that I have. I would be naive. I would be unprepared to face the world. But I have become strong, independent, and more determined than I ever would have been with a perfect life. It is the hardship I have faced and the pain I have been subjected to over the years that makes me strive harder to beat the odds and break free from the chains society says I am bound by. I will never fall into the same footsteps. I am my own person. I am not the product of anyone else's doing. If you think you can judge me think again. Because I am nothing you have ever seen before. I am me."

Well im sure she made alot more money than 50 a day esp if BF didnt work!
You can eat out just as cheap as eating in....
In all honesty i think there is a whole lot more to this story!
Is BF her "Agent" ?????

Now this is just me and my own opinion but....
wouldnt her BF want a better life for him and his family?
Maybe find a job and get his GF out of that life and find a nice place to live with him her and their child?

Why prefer to live in that motel and let her go to work?
she was a beautiful girl and no one deserves that!

Somebody tricked this girl to leave with them, promising who knows what. i believe they took her somewhere and things got bad. I hope when they find these sick people - and they will - that the hammer of the law comes down on them so hard they don't know what hit them. To think you can take someone elses's life for fun is the sickest of sick thoughts, and I believe there is a special corner in Hell for those kinds of people. I know that Jaren is free now of the bonds of hardship and living in a Paradise much greater than the one she sought here on earth.

1. From what I have read, he does work. But perhaps he is underemployed or laid off like about 30 percent of people his age.

2. If you read the story from today, you'll see that they apparently have a home in another city. She might have been working in New Orleans to make sure they don't lose that home.

3. Her boyfriend has been with her for almost eight years. That's more devotion than you'll get from a lot of men.
