Found Deceased LA - Mark Bakotic, 21, New Orleans, 30 Dec 2016

It will be interesting how this ends up playing out. His parents and friends are still very actively looking. It seems they have so many factors that may or may not play a part in this disappearance.
-- the drugs her reportedly took before he ran off confused
-- the credit cards that were used by 2 women
-- apparently a taxi cab driver who is arrested and talked about on the Missing page, although I don't understand the full story. It seems Mark either got in the cab to leave the area, lost his wallet in there, then the girls picked it up (making the cab driver the last to see him) OR the girls got the wallet and got in the cab--- but they had a car, so I'm not sure about this
--- his mom, at least, seems like it is a possibility that he just left the area for an adventure (this seems the least likely to me, as his birthday has passed and he contacted no one? That doesn't sound right, to me)
--- some random crime that has nothing to do with any of those!
--- I will add suicide in there, as that is always a possibility with any person.
--- or no foul play, but dying somewhere out of sight by overdose or elements?

I mean, it seems like nothing has been ruled out!

And his mom says there are many things we don't know. SO... what are they? Where should people be looking? Cryptic investigations make finding people much harder than more transparent investigations, in my opinion. I hope he is found soon.

Unidentified body found in D'lberville, MS: http://www.sunherald.com/news/local/crime/article128118824.html

This is about an hour and a half drive away, so it may be a longshot to be Mark, but I can't find recent many missing persons reports close to the area. Here is a map of the distance from the club he was last seen at to the area near the remains: https://www.google.com/maps/dir/Dol...541a886470ceddf3!2m2!1d-90.065672!2d29.944135

Update on this man:

Investigators are still trying to determine the identity of a man whose decomposing body was found late Sunday afternoon in a metal shed off Lemoyne Boulevard.

“We’re checking all our records and local agencies to determine what missing persons they may have,” D’Iberville Police Chief Wayne Payne said.

Harrison County Coroner Gary Hargrove said he will have a better description of the man once an autopsy is performed Tuesday, including his height, weight, approximate age and race.

Hargrove said he has been fielding calls about the man’s possible identify. He said anyone with information on the case should call the coroner’s office at 228-865-4290 or the D’Iberville Police Department at 228-396-4252.

So they say that the body has been in there for a week to ten days, yet they had to get a chainsaw to get to him? How did he get in there?

I keep thinking the exact same thing!!!!!

If he was carrying this girl he couldn't have so out of it that he would be an easy target for a robbery, imo. He apparently was well in control of his own body, and able to think clearly enough to help this woman.

So assuming he was physically and mentally fine - what happened next? He just wandered off? Someone said a river is nearby, did he go there? Have they searched it? Wouldn't be the first time I have seen this happening here.

I live here in New Orleans and the river's proximity to this area is my biggest fear for the possible outcome of this case. My heart aches for his family.

Me too! He must have crawled in through a small gap I guess. LE however needed to get in to examine the scene, take photos, possibly bring in a stretcher, etc.

I love NOLA, so to be fair to the NOPD they really are only technically a few years old as being a reorganized, legit, and above board LE agency. True but harsh and doesn't apply to everyone at NOPD. I hope they find Mark really soon so he can be reunified with his family. And if the young man in the shed isn't Mark, I hope they find his family soon and stop the torture their certainly living though having lost a loved one.

Father states there have been many sightings yet he is a little too slow in following up.
Admin: can we compile and post a list of facts together that we know of so far?

The body in the shed in D’Iberville has been identified. It is not Mark.

He was homeless which probably explains why he was in that shed.

The man’s identity is not being released because authorities are trying to find next of kin to notify them of his death. Hargrove said the man was homeless. He was identified through fingerprints because he had a record with law enforcement.

Isn't that right where the shipyard is? I feel like going from the CBD into the river is not an easy task

Vinelink shows KP out on bond and BP out on own recog

Doesn't it sound like they are taking DNA from Brittany? I am thinking none of this is good. I think the police are on to something and can't say yet. I am sad that his family is running all around town, if they harmed him. I hope they are running around town and will find him! They are really searching high and low.

Yes - they are taking DNA from Brittany. Weird that KP didn't receive and ROR and has the longer and more violent history, but they want DNA from BP. It could be that with KP's record they already have her DNA and they don't have it for BP.

I think that's exactly it. I thought of that after I went to sleep. They probably have hers.

I cannot find where I read that the cab driver was one of the girls father, that were arrested

Has anyone else read this

I didnt see any of that. This case is so strange to me. It really seems like both of his parents still believe that he is just off and running. I cannot figure out if that is a coping mechanism or if that is reality. Last night on his find me page, someone posted still shots of a cam on Bourbon St. His mom was saying it looked like him, his dad said the neck seemed too long. People were going to check it out. I just hope he finds a way to contact someone or they find some genuine info about him soon. It has to be heart wrenching.

A month after vanishing in the CBD, Mark Bakotic II remains missing

A month after 21-year-old Mark Bakotic II disappeared from outside a CBD night club, his parents say they believe their son is still alive and roaming New Orleans.

