Terry Christopher Speaks has been missing for almost a year, investigators said Monday.

Speaks is supposed to register each year as a sex offender. He's required to verify his address with state and county officials, authorities said.

Authorities in Surry County said Friday that a convicted, missing sex offender was found.

Terry Christopher Speaks had been missing for almost a year, investigators said Monday. They received a tip that he was in San Diego after a story aired on WXII 12 News.

He was caught Friday, according to authorities. He faces charges of failing to register as a sex offender, violating his probation and fraud.

Speaks is supposed to register each year as a sex offender. He's required to verify his address with state and county officials, authorities said.

So this is confusing me.

The Speaks guy is the one who I had initially thought of when workers were describing him to me. Once the video surfaced I thought that there was no way it was him because his hair was a lot darker and he seemed to have put on a nice bit of weight since I had last saw him. So many of those door guys look similar and they all seem to wear Kangols.:banghead:

Regardless, he wouldn't have been arrested had he not been the perp.

Now my brain can rest.

Then why not take her intact body out to the swamps to get eaten by gators? *(sorry, graphic, I know...but so is cutting her into pieces)* She would never be found and they probably wouldn't be in jail right now, she would just be another missing girl who has a history of disappearing. This was senseless brutality that was totally unnecessary.

I don't know, I think maybe they were wasted and didn't think about the piercings being identifying features.

As far as body disposal it will be interesting to see where the dismemberment was done and the pieces put in the water. Someone said there was a lot of rain around that time. Could they have put her in a swamp area and the rain washed her out.

I agree, that disposal of a body in LA would best be done where there are aligators in the swamp.
