Passengers witnessed a 44-year-old guest go overboard while on the Carnival Triumph ship, which was in the second day of a five-day cruise. The Carnival Triumph travels between New Orleans and Mexico, and was expected to arrive in Cozumel on Monday.

This was the second dangerous fall aboard a Carnival cruise ship over the weekend. A woman on the Carnival Elation fell two stories from her cabin’s balcony and died on Friday morning.That ship left Jacksonville on Thursday and was heading for the Bahamas.

Witnesses say woman who fell off cruise ship was fighting with husband moments before fall

Passengers onboard say Brooks and her husband, Scott, were at dinner when they started arguing. Those passengers say the argument got out of control and the two were escorted out by security. About 30 minutes later, Brooks went overboard.

Search called off for woman who went overboard from Carnival Triumph cruise ship

The Mexican Navy called off their search late Friday (Jan. 26) for the Lafayette woman who went overboard from a Carnival Triumph cruise ship last week

She fell into the Gulf of Mexico near the Mexican coast. After over four days the Mexican Navy called off their search.

I know people are giving the husband the stink eye right about now, but I haven’t seen LE or MSM report whether he’s being/been detained for questioning. I wonder whether LE are thinking accident (which seems difficult given the height of the railing, but I suppose anything is possible), foul play or suicide.

The mother says Governor John Bel Edwards’ office has reached out to her and her family to offer support. Winfrey said the FBI also contacted her and said she was told that their investigation is not finished.

Brooks’ husband was detained following the incident and has been released. She says he has not contacted her.
