NEW ORLEANS (WVUE) - The New Orleans Police Department is asking the public's help in locating a woman reported as missing.

Katie Winstell, 27, was last seen at about 6:30 p.m. at University Medical Center where she was being treated, according to NOPD.

According to the report, police believe she left the hospital while undergoing treatment.

Winstell’s mother told police that she received a call from her daughter on Monday around 10:30 a.m., but could not find her.

Winstell, who is reported to be homeless, is described as standing about 5’9” and weighing about 180 pounds with hazel eyes, and long black hair.

She was last seen wearing a gray shirt and blue/gray pajama pants.

What happened after August that she is homeless?
Is it more that she doesn't have a registered address but is actually living with someone her mom just doesn't know?
Is it her child in the pics?
Who is the guy J in the pictures with her?
What is her connection to the guys giving her their phone numbers?
Did her mother report her missing, or did the hospital? Had she been checked out?
Did she leave any personal belongings behind?
Was she in treatment for drug abuse or an injury?

I can think of a few reasons someone would leave from a hospital and not check out or complete treatment:

1. Drugs
2. Pimp
3. Mental instability
4. Fear of being found and hurt
5. Anxiety over payment or costs

I checked a good number of the friend profiles that are publicly linked via comments etc and none of them (or her mom) are posting publicly about looking for her.

Yeah that would be my assumption as well, perhaps a combination of 1-3. I hope she is found safe :/