At least 21 times in the past 31 days, Mark Bakotic Sr. has made the two-hour trip from his home in Hurley, Miss., to chase the erratic, ephemeral trail that his missing son appears to have left in his wake.

"The bottom line is I think he's still on drugs and not eating and still wandering the city," Mark Bakotic Sr. said in a phone interview Monday night (Jan. 30).

According to New Orleans police, several of Bakotic's friends said he had taken a narcotic called "2CE" -- a psychedelic drug. According to Bakotic's father, friends said the younger Bakotic seemed discombobulated, unaware of who or where he was. In this state, he took off running from his friends and, out of their sight, jumped into a cab, his father said. He got out a few blocks away and vanished into the night.

Long article about his parents' efforts to find Mark. Father is boots on the ground, searching New Orleans.

http://www.nola.com/crime/index.ssf/2017/01/a_month_after_vanishing_in_the.html

A woman in the Marigny area, near the intersection of Esplanade Avenue and Frenchmen Street, said on Jan. 9, Bakotic asked to sit on her porch and the two had a conversation, the elder Bakotic said. The woman said Mark Bakotic II "didn't appear to be cognizant of who he was," Bakotic Sr. said.

Mark Bakotic Sr. and Marissa Bakotic said their son left his wallet in the cab he caught near Republic. Marissa Bakotic added that her son had no interaction with the women who took his credit cards.

It appears police are still looking for the women that used his card.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/2C-E

The total duration of 2C-E's effects is generally between six and ten hours for an average dose, with the plateau lasting between three and six hours.[SUP][4][/SUP]For such a dose, the onset of effects takes approximately twenty to ninety minutes and perception may be somewhat altered for up to a day after ingestion.[SUP][5][/SUP]
2C-E's effects are often described as "neutral", in comparison with other psychedelic chemicals and even other 2C-x related molecules

https://psychonautwiki.org/wiki/2C-E

Physical effects
Spontaneous tactile sensations - The "body high" of 2C-E is manifested as one of the most proportionally intense in comparison to almost all of the classical psychedelics. The sensation itself can be described as an intense and slightly uncomfortable energetic pins and needles sensation that constantly encompasses a person's entire body. It is usually felt over every square inch of the skin but occasionally manifests itself in the form of a continuously shifting, tingling sensation that travels up and down the body in spontaneous waves. Alongside of this, many users commonly report that the "body high" can be particularly uncomfortable and sometimes accompanied by dysphoric aches and urges to shift the position of one's body and prolonged tensing of unusual combinations of muscle groups.
Bodily control enhancement
Increased heart rate
Nausea - Mild to extreme nausea is consistently reported when consumed in moderate to high doses and either passes once the tripper has vomited or gradually fades by itself as the peak sets in.
Euphoria - Feelings of frequent but unpredictable rushes of warm physical euphoria are extremely common and very pleasurable. These move from the top of the head downwards before enveloping one's whole body.
Pupil dilation
Stimulation - In terms of its effects on the physical energy levels of the tripper, 2C-E is usually considered to be very energetic and stimulating in a fashion that is quite comparable to that of MDMA although it is encouraged instead of forced.
Tactile enhancement
Temperature regulation suppression

Cognitive effects

The head space of 2C-E is described by many as one which is both insightful and relatively normal in its thought processes even at moderate to high dosages.

The total sum of these cognitive components regardless of the setting generally includes:

Analysis enhancement - This component is introspection dominant and consistently manifested only in the context of a non-social setting in which the user is alone.
Empathy, love, and sociability enhancement - This component is consistently manifested only in the context of social settings in which one is within the company of others. These feelings of sociability, love and empathy are a little weaker and less sharp than those found on substances such as MDMA and 2C-B but still prove strong enough to provide long-lasting therapeutic effects.

Conceptual thinking
Creativity enhancement
Emotion enhancement
Immersion enhancement
Increased libido
Increased music appreciation
Memory suppression
Ego death
Novelty enhancement
Personal bias suppression
Spirituality enhancement
Thought acceleration
Thought connectivity
Time distortion
Wakefulness
Visual effects
Enhancements
Colour enhancement
Pattern recognition enhancement
Visual acuity enhancement
Distortions
Drifting (melting, flowing, breathing and morphing) - In comparison to other psychedelics, this effect can be described as highly detailed, slow and smooth in motion, static in appearance and unrealistic/cartoon-like in style.
After images
Colour shifting
Scenery slicing
Symmetrical texture repetition
Tracers

The toxicity and long-term health effects of recreational 2C-E use do not seem to have been studied in any scientific context and the exact toxic dose is unknown. This is because 2C-E is a research chemical with very little history of human usage. Anecdotal evidence from people within the psychonaut community who have tried 2C-E suggests that there are no negative health effects attributed to simply trying the drug by itself at low to moderate doses and using it very sparingly (but nothing can be completely guaranteed). Independent research should always be done to ensure that a combination of two or more substances is safe before consumption.

It is strongly recommended that one use harm reduction practices when using this drug.

I think they will need to search within a few miles of where he exited the cab in all directions. I will be surprised if he is still alive after reading into this drug.
