Looks like an amazon woman to me.
But, hey! Whatever floats their boat!

I would expect smaller women to be used to
draw people in...

Another thought...whoever did this had to be very strong or have power tools to do the job. Dismembering itself isn't that hard if you disarticulate at the joints the way you cut up a chicken but they went through the thigh bone and cut it in two.

I guess a regular saw would do it but it would be so much faster with a power saw. That is a big big tough bone.
And a power saw would be noisy and hard to muffle!

But not his mask tattoos! they can be identified!
JMO
Right his face can't be identified. I am wondering what tattoo the man in the video had... was it a mask or masks?
As far as the victim...
"The man had no identification, Gagliano said. He has dark-brown or black hair and a tattoo on his right arm that appears to be carnival masks. Gagliano said. He was wearing khaki shorts and a black shirt".

Trying to figure out what carnival masks are...
Are they the same as Theater/Drama masks?

actually the news story says: (bolded to show emphasis)

"The man had no identification, Gagliano said. He has dark-brown or black hair and a tattoo on his right arm that appears to be carnival masks. Gagliano said. He was wearing khaki shorts and a black shirt."

http://www.nola.com/traffic/index.ssf/2012/06/man_dies_after_being_hit_by_tr.html

So it is entirely possible by this wording that they can't actually identify the tattoo totally.

Me too!

The person looks more like a "bouncer" than eye candy...
but that's just me.

ETA: and has NOTHING to do with this case. it was just an observation someone made and
I was in agreement.

Interesting....just did a google for "carnival mask tattoo" and this image popped up (which looks very close to what is in that video that was released (the title of the image is carnival mask tribal tattoo):

They'd probably shy away if you used the word "dearth" in a casual conversation, however.

I am having trouble finding it now. Someone posted Jaren's photobucket in a previous thread. There were lots of pictures of her snuggling up to women and pictures that said she was a proud lesbian. That's why at first I was confused about the boyfriend. This is also why it makes perfect sense that a female could be involved.

Street performer in the Quarter usually refers to the mimes, musicians, palm readers, tarot card readers, and artists that hang out around Jackson Square. And carnival masks look like theater masks. I read those comments and eeek..... wonder if they went further underground when they read their names mentioned? And if the he/she was a doorman, surely he has missed work....however those Quarter Rats are a close group and may not be talking.

Ha! In that case they don't need to shy away-I'll chase them off.

No Morons!

Naw I saw it too especially when I magnified my screen. I'd call it a face though because I can see a nose between the two eyes. And you're right 16 is the best picture of the tattoo.

I saw a face (my perception) when I saw the tattoo on the surveillance video still picture.

actually it looked like a face of an animal... But I, of course, am not sure.

Yeah I know what REAL carnival masks look like - I live in southern la and have taken part in Mardi Gras many times. :) However, I just found it interesting that this image came up in a google search and resembled both the anchor and the fleur de lis which a few people thought the tattoo was originally.

Oh! I am sorry I didn't realize you were just posting that to show what came up on a search, just please: ignore meeeeeeeee!! :)

No worries :) I just googled carnival mask tattoo and that was one of the first images to pop up (tribal tattoo's are pretty popular). And it looked similar to the shape of the tattoo's that others thought it was. I don't pretend to know what the actual tattoo looked like because those surveillance pictures aren't that great, but I did think it looked like a fleur de lis at first. so...just interesting.

That's what I thought too. S/he definitely has the stance of a man. I know they have tranny clubs in the Quarter, but I am not sure if typical strip clubs usually employ trannies.

I went back and looked. Could be. The shoulders are a little masculine, but so are Madonna's

I'm not sure why the doormans gender is important. Aren't we suppose to be looking at the couple coming in?

Locals: JL's family interview on Fox 8 now.

ETA: Brief but heartbreaking, as you can imagine. Father pleading for information from the public. Dear God. Those poor folks.

I was glad to hear the anchor, John Snell, refer to "the murder of a New Orleans mother."
