Okay so I found this abou RW:
Randall Harold Whitfield was 39 years old in 2001 when he disappeared from his Haleyville, Alabama, home. On December 8, Randy spoke with his brother, mentioning he was delivering a vehicle to Russellville. According to a friend, Randy delivered the vehicle on December 10th, returned to his home on Winston County Road 478, and has not been seen since. When family searched his home three weeks later, they found the door to his trailer unlocked, rice on the stove, and Randy’s dog who had been left to forage for food.
Randy’s truck was later found in the possession of the friend who had last seen him. The friend was arrested and prosecuted for First Degree Theft. Cadaver dogs found a location where Randy’s body may have been disposed of, but a minor search turned up nothing.
While Randy Whitfield’s disappearance is important in itself, he went missing two days before Elmer and Joette Thrasher were murdered in their home located between Haleyville and Double Springs. Was Randy another victim of the mysterious killer(s), or was he in some way connected to the crime? Randy’s friends and family feel that he somehow learned of the plans to kill the couple and was also done away with. Searches in Mississippi and near Russellville have turned up no sign of Whitfield’s remains. A briefcase belonging to the Thrasher family was later found on a rural road in Franklin County.
At the time of his disappearance, Randy Whitfield, sometimes called “Red,” weighed 196 pounds and stood 5′ 9″ tall. He has red hair and green eyes. Anyone with information concerning Randall Harold Whitfield should call the Haleyville Police Department at (205) 486-5201.
