Hancock County Coroner Jim Faulk said he was still waiting for a "complete picture," including the potential discovery of more of Lockhart's body, to make a final statement on time and cause of death. A stab wound on Lockhart's chest, Bass said, probably was the cause of death.

There's one case (and this is the only one I can think of..and I will have to search my memory banks for her name), where a female went to a 'friend's' apartment to do drugs. She OD'd. He was a butcher by trade in the past. He did dismember her, and her brother found her torso in a suitcase nearby. He had the head in his closet in a container. He was an older man, had cancer, had fentanyl patches and drugs (which is what she OD'd on), and finally admitted it to LE and showed them the closet door.

For Jaren, the stab in the chest or back does not indicate this was an accidental OD to me.

Suitcase came to mind immediately. Suitcase, rolling duffel, cooler, storage tub.

LOL! Most times, they never are....

Some murderers are very smart and very good at what they do. Not IQ-wise, but in that they are CAREFUL, CLEVER and CALCULATING so as to never be caught (or at least remain at large for a long time). The person who did this to Jaren was brazen, arrogant even, but not careful. If it is the guy in the video, he looks totally comfortable with himself, maybe has done this before...but he is certainly shoddy about covering his tracks! I always figured this killer would be unsophisticated, and this guy looks the part. I was trying to figure from his appearance what kind of work he does.

They walked into the Temptations club with drinks in hand so they likely had stopped in somewhere before that to have purchased drinks. I hope other surveillance video has been checked from nearby clubs.

Unfortunately, they have "Big Beer" stands and such scattered along Bourbon Street, so this could very well be the only place they went, and it looks as if they went there with a specific intent (whether malicious or not)

It is interesting that her bf had said that he could not reach her at work. And then we hear that she requested to leave early, and we see the video of these two 'locals', who waltz in enthusiastically, not trying to hide or be low key. I am not convinced that this guy was the perp. I am thinking some scenario like:

Jaren hears about an exciting after party, and she decides to go, and so asks her friends to come pick her up, and come to the party or the 'date' with her. It may have been someone she met at work that invited her to go on a late night date or boat ride or after party.

This couple may have been victims or they might have dropped her off somewhere and are frightened and hiding out.

It is possible LE is saying this in order to reel them in. Like calling someone a POI rather than a suspect.

There is a reason they call people a POI and not a suspect and it is legal. Forget which case it was years ago man was called a suspect from the get go. Arrested found out afterwards wrong person. The LE was sued and he won.
As long as they are called a POI they have no legal recourse now.

I don't think they're dressed unusually for a weeknight visit to an establishment where they are known. They don't look dirty.

Well if he is a dealer that she owed money to, and he was getting high on his own supply, it would not be unreasonable to think his mindset could be capable of doing such a heineous crime. Of course this is just speculation and not saying Jaren o.d. I'm saying he could have just stabbed her over a debt. Or perhaps the 2 she left with were a couple and maybe the girl stabbed Jaren out of jealousy and the boyfriend freaked (tweaked) and thought disposing of her in that manner would take care of any evidence left on the body that could be tied back to them? hands have not been discovered if there would be any dna under her nails? was there mention of a rape kit or do they think that is not a motive?

I'm extremely curious to find out if and when she got into a cab, and who she got in it with, if anyone. Seems more likely that a cab driver would have some memory of picking her up than a random drunk eyewitness remembering seeing her leave amongst a constant flow of people. I've only been to the French Quarter once, but I don't recall seeing the streets anywhere close to empty (and I was out until about 4 am).

She disappeared on a week night so perhaps the crowds were not as large as they'd be on a Fri/Sat/Sun.
