First: So Eric tells the police (not sure when) that Judy left with a man named Richard Franks on August 2, 1986. Upon what did he base this statement? (What does he say now when asked: “why did you tell them she left with Richard Franks, and why (how) could you have known she left with Franks on August 2, 1986? Did you see them together?”
Second: “Eric, why did you tell the police she left with Richard Franks on August 2, 1986, - but told her family that you’d learned from the pharmacy staff / druggist that she’d left from the pharmacy in a green 4 door car?”
Since she was your wife, after you learned from the pharmacy staff / druggist that she had gotten into a green 4 door sedan - and knowing that you’d already told police about her leaving with Richard Franks on Sat Aug 2, 1986, didn’t you think you should go tell the police about what the pharmacy staff / druggist at the pharmacy told you?
Third: wouldn’t it be an easy lie for Eric to have bern caught in: telling his sister in law (once she and her husband arrived out at Linden (I assume on Eric had 2nd or 3rd of August?) that Rickie had been first left in a car seat all alone on the front porch when Eric had gotten there, - but then had later (since) been “picked up by Judy’s sisters”, - when all along baby Rickey was supposedly in Hamilton at Judy’s mom’s house for 2 days?
I’m missing something. Hadn’t Eric seen his son at his mother-in-laws house on Hamilton, while he was there (just before he left to go “look” for Judy)?
Then, according to the sisters (and/or mom) Eric was gone for two days. So, an obvious question: are the girls / mom sure that baby Rickey was at the mom’s for the 2 days? Did they move him a few houses down to Laura or Shirley’s (I can’t remember if one or both also lived on the block).
And, what did the sisters say when told that Eric had been saying that baby Rickey had mysteriously shown up on the porch of his old house/trailer at Linden? (and that the dusters later came and got him)
Btw, had Eric and Judy been living separately at the time of her disappearance? (one maybe at the house in town and one at the trailer in Linden near his parents?)
If they were living together (at one location or the other) with the baby, why would Eric say; “every time I went to see her she was over at somebody’s house”? (And (para): “when we were at Hamilton she was writing notes to people, I don’t know who”)?
Who was Eric suggesting might have dropped baby Rickey off on the front porch? Surely not Judy, she had no car (not to mention, the mom or sisters would know if Judy came by in a green 4 four door car (or any car) abd picked him up from Hamilton to take him to linden .. oh, this is ridiculous! And surely not the sisters.
And, what did either of the sisters say when later confronted with the news that Eric said they had come out to pick up little Rickey?
And when Judy told her sister that she wanted to leave Eric because he was making her sleep with Eric’s boss in exchange for getting a ride to work.. where were Eric and Judy living at the time?
Re: the comment that one sister later made, that Eric had quit his job after Judy went missing, I wonder if it’s because his boss was no longer willing to pick him up? Ughh!
Eric could basically tell whatever story he wanted - to whomever he wanted - once he knew that LE was not looking for her AT ALL. He could never get caught in a lie. But how did he know that?
