LA - Karmeshia Thomas, 25, found dead in her big rig, New Orleans, Sept 2018

Maybe she had settled down for bed and got violently ill and was unable to call for help because she didn't have a phone.

Also, where did you read about the Uber driver? I can't find it.

you know, I looked at all my links and it must have been edited. because one of the 3 links in my first two posts, said that she was seen by others inside the truck stop watching the game (unk which game) and that she left and came back in an uber.

here is another link that says about watching the game and an uber.

Woman from Mississippi found dead at truck stop in New Orleans
Thank you, but I'm confused. It said she lost her phone on Saturday night as she had been pickpocketed on Bourbon St.

On Sunday, she used the office phone and called her Mom and then her sister. After that an Uber or Lyft driver picked her up and brought her back. ???

So where did she go Sunday night?
I may be reading this wrong.

Not to be dense, but don’t you need the Uber or Lyft app to summon them? I only know how to contact them through their apps.
Edit: in other words, without a smartphone, you can’t get a Lyft/Uber. (Can you?)

I think you're right. My sister and I had our first experience with Lyft today when we got stranded at a doctor's appointment. I still have a dumb phone, but my sister has a smart phone and had to download the app before arranging a ride.

that's my understanding too. it sounds like she went out sat night and was pick pocketed. got back sat/early sunday possibly via uber, it is unknown. then sunday she went into the truck stop, used their phone to notify family she lost her phone, watched the game, and left in an uber.

if she had used it sat night its possible she got their contact and called the directly if she needed a ride somewhere. but then usually ppl store their contact in their phone so idk. and they are supposed to only use the app but some hustle and need the cash so its not unheard of for them to hang around areas of high traffic. (airport, truck stop, downtowns)

She wouldn't have had a phone on Saturday night so how did she arrange to get home that night?

Someone else may have let her use their phone to arrange a ride? Could be how perp knew where to find her? IDK

Noting that this is not the only time that it was stated that Karmeshia was last heard from on Sunday, other links say Saturday. rbbm, imo, speculation.

"Karmeshia Thomas’s mother Joyce Thomas says that the last time she heard from her daughter was on Sunday, September 9. Thomas says that Karmeshia called her on Sunday from the truck stop’s office after her phone had been stolen while she was on Bourbon Street. Joyce Thomas says that her daughter was scheduled to be home on Monday, September 10, but that she never showed up.

Truck stop workers also say that they saw Karmeshia on Sunday inside the building watching football. She is said to have gotten a ride from an Uber or Lyft driver at some time on Sunday."
"Thomas dead inside the sleeper berth area."
"Joyce Thomas says that she was not allowed to see her daughter’s body and that there will be a closed casket at her funeral on Saturday"

The problem w/ this is that you pay Uber/Lyft automatically through the app.

I’m thinking there’s another person present who has not been mentioned. A random person isn’t going to call an Uber for you bc then that person has to pay for it.

I believe some trucks, european like a Mercedes Benz and others, require the key to lock the door. May some newer domestic ones do as well, but, I am not sure.

Well you can manually lock the door , and then just shut it so that part is not a mystery to me .

The covered with blood and next of kin not allowed to see her indicates a slashing or maybe worse.

At first I wondered withouth reading she had been filled with bullet holes or slashed up that perhaps she had been poisoned and bled thru her eye, ears, nose etc. Like the ugly stuff in rat poison will do?

this is one of many cases that AB could do on her show instead of the endless weeks of her obsession with chris watts. i mean if there is news then yes report it, but this case among others need to be heard and seen. such a shame she has 2 hours and she repeats the same thing.

If she had a credit card with her, wouldn't she be able to pay for it herself using someone else's phone, as long as they had the app. I really don't know how it works because my sister was the one who used the app on her phone yesterday.

I could also see someone -- a kind person or someone pretending to be kind but with an ulterior motive -- volunteering to pay for her a ride back to the truck stop. Someone with an ulterior motive could use the info they gleaned to stalk her. Perhaps to get a larger gain in the long run, if she was robbed (but no mention of this).

BBM Yes! I was trying to recall what type of poison causes hemorrhaging. If she had ingested rat poison containing an anticoagulant like warfarin, how would it have gotten into her system? If food at the truck stop had been tainted, why was no one else affected? She would have to be targeted.

Also, I think most rat poisons now contain Vitamin D3 (cholecalciferol) which is not dangerous to humans, but causes hemorrhaging in rodents. But if Karmeshia was targeted, someone could have slipped her a high dose of warfarin, either via rat poison or a prescription.
