Found Deceased LA - Jessica Easterly Durning, 43, New Orleans, 14 Aug 2019

So disheartening that she likely won’t get justice while it feels so clear what happened.
Her family likely won’t feel closure for a very long time, and meanwhile he’s free to post his sex work with other women online and I worry for them too. Heartless dick. I’ll actually celebrate if he does ever get arrested. Wish I knew how to use social media better as I would love to apply pressure to LE in this case.

I feel as long as family doesn't give up, there will be an arrest one day.

Can you post a MSM link to those claims?

1 year after her untimely death of horrific loss and continued pain for family and loved ones for Justice for Jessica. (Answers are important) May truth come to light and may Jessica rest easy knowing she will get Justice soon.

Death of woman whose body was found blocks from New Orleans home last August still a mystery

It was about 9 p.m. on August 14, Maria said, when she got a message from Jessica’s Facebook account. It was Jessica’s husband, Justin Durning.

He asked, “Is Jess with you, G. and I are worried????” G. is Justin’s daughter and Jessica’s stepdaughter.

“When I read that message, my whole body went cold,” Maria told Dateline. “I knew right then something terrible had happened.”

Maria told Dateline she called the New Orleans Police Department to perform a welfare check at Jessica’s house on General Haig Street. That evening, Jessica’s husband filed a missing persons report. (Just MOO he had no choice).

But Jessica’s 43rd birthday on August 17 came and still there was no trace of Jessica.

On August 22,
a week after Jessica was last seen, Audrey, their other sister, Amanda, and their cousin, traveled to New Orleans to speak with detectives at the New Orleans Police Department. But first they decided to conduct their own search in Jessica’s neighborhood.

Along the tree line of a wooded area of City Park near the intersection of Orleans Avenue and Kenilworth Street, about two blocks from Jessica’s home, was a body clad in a black tank top, black shorts and black shoes.

“I was devastated,” Audrey told Dateline. “I knew right away it was her. I couldn’t believe this was happening.”

Audrey called the police and an investigation was launched.

But it would be three months before the body was identified. On November 8, 2019, the body was positively identified as Jessica Easterly Durning, according to the Orleans Parish Coroner’s Office.

Jessica’s family told Dateline they believe foul play was involved in her death and that her body was placed where she was found.

Gary S. Scheets, a spokesperson for the New Orleans Police Department told Dateline this week that the case remains open and active and is being investigated by the 3rd District detectives.

This thing would not have taken this long as it has had she not laid in the New Orleans sun for a week and a half before her body was found,” Jessica’s stepfather Rick Schmitt, of Summerdale, Alabama, told WDSU after receiving the results.

“That’s what made the autopsy to difficult… The fact that she was there, everything points to she was dumped there; she did not die there.”

Two more months passed before Jessica’s family received her autopsy report on January 15, 2020.

According to Orleans Parish Coroner’s Office Spokesman Jason Melancon, the autopsy found evidence that Jessica sustained a nose injury as well as a “a small linear fracture” to her jaw around the time she died. However, in the report signed January 8, the pathologist did not address how these injuries might have been sustained.

The Coroner’s Office classified both the cause and manner of Jessica’s death as undetermined.

In an email to Dateline, NOPD Spokesperson Gary S. Scheets said Jessica’s case “remains an unclassified death” and “ is not currently classified as a homicide.” He added that the investigation remains open and active.

Thank you Steph!! That was a great refresher in the details of this incredible travesty of justice.

So, she wandered out and probably fell. She had substances in her system. She probably died from the summer heat mixed with the substances she took. How sad. Obviously it is not a homicide. My sympathies to her husband.

Do you have a link for what your stating regarding substances?
Why would you assume anyone would wonder out a block from their home and fall out from the heat.
Yes poor husband if only he had walked or drove around to find his wife baking deceased who JMO laid there with injuries to her face for 9 days.
This case is undermined and still a open investigation as per the many links above.
JMO I hope one day Justice is served and I am not in the least bit worried about that.
But I really would love to know about those California plates JMO that were in the area not long after she went missing. MOO Maybe your on to something @glamourkitty1922.
JMO could someone of done this to her and dumped her to try to frame the husband? I mean he and she had a fan club is this true?

I don’t recall a tox report, and even if “substances” are a factor <modsnip> There are many ways she could have ended up there with others knowing where she was. This is why not having a good source can make stories start being believed as truth! <modsnip>

Yes, it was in your link. Cause of death undetermined for Lakeview woman whose body was found in August But it was another article that was attached. She must have been in a not very common place since it took so long for anyone to find her. I didn't know about California plates. New Orleans is a tourist area so people go there from many places. Was there something suspicious about the California car?

I wonder if a lawsuit could be started against the pharmaceutical company? Some medications are more dangerous than what they're treating in my opinion.

According to a report, the pathologist who performed the autopsy found evidence that Durning suffered a nose injury as well as “a small linear fracture” in her jaw around the time she died. But the pathologist didn’t address how those wounds may have been caused, the four-page autopsy report, signed Jan. 8, showed.

Additionally, a toxicology examination revealed the presence of various substances, including medications. But records don’t single out any as being a driving factor in Durning’s death.

Jefferson Parish Coroner Dr. Gerry Cvitanovich, who didn’t work on Durning’s case, said it is not uncommon for forensic investigators to classify some deaths as undetermined in cases where there is little or conflicting evidence.

Now JMO
NOPD has been continuing to build a case and at anytime the evidence on cctv (moo) could possibility reveal her last moments and other traffic in the area. An eye witness could maybe come forward. Your right tourist in the area could remember something.

It's just so sad to know that someone could go missing only to be located many many days later by your family from out of town blocks away from your home. I wonder why her dog wasn't with her? Wish the NOPD would of found her the same night as the well check. The time deceased in the hot NOLA baking sun removed critical evidence.
Just a shame for anyone to have no answers yet so many questions.

I think Jessica deserves to rest easy and know that one day her story will be told. Changes need to be made before this injustice happens to another victim. What ever that maybe.

Foul Play has not been ruled out.

Well that may work cause that would deep dive a mega attorney and PI into looking at "her death in a civil suit" I would love that. Yes let's get the wolves of the Pharmaceutical world involved. Perfect. I bet they could solve this. Hey I agree.
I always thought negligence was a big part of this case too. JMO

Here is the link to Websleuths Verification process.

We encourage anyone who is related to Jessica or has specific knowledge of her case to become Verified, otherwise posts stating information as fact without MSM or LE to substantiate will be removed. This process is necessary so that members can rely on the information being presented as factual.

Tricia is swamped and she is also having to do all the verifications herself right now because the Admin who used to do them is no longer handling them.

If anyone in this thread has previously submitted an application for Verification and not received an answer, please re-submit your information and private message me to let me know when you have done so. (Don't just say it on the thread as we do not monitor the thread 24/7 and may not see your post). I will then follow up with Tricia to be on the lookout for it. In the meantime, do not continue to post inside information until such time as you are approved as a VI.
I have submitted SO MANY REQUESTS to be verified as an insider. Please check.

It is sad that a more thorough search was not done right away it would seem - I'm following tracey rieker's case and the vehicle with her in it were found this weekend in a pond very near her home. She went missing on September 30. I would have thought LE would eliminate those areas close to the home first ?
