Ive been reading here for the last week but just got approved today.
:seeya:
I do financial crimes investigations (not as LE) and a couple things here I wanted to add (and some that have already been covered)
1) Service industry in the Quarter. If you havent figured it out by now from memoryfoam and others, there's two degrees of separation between everyone who's worked in the Quarter for more than 6 months. Very close group. I know several people well who knew JL and knew it was MAS as soon as the video was posted.
2) TS's criminal background. After reading the article on how he got his RSO status and seeing what else he's been charged with, he comes across as, to coin a phrase, a '

criminal'. He has the misdemeanor assault charge, but mostly its property crimes of opportunity. He doesnt have the 'violent psycho' background. The kind of guy you aren't scared of, but you wouldnt leave him near your valuables unattended. He doesn't seem to be the 'kill her on purpose, chop her up and feed her to the fish' kind of guy. The people on the board who have met him, let me know if this does or doesnt fit your impression of him.
3) He does seem like the kind of guy who would be way more concerned about his own butt as a fugitive than he would be about coming forward with information about JL. Think "I cant bring her back by going to prison, so screw her". As far as I can tell, their activities since 'the incident' are entirely consistent with fleeing because he's a fugitive and knows he was seen with her.
4) The bail amount. That goes both ways.
a) They didnt raise it above the minimum, which suggests that neither the interviews or the warrant gave them anything of value.
b) They got information that the 'incident' happened in MS. There is probably cause, but nothing in LA to increase her bail amount -here-. She isnt going anywhere, so leave nothing that can be appealed.
c) They only get one shot at a prosecution and if they dont win, they go free. They arent going to charge with murder unless they have a good shot at winning. They can charge them when the evidence is available.
5) If they were seen together in MS, that changes a whole lot of stuff.
I'm fairly confident (better than 80%) that they know what happened to JL. I'm much less confident (less than 50%) that they were the direct cause of it.
And wow is this board efficient. Dayum.....
