I'm so sorry I missed responding to your question. Nothing new. Court date coming up in December. Maybe, just maybe Judge Jefferson will move forward on this and find him guilty

Plead not guilty. No bond. Judge reduced bond (10/23/19) to $300K. (Future reductions possible). Bond reduction denied (7/28/21). Quachita Parish
Bench Trial was set to begin on 12/1/25 was postponed with no further dates.

8/4/25 Update: Ouachita Parish Judge Larry Jefferson set a trial date for 12/1/25. The trial is expected to last four days, the Ouachita Parish DA's office said in a hearing on Monday, 8/4/25 at Ouachita Parish Courthouse in Monroe. Tellis asked for a bench trial, so there will be no jury. Only Jefferson will consider the evidence & determine whether Tellis murdered the University of Louisiana-Monroe graduate from Taiwan.
11/7/25 Update: A motion to remove the judge from a high-profile Louisiana murder case had been denied. The Louisiana District Attorney's Office sought to remove Judge Larry Jefferson from the murder trial of Tellis, citing alleged bias and personal animosity toward prosecutors. The motion cited the judge's past rulings overturned on appeal & accusations of mistreating prosecutors. But the court denied the request, saying no evidence of bias was shown and the motion was filed too late under state law. Next hearing on 12/1/25. Trial on 12/1/25 has been postponed.

12/1/25 Update: The bench trial for Tellis was delayed after a key expert witness for the prosecution died in a car crash. Prosecutors argued the witness, Paul Rowlett, was critical for analyzing electronic data to create a timeline of events. The judge rescheduled the trial to begin on 1/5/26.
